@@brianoneil6659 Thank you, Brian. Who could ever forget Mimi Hines? There is no one like her anymore. Her singing and phasing have only gotten better, even at 90.
Mimi's voice was truly amazing. I saw her in Funny Girl 27 glorious times when I was young and she never failed to bring me to tears. She always humbly and graciously received me in her dressing room after the final curtain call, along with Phil Ford and Lily their poodle. I miss those days dearly.
Woooooow! GLORIOUS. So wistfully jealous here! Folks was classy then. I know I sound like an old fuddy-duddy… I’m 63… But… Well… There really was quality there… & not just a lot of orgasmic screaming? Lol. ❤😂🎉
This is such a delight - I love this extended clip. A real glimpse at the glory days of nights clubs of yore. Mimi Hines was such a remarkable talent - funny as hell, and one of the most underrated singers of all time, in my estimation. Check out her version of "Who Are You Now?" also on UA-cam. If anyone has more Mimi clips, I would LOVE to see them.
darling you have the music to make me dance I was just a kid when you sang baby wont you please come home I sing it in my show but I tell them I got it from you see you at your birthday Vincent joseph god bless
rename this Mimi sings "The Music That Makes Me Dance" ...that is what I LIVE FOR IN THIS VIDEO....plus, it's part of her legacy....I want her to play the mom in the revival
It's obvious that Miss Hines is the incarnate of Martha Raye. BUT, with her own personality. Singing, dancing and comedic talent with great timing. I wished that I could have seen her live in "Funny Girl". Sure Streisand would have been nice to see as well but I can see in Miss Heine's performance something more. Only having seen a few numbers she did on variety shows, it's obvious that her rendition of the musical HAD to be incredible!
It’s so seductive, when you have a voice that big, not to go insane with it… Once in a while Barbra Streisand would do that… And even yours truly, mostly back in the day would… Lol… ( I know… Who cares… Lol 😂)- But anyway… Mimi rocks!
Yes, they sure are. In the 1940s, cass daily was a guest in many paramount pictures. She also had the same bad teeth and was always playing a buffoon. (Someone who always thinks that everything they do and say is hilarious) ?! Perhaps this is where she got her comedy from, using in her "funny girl"role. However, she was a very gifted singer.
RIP Mimi. Only just discovered you albeit too late. What a great talent! She should have been a HUGE star.
Happy 90th Birthday, Mimi. You are and will always be a class act. I saw you in Funny Girl in 1966 and I can still hear every note you sang.
She LOVES it when people remember her! I talk with her a few times a week.

Great singer - amazing chops and musicianship. She should have been a much bigger star.
She Was & Is A Much Bigger Star!

Funny Girl TWENTY SEVEN TIMES?? You’re one of the luckiest people in the world!

Absolutely. Incredible singer!
And that little - ok - protracted but great - chipmunk bit is hilarious !! 😂 👏🏼 YAY, Mimi- from one chubby cheeked to another. ❤
She looks so light on her feet I think she's going to lift off and float away!
AMERICAN/CANADIAN LEGEND OF BROADWAY🎭& TELEVISION📺STAR⭐MIMI HINES🌠!
Just brilliant! A treasure of a performer.
We will miss you

That’s a neat idea. 😊
When Streisand left "funny girl" Mimi took over the role. I saw her in it. I have an autographed playbill somewhere.

AAAA ++++
Kookie. But that voice, wow.
She would have been a great opera singer.
There's not a word online about her training, but I'll bet she studied classical voice and ballet, and tap.
She needs very strong direction not to go over the top - the Music That Makes Me Dance is terrific
Agree.

02:33 Am I hearing right?
….meaning..?
We’re now singing the blues about Chicago. It’s a decrepit crime ridden dump today. Sad what it was and what Chicago has become. Sad 😢
Wonder why she always takes her shoes off. Did she ever say. ?
Gifted, yes, but those teeth were a memorable distraction -- as I remember over fifty years ago.
Unfortunate ....
