Oh yeah... Now you just have to read "It almost ends but not that much actually (the author has to eat) with us" and then you'll understand the powerful message
All I know about Colleen Hoover is that every book she’s wrote in the past ~3 years have always been displayed as a man sized pyramid of wasted paper in every book shop I’ve ever step foot in
The fact that It Ends With Us is a bio of her mom's abuse and its sold under romance, ON PURPOSE. The fact she used to be (or still is?) a social worker and labels abuse as romance?? It tells you what you need to know about her. Those poor trees
And it's always a giant square or pyramid for some reason that is not touched. Whenever I walk in it's not touch, I've seen literally everything around it touched but that pyramid of Colleen Hoover books is an untouched pyramid perfectly made.
As someone who's just here for the funni skits and doesn't read, everytime you upload a video like "why does the internet love this book" i'm like "ah yes i am the internets and i totally love this book"
I work in a library and it can’t be understated how popular Hoover is. I don’t think any of her books have returned to the shelves in years because they are in constant circulation. The guy that is managing our e-collection jokes all he does is order Hoover book licenses all day. Even though she’s not my taste (and seems to romanticize abuse?) what you said at 7:23 is important: she’s getting people to read again
ive been wondering lately, genuinely and not trying to be cynical/snarky: is it truly good that more people are reading, completely independent of the content?
@@kukachoo42 Yes personally I think that bringing reading back is something positive and helps people fall in love with an amazing thing and amazing stories. I felt the exact same way with “Twilight” by Stephanie Meyer. It’s incredibly readable even if it’s contextually very very bad. Sooo many people started reading because of Twilight - like, A TON of people (mostly young women looking for escapism) I feel that Colleen Hoover somehow managed to break into that same well that Meyer did almost two decades ago.
I really appreciate that you’re actually trying to define what is making her books the most popular in the world right now instead of just trashing not mainstream for the writing being so simple.
