I've never been sadder over the course of a time about a celebrities death than I was about Dime's.... Much love to this community and the world who remembers him.
To add to that legend of their performance..... seeing docs that they came from other shows, flew straight over, got off the plane tired as hell and looking like death, went practically straight to stage, and put possibly the best performance of the show on.
The band got a call saying "band x has cancelled on us, can you fill in?" and two days later this show was filmed. All that Pantera as a band is is encapsulated in this video. They gave their all, and it was amazing.
Who’d have thought when we would see them in front of a handful of people when they started, that they would play in front of over a million people at once. Too amazing.
I got to see these guys at Ozzfest, 2 days in a row. Shortly before the end of Pantera. Brought some friends who Han never been near a mosh pit. All 3 of them came out missing shoes, ripped shirts, lumped up.. And my skinny ass just laughed, and went back in to find their shoes. Good times.
I was lucky twice. This performance has to be one other best ever recorded....simply, unbelievably brutal and PERFECT. Brings a tear to my eye too man.
This is the same concert in Russia in 1991 which Metallica played on... Pantera was still new to the global scene, so they performed before Metallica... and AC/DC were the main headliner of the concert - 1 million people showed up cos it was free, courtesy of the Russian government. Pantera were literally on fire 🔥🔥🤘🤘during the early 90's... Phil Anselmo was a phenomenal vocalist (you know he's singing live cos he changed some words from the studio version) and Dimebag Darrell (guitar) was the king of the stage. In later years, Phil started using heroin (around '96) and drinking heavily because of a back injury... it affected his performances... Dimebag on the other hand was always hammered, but the band's crew were shocked that he always performed incredibly even when he was drunk out of his mind 🤣
Cowboys from Hell is a perfect album. No track deserves to be skipped. Definitely check it out. That shit changed my life as a young boy. Absolute fire
I love the fact you read all about the band when you first discover them. I've watched many of your videos but missed the past two Pantera reactions until I saw this post. Since I knew you read about the bands I went back to your other two videos and watched those to see your reaction when reading. Love seeing your passion for music. Thanks for sharing your reactions
It’s my most seen live video ever! I am blessed that I saw pantera 1994, and I swear although I was 15 I will always remember this concert as the best of my life! Ps: cowboys from hell is their best album imo
They're from Arlington, Tx, home of the Cowboys and Rangers. About 25 miles from my home. They were fans of the Dallas Stars hockey team and wrote and played a theme song for the team that the Stars entered the rink to the season they won the Stanley Cup...
Dime is a legend in metal guitarist circles and with fans. He is widely respected and had a very unique tone, very hard to replicate. His riffs are incredible, solo's are phenomenal. I think you would like Revolution is my Name by Pantera and the video is cool as well, Thank me later.
Love this. I was fortunate enough to see Pantera a few times. As amazing as this is, I don't think there's any way to capture how intense those shows were. Getcha pull
You got 2 of the best so far so I can see why it's hard to pick, I like 5 Minutes Alone a lot too and I'm Broken, both off the Far Beyond Driven album, you should check out one of those next, I'd say I'm Broken
What you see here is why bands did not enjoy headlining over Pantera........ what was especially amazing about dime is he regularly was on stage shit faced drunk and could still play like that. I've tried playing obliterated numerous times, like he did, and it was almost always an instant fail. My personal pantera favorites are between this, 5 minutes alone, and becoming
I pictured the Abbott brothers sitting on their kiss kaskets, Dimebag with the original Van Halen 2, yellow black EVH, waiting at the gates for Eddie. Waiting for you, let’s go rock this mfer!
If you like Pantera Live just for listening, they released an Album called "Official Live: 101 Proof" with their best live recording in my opinion! I loved Dime, he could go so wild in solos but maintain ALL the feel while doing so.
Thanks for your reactions, and always showing respect for the music and musicians - It matters to me, and speaks well of you. In this video, you can hear how hard Phil Anselmo is singing because it's so loud on stage. I think when it shows him squatting, he's in front of a monitor (the speakers facing the band).
Sure hope you aint saying they sound the same. That shits laughable dude. Metalica has their own sound. Pantera is a fukn universe of break shit go to jail sound! Man, dont get those to mixed up. They are not the same! 😂
Dime was one of the few elites that didn't have to compromise his studio recorded solos, he could play them exactly the same if he wanted to. His rhythm were a little different because he couldn't dub in over acoustics or have a rhythm and solo simultaneously
Was looking through a discussion yesterday and folks were saying that Dime did not belong among the greatest like My Man Randy Rhoads or EVH. I call bullshit. Dime was a Riffmaster and a phenomenal soloist. He will forever be , The Man. He paid his dues and music will never forget him or his bafass Bro Vinnie.
Dimebag, Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughn are the best guitar players ever! In my opinion they played the guitar beyond what the way it was meant to be played
My man please do heresy live!! This is the best version and you'll see how. Good this is!! It's the best live version and he sounds so good live everyone does!! How can I get you to do this song? Patreon ? Please !
Cowboys From Hell is GREAT and a breakthrough for them, however, not the best album, imp. The albums kept getting harder and harder and it was GLORIOUS!! It's a toss up for me as to the best album but I think Vulgar Display and Far Beyond Driven BUT they all are great! Saw them live 5 times and once Phil smoked a joint I threw on stage!!
RIP to the Abbott brothers !
Dimebag's death ranks as probably one of the most shocking deaths in rock history.
My daughter was with his daughter that night- at a Manson concert here in Dallas.
Among the saddest. Right up there with John Lennons assassination. My favorite guitarist 🎸
I've never been sadder over the course of a time about a celebrities death than I was about Dime's.... Much love to this community and the world who remembers him.
@@christophermeier8329Except the fact that Darrell was actually a really decent human
This was the same concert 🤘🔥❤️
To add to that legend of their performance..... seeing docs that they came from other shows, flew straight over, got off the plane tired as hell and looking like death, went practically straight to stage, and put possibly the best performance of the show on.
PanterA 33
This was the pinnacle of live performances.
Who ever mic’ed Vinnie’s drums deserves an award.
You're mostly hearing triggers, but that doesn't take anything away from VP's playing. That was just his choice of approach.
Facts. Vinnie was slammin em that day
God damn right!
Did he use triggers back then? Just curious
They owned this Moscow concert festival - DIME FOREVER!
That mouth open blank stare during the solo is indeed the correct reaction !
Best breakdown in history!
Pantera Best Metal band ever to me. But still to this day, Nobody can make a guitar SCREAM the way Dimebag could 🤘🤘 R.i.p. Dime& Vinnie
The band got a call saying "band x has cancelled on us, can you fill in?" and two days later this show was filmed. All that Pantera as a band is is encapsulated in this video. They gave their all, and it was amazing.
8:34 - yes sir! THAT is the correct response!! 🤘
8:58 is a suitable response as well.
Who’d have thought when we would see them in front of a handful of people when they started, that they would play in front of over a million people at once. Too amazing.
Joe's Garage?
Literally have seen them perform in an unpacked bar. Early on in Lawton, Oklahoma
Good job man, thinking about the metallica Russia show because that's what this is where that was at.
I got to see them live in 95. Absolutely phenomenal show. RIP Dime Bag and Vinnie.
Good times.
I was lucky enough to see them in the 90s like maybe 7 times. Amazing band. That breakdown makes me cry every time I hear it…
I was lucky twice.

Pro tip:Once you know the lyrics you can easily hear what he says. Great reaction. Pantera is my favorite band.
Cowboys from Hell is a perfect album. No track deserves to be skipped. Definitely check it out. That shit changed my life as a young boy. Absolute fire
Thats 1991 in the Soviet Union with 1.6 million fans, 10,000 police millitary and KGB, with 50 deaths from clashes with the man.
Dominate!
They were the opening act for this concert …. Imagine trying to follow that.
Might be the best live metal recording of all time.
Not might, it is....🤘🤘
Ain't no "might be" about it! It absolutely is the best!
Was wandering when you'd get to this one. Flawless live guitar solo by Dimebag.
As soon as you threw your arms up at the end of the song, I knew you've become one of us 🤘🏼
Keep em coming please!! More pantera please please
Man your Head banging was Spot On !!! ❤ ❤
Revolution is my name
I went to Montreal last week to see pantera………Mouth for War is my personal favourite
I saw them in Virginia this year. It reignited my love for Pantera. Every album is my favorite but Vulgar stands out
I love the fact you read all about the band when you first discover them. I've watched many of your videos but missed the past two Pantera reactions until I saw this post. Since I knew you read about the bands I went back to your other two videos and watched those to see your reaction when reading. Love seeing your passion for music. Thanks for sharing your reactions
You definitely need to dig deep in the rabbit hole of Pantera albums.
This is about as Live as it gets!!
Some boys from Texas killin the soviet union 🎉😂🤘
First metal show in Russia. I taped it off the radio. Pantera opened. 1989 MONSTERS OF Rock
Great reaction
Got to see these guys in the mid nineties. RIP my face
It’s my most seen live video ever! I am blessed that I saw pantera 1994, and I swear although I was 15 I will always remember this concert as the best of my life!
Ps: cowboys from hell is their best album imo
Watching you fall in love with dime in front of the camera was very touching to me😂.
This was Pantera introducing themselves to the world. They opened for Metallica and other headliners of the time.
They're from Arlington, Tx, home of the Cowboys and Rangers. About 25 miles from my home. They were fans of the Dallas Stars hockey team and wrote and played a theme song for the team that the Stars entered the rink to the season they won the Stanley Cup...
Great reaction 👍
My all time favorite band, Pantera. You should listen to all of it but I would suggest Medicine Man for you next. Loved your reaction 😎👍
Dime is a legend in metal guitarist circles and with fans. He is widely respected and had a very unique tone, very hard to replicate. His riffs are incredible, solo's are phenomenal. I think you would like Revolution is my Name by Pantera and the video is cool as well, Thank me later.
Oh my god I had my speaker all the way up when you yelled and scared the shit out of my cat🤣
Bad for speakers and ears too, he should not do that.
Oh good He’s one of your favorites, I’m sure he’s elated.
This has to be Top 5 best live video all time.
Rock/Metal 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love this. I was fortunate enough to see Pantera a few times. As amazing as this is, I don't think there's any way to capture how intense those shows were. Getcha pull
I saw them live in 1995 and they sound like they did on the CD. And the energy from them OMFG it was amazing.
It does sound great especially when you aren't talking!!!!!!
You need to do " 5 minutes alone" by Pantera. Or "Becoming "
Try the Reinventing the Steel and Great Southern Trendkill albums. Floods and Revolution Is My Name are two of my go to's lol
Rock on 🤘🏻
You got 2 of the best so far so I can see why it's hard to pick, I like 5 Minutes Alone a lot too and I'm Broken, both off the Far Beyond Driven album, you should check out one of those next, I'd say I'm Broken
You rock so hard bro! \m/
Primal concrete sledge from this concert is 🔥
What you see here is why bands did not enjoy headlining over Pantera........ what was especially amazing about dime is he regularly was on stage shit faced drunk and could still play like that. I've tried playing obliterated numerous times, like he did, and it was almost always an instant fail.
My personal pantera favorites are between this, 5 minutes alone, and becoming
K now "Walk", "Hollow", "This Love", "5 Minutes Alone", and "I'm Broken"!
I pictured the Abbott brothers sitting on their kiss kaskets, Dimebag with the original Van Halen 2, yellow black EVH, waiting at the gates for Eddie. Waiting for you, let’s go rock this mfer!
Do hollow!
Yep as the comment said before mine same concert dude in moscow.
This was the same concert, moscow 1991, Pantera were the openers
If you like Pantera Live just for listening, they released an Album called "Official Live: 101 Proof" with their best live recording in my opinion!
I loved Dime, he could go so wild in solos but maintain ALL the feel while doing so.
Pantera's my fav metal band of all time seen em live 3 times before Dime was murdered check out IM BROKEN great song cool video.
Don't feel bad, I've been a Metal Head for decades and I still miss most of the lyrics. But then, I'm mostly focused on the drums and guitars. 😏🤘🏽
This video is from the same Metallica concert in Moscow. Pantera was the opening act along with the Black Crows and AC/DC!!!!
You gotta do Walk!! Do the music video
It's the same concern in Moscow. 1.6 million people attended
One of the hardest riffs ever wrote
This was the last gig before Rex knew he had to drop his bass about 8 inches so he could lay it down properly.
"It reminds me of Metallica in Russia 1991". LOL. Same concert my man.
Same exact concert my man.
Imo dimebag was one of the top 10 if not 5 greatest guitar players ever.
This man gotta react to Floods by Pantera... most feeling solo ever
Because they opened for Metallica. That's why it looks similar. 😁
And James Hetfield admits that tour Pantera absolutely killed it.
Sure hope
you aint saying they sound the same.
That shits laughable dude. Metalica has their own sound.
Pantera is a fukn universe of break shit go to jail sound!
Man, dont get those to mixed up. They are not the same! 😂

Fuckn Dime we miss you RIP!!
Funny thing is I think this live version sounds better than the actual album recording.
Saw them in st louis at club 367...the begining of the tour...and the end of the tour was there...saw both shows....just like the cd....
Agony is the price that you pay in the end.
Domination consumes you and calls you a friend
DIMEBAG ÚNICO EN SU ESPECIE WOWW MAN
This was the same show as the Metallica. They opened the show for them. 1.6 million people there.
Now you’ve gotta do Cowboys From Hell
Who else just hunts down reactions to this video to see the breakdown?
They were on the bill in Russia that day 1m plus
Check out Dime's solo on Floods!🔥
I saw them at a a small club in Houston, TX. The police stopped the show for "inciting a riot".
It reminds you of the Metallica video because Pantera was playing the same venue!
Weren't too many out of shape rockers in the 80's and early 90's.
My man please do heresy live!! This is the best version and you'll see how. Good this is!! It's the best live version and he sounds so good live everyone does!! How can I get you to do this song? Patreon ? Please !
ua-cam.com/video/LlNkj9zVV8E/v-deo.htmlsi=EOXPRZDln5jkbQxv

Same day
Who's gonna tell him?
Cowboys From Hell is GREAT and a breakthrough for them, however, not the best album, imp. The albums kept getting harder and harder and it was GLORIOUS!! It's a toss up for me as to the best album but I think Vulgar Display and Far Beyond Driven BUT they all are great! Saw them live 5 times and once Phil smoked a joint I threw on stage!!
Was "Becoming" meant to be a proper pun? Just curious
Dime was the best
it reminds you of Metallica in Moscow because its the same concert lmao
