@@NOYB11 still learning, in the demo footwork is non existent so I have to get good. I've noticed a few moves though, especially when you get you legs close together. I played football in hs so I am simply using my knowledge from that. I'll likely watch real sparring to see some strikes and stances

@@_fiend i do longsword sparring at my local HEMA club and it's a great time. i can say for sure that i've tripped myself up like that more than once lol. gives you a good opportunity when your opponent crosses their legs to step perpendicularly, pressure them and they will fall over

@@purplemilk4453 Yep, I just gotta learn to stop running as much, I use shift key a lot. I've been practicing with armor more, learning when and where not to move. Halfsword as it stands is my in my top 10 games of all time and it ain't even done!

@@_fiend Not a bad take as it's my opinion and explanation of why I personally don't enjoy this version. Calm yourself right down. I'm aware of what it is, as I said in my comment. I don't think it's a "proof of concept for mechanics" however. It's a version to show at a trade show or exhibition that prohbits mature content as children attend. I don't have a problem with this in and of itself. I just think that without the gore (And thus any real feedback to the combat) it's a much worse game.

@@Trafulgoth yep as true to most games set in this setting, you can only swing three times before you enter extreme stamina drain. The game is at least funny, and I enjoy the physics

@@axscy9685 I will be be putting in far too many hours, sadly a ton of footage of me owning people got corrupted by the game, but I plan to play this a lot on the channel/maybe do some guides for strikes as I've gotten quite good. I love the unarmored sword combat, one bad move bad you're dead. So many good games coming this next half of 2024

Full game is for sure gonna have all the gore, this was a player test for a live event in Japan so they turned it off for discretion. Devs stated their intent is to have put it in, but wanted us to get a chance with the new mechanics.

@@D3DNS1D3 no usually because the new humans replacing the old are smarter, it's weird but tech isn't as valuable as admin. If you lose admin too long you lose all regions pop

@@_fiend that's only the case if you have schools up and running though, right? I mean, does the game take away bonuses to like hearth, well etc upgrades. Obviously it doesn't the visual, but maybe the math part. No worries, I've watched a sht ton of your videos and learned a lot so far. Just over 350 hrs in about 2 months😮. @@D3DNS1D3 Tbh if I dug into why the tech is low its likely a breakdown in workers, some may have covered the humans while they trained, or they may have simply not been working. I sit around -1k or 20k so it never matters, just add another library. Its one of those things I ignore, also thank you for the support, it helps a lot. I hate it, but its the only way to tell youtube that my video is worthy lol.

Yep, my mistake was thinking my right arm was stronger at the end, I still had a good swing in the left arm. I was mostly shocked I took a giant axe to the neck and survived.

I haven't come across any real challenge after the first winter, I even lost both elders to aging in bad rng (Willias wife Dorothea died a day or two after him) but was lucky and got a immigrant women who as pregnant with twins and married the elder son

@@_fiend Hard core? Lemmy guess, its Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic? I tried to learn it, but the complexity of it broke me and I was not having fun, at all. Zero fun. Zilch. Nada. To this day its the only game that broke me so hard. Would watch it though.

@@Sviatoslav_The_Brave Yep lmao, it breaks many a fine lad, ive been learning so I don't come in a complete noob and make a cringe series, I used to play back before helicopters, but starting from a realistic start ive managed to build everything up until I need them to build power lol
