It's clear to me that his Mother had a profound influence on his life, and her passing affected him in ways that most of us could never understand. It's not our place to judge. That belongs to The Man Upstairs. His musical influence and talent is unmatched, and the fact that I lived through it and was able to witness his greatness is a blessing to me. 90's R&B wouldn't be what it is without R. Kelly. That is a fact. God Bless him and I pray for his salvation. The most extraordinarily talented usually have a story behind their success. Robert is no different. Love him or hate him, you can't deny that he is the R in R&B.

Robert, if you ever get a chance to read this there are some of us in Chicago and across this nation who still love you and your music. The Bible teaches us not to judge, and while your personal life might be colliding right now with your professional life; the god-fearing, experienced, mature, balanced, loving women and men who have all experienced any sort of discretion understand. I lost my daughter's father in 2017. He's one of your friends- friends. I won't say any names here, but he was loved in the world of basketball. Tall, dark, handsome, easy going guy who is gone because he had one fault in life. One demon that he couldn't conquer. I only have a little bit of advice to share and that is make peace with whatever has taken you astray. Quietly apologize to anyone who you may have hurt.
