    Best Best AAR videos about Point Blank by far ! You have the perfect rhythm. You provide the right level of explanation without spending hours on any single action . Congrats !

      Thanks very much for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm happy to hear about the balance between explanation and gameplay. That's something I try to pay attention to but it's not always easy to get right. Thanks!

    That was fun. The result I was expecting at the start of this episode was the Germans to hold out.

      Good call! I was thinking the Canadians could roll them, but I think they needed that Piat to hit once. :)

    23:54 it would be good also to show the overruns by AFV against infantry or against AFV what is i think more complicated as infantry vs infantry melee.

      Yes, ideally I'd like to show more of a lot of games we look at, but something like this isn't really designed to be comprehensive so much as show people how gameplay works and give people an overall sense of how the game works. These episodes/series can get really big and long when I try to bite off too much. :)

    Excellent video again. Thank you
    You certainly have the rules nailed. They are confusing in places...but you pretty much had them at the get go. You forgot some outside rules but that's always too be expected. I was impressed with your understanding of the game

    I want to compliment you on your use of black screen transitions. A very relaxed "take a breath" moment between turns. I might have to use that.

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for noticing! Lately, I've been trying to use fade to black when there is a bit more of a break, and just simple crossovers when it's within turn. I wasn't sure if anyone consciously notices that stuff. :)

      @@ZillaBlitz I'm of the opinion that the best editing effects are the ones no one notices.
      What editing software do you use? I use Filmora, but I am thinking about switching to DaVinci Resolve.

    Great video, Zilla. Poor Sgt. Tremblay bites the dust in a losing cause. I guess the Canucks should have assaulted that farmhouse in greater strength. And they were victimized by poor dice picks, especially that PIAT which apparently couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn. Maybe if you had gotten it closer? Anyway, good play through, as always. Really looking forward to your next one, whatever it is!

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  Рік тому

      Thanks, Stephen! Yes, I think there are a lot of other ways I could have handled this. Getting the PIAT one sector closer would have given it a +1 on its to hit roll, which would have made it a 6, and that could have made a huge difference. I think getting Sgt. Tremlay out of the Clear would have helped too. Having said that, the Canadians shot really poorly the whole time. All it would have taken would have been one hit from the PIAT and it could have put the Germans in a position where they could have struggled to recover from.

      Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it, Lile! Canadians really couldn't hit anything with their shots. Just one hit with that PIAT would have really turned things around. But they went 0-3 with that thing. :)

    Not the finish I was hoping for, but a great playthrough nonetheless. The cards were killer for the Canadians. 😧

    • @ZillaBlitz
      @ZillaBlitz  Рік тому

      To be fair, I think the Canadians getting stuck behind that stream made it really tough for them. I should have concentrated on getting that Piat closer and in better cover, I think. It was tricky with the one-turn limit, because they didn't have a lot of time to be cute. But fun playthrough to do and I'm glad you liked it! :)

    I wanted to say thanks to you for making this review. I only found your channel a few months but really like how you review these games and the play through you make of them. When I first learn about this game I was really curious about it. While I really enjoy grand strategic scale games, squad level ones are my real favourites. That being said, I will be passing on this one for the following reasons :
    1. The terrain mechanics. Now I do understand why it’s made like this, in order to make the game have a level of re-play that makes it attractive for the players. However for me it really doesn’t do it, I find it just way too random for the game play and to chaotic for my liking.
    2. Too many cards. I find that all this card picking makes the entire game and board just too busy and messy.
    So I think I’ll just stick with Squad Leader, the grand daddy of squad games or the recent The Last Hundred Yards. Still this was a great review of the game

      Thanks for the kind words, Patrick, and I'm glad you're enjoying the channel! And every game isn't for everyone. Your reasoning makes sense to me. I find myself really enjoying the chaos and unpredictability that the terrain system engenders, but I can see how it's not for all. Thanks for stopping in! :)
