I remeber seeing the Carousel the first time i was there when they open those doors it was like I died and went to heaven Me myself I own 7 player pianos and 3 of them are nickelodions but the Millhous has a breath taking collection of them
Yes I did, but they're mostly short clips, as we were limited for time and in some there is speech over them as an explanation was being given. I've just uploaded the big Mortier and I'll try to find time to put a few more on.

@@Wurlitzer146-A There's be plenty of people who don't know. Most Wurlitzer roll music is totally forgotten. Only a few 1920's music enthusiasts know of it still... and us band organ addicts of course.
Believe me, the band organ is real and working, as is every other item in the collection. The curator told me that they aim to restore every item to 'better' condition than when it was first manufactured. The standard is exceptionally high.
wurlitzerwilly. I do, because the sound gets louder as it gets closer as you go around on the carousel. Plus, the bells sounded like normal bells and not speaker bells.
whoisthisguy724. Dorney's and Kennywood's 153's sound different from this. This organ is more well tuned. Edit: You are probably right though. It's all opinionsz really. I just thought it was like the actual Wurlitzer 153 by it's owner.
I wonder where this carousel is at now? Would be great if it was made public or something, it's even better that it has a Wurlitzer 153 on it in absolutely pristine condition(although the facade is not original), something that you'd only get from those who can actually afford to have such a restoration... not every Wurlitzer 153 owner can. Some people attempt to fix Wurlitzer 153's themselves, I heard that Jeff Bryner(or Jeffers153) did that to his one in a team effort with others. It sounds good but not as good as when Wurlitzer 153's are entirely gone through... like this organ, Bushnell Park's organ(except for the Tubas, that organ's tubas are slightly out of tune), Matt Jaro's, Arnold L. Chase's, the 153 at Dr Ted's Musical Marvels(it stayed in it's shipping crate for over 50 years as the original owner died, it was found in the 1970's, fished out and is totally original, I don't think it was ever majorly restored), William E. Black's Wurlitzer 153(Now at American Treasure Tour), Canobie Lake Park's 153, Paul Eakins(now Chris Carlisle, nicknamed Katy Lou)'s 153 and some other 153's.
Sorry, I can't remember where any of the items went, after they were auctioned off. A Google search using the term Milhous Collection should give you some info.
@@wurlitzerwilly I'm quite sure that the auction buyers aren't classified at all on anything. I have heard however that the Wurlitzer 157 is still in Florida, as for the huge Verbeeck-Gaudin, that was auctioned again in 2015 I think and ended up at Stahl's Auto Foundation one time. The big Mortier was also auctioned again. Did the Milhous Bros. own a Wurlitzer 150 at all? That also appeared at Stah's Auto...
What a lovely sounding organ
The tune is "Boots and Saddles" if I'm not mistaken...
That Wurlitzer 153 sounds very good!

@anglerfly Believe me, it's definitely a 153! This 153 sounds a lot like the one at Kennywood, actually...
It sounds like itself!
@@peihanyu2610 You're right!
Wow, that organ sounds fantastic! No snare though? That's interesting.
The snare wasn't used.
What exactly do they have at the Milhous collections? I see various types of Mechanical Music machinery, as well as some vintage cars (?).

I've just uploaded the big Mortier and I'll try to find time to put a few more on.
Love It!😊
2:18 Please remain seated until the carousel comes to a complete stop!
Must be you I'm afraid. To double check I just loaded it into Premiere Pro and stepped it through and you can clearly see the beater moving. :-)
The snare wasn't used for this song.

@CBF1 well said! And even then still to this day there are many unknown tunes in the catalog that know one has no idea of the tune names.
Is it just me or was the snare drum not working?
It wasn't used.
Just wondering also this is a huge a collection!
Is the Milhous collection open to the public or anything? A Google search for it turns up nothing.

wurlitzerwilly. Have you ever rode the Hershey Park Carousel? It has a band organ that sounds close to the Wurlitzer 153 band organ Hurdy. Enjoy.
