Thank you for showing and sharing. The Paphiopedilums are so beautiful, love the long stems. They seem to be perfectly happy with growing conditions, so keep it up. A joy to watch.

I too live in a climate like yours quite warm most of the year and dry desert no humidity, and keep them indoors. I've found at least for this climate and even other orchids and plants that like some dampness at the roots but never to go full dry between watering nor wet roots the secret media to use is tree fern. It is like moss but better, doesn't get water logged but holds and wicks moisture around all of it so it dries as a whole pretty evenly and also stays damp evenly all around it as it doesn't go bone dry on the top and stay way more wet in middle. So it almost feels like a cheat for these type of plants haha. It's pretty much all I use it for now I wish I could use it for everything like just mixing some bark in which would be great for cattleya or other orchids but the stuff is ridiculously expensive. So I just use it for plants that help me not to kill them like paphs haha. Speaking of price even moss is like now double or triple the price before covid it's actually ridiculous. Oh it makes keeping miltoniopsis and zygos in this warm dry climate super super easy too. My zygos are almost constantly blooming all year and constantly pushing out new growth. As in 4-6 blooming cycles it's crazy. The flip side is the flowers don't last as long because of the warmth and dryness of the air. Hope this info is helps someone.

Found your video doing a search for paph care and then saw your Nepenthes truncata in the background. It's all I could look at. My goodness please do a video just on that. I grow lots of plants too and nepenthes are my absolute faves!! Greetings from Florida.

Hello, you mentioned you let them sit in water for a minute.
How long exactly do you let them soak?

That angel hair x mount toro is still too small to bloom. I have one of the parents, the Mount Toro, it needs to be big to bloom. I think your multi is too wet.

I have been figuring this out with that orchid. His bottom leaves will wilt if I let them stay wet or pack moss on top

@@oopsieorchidsinc.9860 Originally, I started growing cattleyas and very successful. Therefore, I think I have a tendency to be on the dry side. That is why, I cannot grow Maudea type well. But about 17 years ago, I started growing multiflower paphs with the style of growing cattleyas (dry side). I have lost even one plant. It seems multiflower paphs are able to endure driness more.
