    Yeah Bud Melman was a fairly famous comedian who did crazy things onstage and when interviewing people on the street. Letterman was a big fan and friend of his. Bud was the cousin of the late DeForest Kelley who played Dr. McCoy on the original Star Trek with William Shatner. Sadly, Bud passed away in 2007.

    He was known as "Bud" Melman. His real name was Larry Melman and he was associated with I believe David Letterman in his early years. Bud passed not long after this video was released.
