- Wow this came together SO QUICK! I hope you guys love Magnus as much as I do. Also I hope I differentiated this enough from the Malec Story. I wanted to take out a lot of that and focus on Magnus and his relationships!

Usually,in every other book or movie, people with a past similar to Magnus turned to be the villains of the story. He had faced rejection, abandonment, hatred, racism...His own mother killed herself because she couldnt stand looking at him..And, despite all that, Magnus is the kindest and most generous soul. That alone shows the depth of his kindness, the magnanimity of his strength! In a world that has been so cruel to him he chose to be a self sacrificing, funny,positive figure. Thats why he is the best!

I love how in the Red Scolls of Magic Alec knows who Magnus is because he is the one who chooses to be kind, when others would not.

Yup, that's Magnus Bane for me. His character is amazing. And the actor did tremendous job in portraying it perfectly. I especially love his dialogues. They're so meaningful and Harry's dialogue delivery is awesome😍🥺♥️

When I saw the title, I screamed and started to weep silently almost instantly. Harry really brought this character to life spectacularly. I cannot thank you enough for this, this is perfect. *standing ovation* You chose the songs perfectly. There's something really poetic about picking the song that was playing when everyone was remembering Clary, to the moment when Magnus told Clary about both his and her mothers. And knowing the circumstances later… really nice touch.
I have also always liked the fact that despite the circumstances, Lydia and Magnus respected each other and Alec and saw each other as the great people they were. Lydia deserves so much respect as well, IMO. It's sad we never got to see more about the relationship between Jem and Magnus. (+ "Echo" broke my heart, especially in this context.) Seeing him getting his happy ending like this is so damn satisfying. So thank you, truly.

Alongside with Alec he’s the best shadowhunter character hands down. His sass,his flare and beauty. And with all that he’s been through just like Alec. Im super super glad they both got their happy ending together.

I have never related to and formed such a deep attachment to a character as I have Magnus Bane. On a deep level. How he has gone through so much yet puts others first. Who's greatest strength is his love and who's biggest fear is being alone. Who hides behind a mask of eccentrics to not let others see his pain. But despite the pain and heartbreak, still finds room to love. ❤

10:00 I hadn’t realized Magnus/Valentine’s scream was so heartbreaking till now. Like he really was reliving that painful past inside of him, how his mother left him when he was only a little boy. He must have felt so alone back then. He’s lived through centuries, became wise and wealthy and is a grown man, but at the end of the day, is screaming for his mom. It breaks my heart to see this, I guess it’s the closest we’ll be to learning about his pain 🥺😭❤️

I think that's why it means so much that Maryse eventually not only accepted him as Alec's boyfriend, but grew to love him for himself & even walked him up the aisle. She acts motherly towards him & he still needs that.
Yeah Maryse makes a really good replacement mom 😂 Her character development through out the season is just unexpected yet perfect and I’m so glad she finally recognises and accepts Alec’s sexuality, for who he is now but yet the same person. Just because he’s gay doesn’t mean everything is gonna change. He’s still a born leader, strong-willed and brave to fight for his friends and love. Like Magnus said, he would blow up the very ground he stands on, just to makes things right. I love Maryse, I wish she was my mom 😂❤️ she seems to be everyone’s mom in the show at this point

As a pansexual Asian still finding myself after settling into my sexualities, Magnus really helped with self discovery, understanding and confidence. With Alec's duty vs desires conflict and other issues that I also experience, Malec has really helped me in understand and carry myself with pride and chin up

I don’t think he’ll ever forget him, magnus said he’s *never* married someone. Meaning Alec was the first person he’s ever married in all the years he’s been alive.
In the books he marries alec and they adopt 2 kids. This is definitely not like any other relationship he ever had.

Magnus is one of my favorite fictional characters ever and he was certainly my favorite on shadowhunters, despite everything he’s been through and being part demon he’s still one of the most humane, caring, lovable individuals, he’s beautiful inside and out and more of an angel than the shadowhunters and I miss seeing Harry portray him

damn this is so beautiful, magnus is hands down one of the best things of the mortal instruments series and harry shum jr really brought him to life. its sad that they had to fit 3 books in one season because if they had spaced it out more we could have seen more of the development of this character from beginning to end
