Man as an old RTS gamer I would love to play this but I just don't have the time anymore for huge learning curves. I remember Kenshi took me about 2 weeks to get down and Hearts of Iron 3 and 4 took almost a month to learn all the ins and outs lol.
I literally started the game the day you posted this comment and im telling you the game is surprising intuitive for how complicated it looks, the game starts you up simple but then introduces mote challenges as your settlement grows and start having higher expectations, it’s a reallyyy good game
It's like learning how to ride a bike, it's difficult at first but it isn't that overly complicated, there are somethings that are a bit confusing but a quick look at the in-game wiki will answer your questions
As someone who got this game not that long ago, the early game is actually really easy to learn and very intuitive. All you need to do is think about what would a town need for you to feel comfortable and then give it to them. Watch a few tutorials in your spare time, once you feel confident in the menu layout and the early game essentials, give it a go!
Ive come from Dwarf Fortress, rimworld, and CDDA, SOS is extremely user-friendly and easy to learn. If anything it reminds me of Age of Empires mixed with SimCity 4. Its more like RimWorld with it's HUD and UI
Look up Ic0n gaming. Watch his most recent walk through for version .66 ,he does a breakdown on everything he is doing and why, follow his guide in the background while playing and you should get a good hang of it. I failed like 6 playthroughs back to back before stumbling across his videos lmfao. Now my people are thriving. However I'm still in the small settlement stage with about 120 people and haven't gotten to the point of building an army yet. But his walk through covers everything. This is a game where you are meant to fail repeatedly, keep at it and you will get the hang of things. Good luck!
It's quite easy if you gradually build your settlement. At first I build "base camp", first of all you need to secure food. Then you lay foundation for further population
Yes my biggest problem at the time of my comment was that i didn't know that pop's didn't just show up and you had to let them in. I have had a few thousand runs since now.@@milkshake9394

best way to start is play with one of the factions that say easy, see what they produce more of than anything and go from there. garthimi do auroch best so you can start clothing from leather right away, and good money from trading export too

Try the demo, turn the settings down to easiest possible and just have at! Have fun at your own pace. 😊
Man this game is so good
This game reminds me if Total War had come out for SNES. I love it too 😂😂
Okay, the heck with it.. I'm going in..
Man I wish I could figure out how to actually play this game

Im feeling that as well lol. Picked it up yesterday and having fun but dayum its confusing
It's very intuitive, other than some weird thing here and there, you can learn how to make everything on your own
A lot of ketchup
Is there any game with a fighting mechanism similar to this game?
Not to this extent no, these guys all have like simulated lives if they're army troops
@@_fiend I just wanna say that Manor Lords has a similar army system where the people also has lives outside the army/millitia
Rome Total War
I tried the demo but was struggling how to play.
It's a tough game to learn, just keep going at it

Solo preocúpate por la comida, yo sigo probando el juego en demo. Y llevo 22 horas de juego y aún se me dificulta, pero es bastante bueno.
Definitely has a learning curve, might suggest just watching a youtube video of someone playing it to gather your initial bearings at least.
