  • Hello Peps, Just another little upgrade for The Shed. in this one were fitting a car wiper motor to my mill so I can have a power feed for long cuts,
and as you can tell from the video I change my design a few times just as it develops,
I'm really happy with how it ended up. but I still need a bigger power supply 6a isn't quite enough, but works just fine for now..

Im making a power feed for my x2 mini mill.the clutch and drive will be 3/4 inch hex bar threaded on the table leadscrew and a 19mm socket with a cross pin fixed on the motor end.

I did this on my mill, easy job to do, but found it toooooo slow in both directions,so took it off and fitted a proper Bridgeport type drive, much better job

The wiper motor ALSO got very, very hot within 30 seconds of use, so hot I could not even touch it.

By the way these wiper motors will TAKE 24volts as well as 12volts with no problems

@@carlmcferran9371 yep I'm running 19 volts through mine for more speed with no problems.

Hello Thank-you for the comment 👍🏻
My DRO is just a Chinese one from Banggood. Its held up well and surprisingly accurate.

I have the same motor and have 18v in it, no problems. I have tried 24v, seems to work fine. I would think if your using it for long periods of milling it might get hot

Hello Tom thank-you for watching. This is the controller I used but it is just a generic 12v one. DC Motor Speed Controller DC 12-60V 40A PWM Speed Control Regulator DC Variable Frequency Driver - CW CCW Reversible Switch amzn.eu/d/cBOu29L

@@AndrewBoulton I was wanting more info on the on/off black switch for controller to keep motor from getting hot. It looks more elaborate than a simple on/off toggle switch. I’m also having trouble finding the 300x220x120 enclosure here in US, but still looking. Thanks
