The level of coordination that most ants have is honestly very frightening and interesting at the same time the only other insect that I know that has this level of coordination is robber flies
Shit, Dude... you answered a question I have been thinking about for weeks. There was a large wasps nest in a tree in my yard. Saw ants crawling in and out of it one day. Thought the ants and wasps had some symbiotic relationship. A few days later all activity in the nest stopped. Waited a few more days and took the nest down...looked inside...no one home. I remember watching a documentary about ants when I was a kid, and in that show they talked about ants as being just as intelligent as humans, they have cities, roads, workers, doctors and of course soldiers but damn undertaker's too haha that's fuckin awesome, I'm under the impression now that ants are more intelligent because they know the importance of social distancing and medicine
Those ants from “a bugs life” were just concealing their power amongst those grass hoppers so that no one will get suspicious of the TRUE HORROR that they are capable of doing
My youngest brother, at the age of two, inadvertently sat on a fire ant mound. He just turned 50. I’ve never forgotten the incident and I don’t know if he remembers. It was at Lake Grapevine, Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex in Texas. Mom grabbed him up and jumped in the water with him to get the ants off. It was a crazy experience. 🇺🇸

My dudes literally hold each limb of bugs and each pull their limbs until they rip, they are terrifying
Could you imagine if ants evolved intelligent hiveminds. An ant colony who share a hive mind with the intellect of a human.
I now know why my friend like ants and tells me ant stories about them being overpowered

The Texas Blind Snake (R. dulcis) eats ants, ant larvae, and ant pupae, even Fire Ants.
