Love this! Can I ask you the best route to go for getting more paint for your buck?.. I just started about a month ago and I'm finding that paint is pretty expensive. (Like everything I guess) but I see you have a good amount of quality paint and figured I'd ask. 😊
Thank you, Jenna! When I started out, I thought the thing to do was pick up whatever was the cheapest craft paint I could find at Walmart. But, if I knew then what I know now, I would have bought a few descent quality tube paints in brands like Liquitex basics or Amsterdam and tried mixing my own colors rather than buying every color out there. With the better paints, you can just thin with water if needed so eliminate pouring medium. You don't have to go for the most expensive like Golden or Windsor and Newton to get gorgeous results. I just feel like you get the most bang for your buck using even a mid quality brand tube paint because they are made with more concentrated pigments and less water so they cost more initially but go farther. Hope that helps and best wishes on your creations! ❤️👍💓

Hi Lisa, I’m intrigued after watching this video and have many questions, is the satin enamel base just a mix of acrylics or is house paint used as in a normal bloom base. The individual colours are they mixed as per your bloom 2 ingredient mix or just acrylic paints as well? I find that there’s so many different ways to do the same thing in fluid art it gets confusing sometimes, not to mention the differences between countries as I’m in Australia. I love this piece and was hoping to learn more to achieve this.
Hi Penelope, and you're right! There is no one, perfect exact recipe for everyone and that's obvious when you see how everyone does it differently but all getting beautiful results. That alone lets you know you don't have to have everything everyone says you need! lol! The satin enamel paint I use is from DecoArt and I just mix it with the US Floetrol. I think most house paints are enamel and would probably work just as well if thinned enough. (The DecoArt SE is much thinner than normal house paint enamel.) It comes in many colors so I don't have to tint it- just add Floetrol. The individual colors you asked about are made with my 2-ingredient mix + whatever acrylic or pigment color I want. Hope that helps!!!❤️💕💖
