- My young female Tliltocatl sabulosum (formerly Brachypelma sabulosum) molting. Took about 6 hours of her laying on her back and 1 hour approx. to break out of it.
Tarantulas molt in order to grow. It takes a lot of energy so when they finish they will take a long rest. It’s important to keep them hydrated at this time as their exoskeletons are still soft, they won’t hunt or eat until their exoskeleton and fangs harden up, which can take days or weeks.

No it is not the tarantula is just coming out of its old skin so it’s a bit twitchy twitchy but in a few minutes it’ll be right back up and hardening
