Officially, my mind is blown. Just got my first ever 3d printer and the test print was amazing, this however has just blown my mind. Not sure I'd ever be as creative as you though! Well done. Bravo.
Estupendo trabajo, me encantan tus vídeos 👍
That's completely awesome! Haven't seen too many different colored bottles besides clear and green, (USA) but still an incredible project. 👍🏻 Going to check out the FAQ. Subscribed !
Really this video has enlightened to those who use 3D printing machine and are lurching for the filament yarn consumables. If you can give a rough sketch of the items needed to make such an extruder it will avoid the enthusiasts to procure the right materials for fabricating such an extruder. Thanks and Kudos for your DIY which will definitely invite the attention of serious DIYers.

Love your machine!! I want to make one to but for abs edge banding left overs from work. Do you know if it’s possible to control your machine using an old skr mini board? Thx in advance
If this really works 3d printing would be more economical. Not only PET is everywhere, it is also recyclable. I've never tried 3d printing before but I'm not so sure if it'll work the same way as a normal one.
I've wanted this exact same setup for years now. My question is cause I use clear water bottles to do the same thing? Thanks for the video. Any help on building it would be greatly appreciated.
This is a really cool set up! Where can I find the info if I wanted to do this myself? Also, do you I have a set up for preparing used material for reuse, like for "print testing" material? I imagine if you were able to prepare the material into a compatible shape for this machine (a tubular shape made of used material film), you could use this set up as well!
@@function3Dhello again thanks for the link. using the information you provide and doing some calculations the maths say that you need about 27.77~ hours to make 1kg of PET, without taking into account bottle preparation and stuff. this was calculated using 18cm of filament per minute and an average 1.5L bottle giving you 5m in total of filament. Does this sounds about or approximately right to you?
@@RockoShaw I have never made 1.5L bottles that give only 5m, not worth it, the ones you see in my videos are the dark blue 1.5L that give me 25g or 10m each, I do not take into account the times, it takes 40 for 1 kg, or 8L bottles as I explain in the information that I give you.
This is pretty cool. Seeing how he fused this to another roll would that be a small issue with quality prints? If not it could be an easy ebay sale right there. Make this and sell it.
We should write to bottles manufacturers and ask them to make more flat bottles that can be easily transformed into filaments. There are not many flat-surfaced bottles like these...
Most bottles are not flat. You can use heat to flatten them. I screw on the cap and then hold the bottle over a heat gun and let the pressure inside the bottle push the lines out until it becomes flat.
Hello, I tried like you to weld the fart with the candle but how do you do it to properly welding in your printer? Me the filament blocks in the Boden in terms of welding, it is a big problem for me to use PET in long length, thank you.
Great work👍 Im having difficulties welding pet bottle recycled filament. I tried to weld it like you do in your video but it broke right after bending it a little. Do you have any tips for this?

Congrats on ownership of your first 3D printer! I hope to get one at some point as well.
Hey definitely helpful to someone who is interested in getting into getting into the same set up
Look up igor tylaman i think is his name. Along with “PETMachine”
There are STL files and instructions on how to make one pretty easily
Looks fun and interesting.
@@ale171997 that's another guy and another project. Similar but not the same
Love your work, you inspired me into getting into the hobby. I am now also building a PET upcycler.

This is how you save money from buying 3D print filament.
And thanks for the proper demonstration!
This should be really helpful for the first timer.
This is so delightful to see. Well done in so many parts put together to make recycling work!
Oh God! I can just see the cuts happening from that drill winding
Funny, that was my exact thought as well!
Thank you!! This is so cool! Thanks for showing the fusing the filament together.
That's completely awesome! Haven't seen too many different colored bottles besides clear and green, (USA) but still an incredible project. 👍🏻 Going to check out the FAQ. Subscribed !
Yes I wonder where that blue bottle is from
I think colored plastic is much difficult to recycle, that's why clear ones are better in general (?)
Definitely you are an environment friendly person. Great job 👍
Awesome video.
Love how everything just goes together.
End product looks brilliant! I don't think I have your patience but your product is amazing!

That is truly amazing!
Very creative and commendable outside-the-box thinking!
Very nice!
About time somebody had a convincing solution.
Some guys are up there high in the clouds they work it out pass the knowledge on to others and bingo super respect
Awesome ! Exactly what I was looking for 👍
Beautiful and good done
👀 wow amazing 👍
Nicely done!
Thanks

Now just need to convince plastic bottle manufacturers to make more cemetric bottles for easier recycling, great work!
I’m very jealous of these blue bottles.
He (or someone else) showed using Sharpie color scribbles before stripping to change the color from clear. Looked great!
amazing.. keep up the good work

This is amazing. I would buy one of these if it reached the point where I could place a bottle in and it does the rest.
That is very unlikely to happen
unlikely doesn't mean impossible, whoever gets it done: that persons files will be praised. this would be automated upcycling next level!
WOW Absolute cool
thats so cool. great work.
Super impressive
Pretty smart pretty smart

Precioso. Good work

Awesome 👌🏾 You should look into printing and building a Rook 3D printer with this recycled filament and posting it on the Discord.
just need these on a massive scale.

Recycling at its best. Very well done 👍 wonder if the PET degrades through multiple heat treatments.
I have never tried it because I don't have the necessary machinery for that
Better than make more new plastics arround the world.

good job, looks really good. What kind of printing profile do you use to print this? Normal PETG profile?
I print at 255°C(ender3), 230°C(Kobra go), everything else as PLA

I gotta ask man, when are you printing a printer with the recycled filament?
Your gears setup looks like the cable car museum in SF
Great thing. Espicially for countrys were the bottels don't get recycled.
Hello, one bottle how much is it roughly in length of PET? 1kg filament is over 300m. I'm wondering how many bottles takes in average to make 1kg
Depends on the bottle function3d.xyz/en/faqs/?Display_FAQ=268

The joint is weak and breaks easily when bent, so I use especially large spools to prevent the joints from bending too much

What about changing waste or failed prints back into filament?
That requires much more expensive and complicated machinery

If you bend the joint it breaks, you can't expect anything else, ua-cam.com/video/Z8sUSofGRfQ/v-deo.htmlsi=x5TT7sWyvm8zGS87
Nice...but would it not be easier to splice the plastic bottle side rather than the finished product side of things?
