Appreciate your presentation, informative, and helpful.
Love these kind of videos, good info to have!
this puts your “game changer” video in perspective for me. brand loyalty is great but the ability to see what’s great about others in the game is awesome. thanks
That's why we do these types of videos. Love it.
I like the walk through videos, I'm not currently in the market for another kayak but it's interesting how other people outfit their boats.
Love these reviews... keepem comin
Thanks and will do
NICE CHAD! Great Review! Hats off to ya for looking at different brands. I LOVE my 136
Thanks David. Glad you love it
Agreed. I need to include stuff like that in my content. I just love how he included this.
Great video. Very informative.
Thanks Tim
The 136 is great , and I own one , worth the wait
I had my AP 120 out the last 4 days and it is an amazing kayak. The open deck, comfortable seat, and large tank well are great; but the Minnkota i-pilot is definitely the highlight of this vessel. Spotlock is awesome! The autopilot and cruise control features save so much time re-rigging enroute to your next spot. If you can get your hands on one, get it!
you still liking the 120 ap? thinking of getting on myself
I just order this Yak….great information on set up
Hope you like it and glad the video could help.
Like the content and would like to see more kayak reviews.
Thanks Michael. They are coming
I have the wilderness systems recon 120 and bought petal drive separate. Would love to see your review of one!
Good review. I like a lot about this kayak. I wish it had more front end in-hull storage. Seems like all the storage is on the top of the deck in one sort or other. I take a lot of soft plastic speed bags with me and having in-hill storage would use that space efficiently. Lots of "scRupper" holes are good-including one that looks suspiciously like a "drain plug". (LOL!)
Waiting for mine!!!
I like the account name!! 👊🏻
I would like to see some budget kayaks. I have a Lifetime Teton Pro 116 and would be curious on how you would outfit it or any budget kayaks.
great review
Thanks M&M
More reviews please!❤
Chad if u get a chance u should review the perception outlaw fishing kayak I think for a fishing kayak under 1000 it's a great fishing kayak
I'd love to see what you do with that RS117 from a while back. I feel like that model appeals to a much wider audience and want to see how you'd tailor it to fishing
Done!! It’s one of my favorite “grab and go” boats
wife says she would have liked to see you on the water in the kayak . and then your thoughts on it while using it . thanks for sharing your videos with the wife and i . we really enjoy them ..
That’s coming when it’s a boat that I can take for a few days. I’m planning to do three part series on kayaks when I can keep them or a while or buy them for the review and then either resell them or do a giveaway.
@@ChadHooverFishing looking forward to it
I have a NuCanoe & an Old Town, both are great. I think the plastic hull material is much better, more durable, on the Old Town.
The AP tech is really cool but, with only a 45 lbs. thrust motor, speed is more important in a Tournament setting.
I like the way your 's is setup Chad and would rig mine along those lines. :)
Yes good show
Nice job.
Love your kayak review videos! Keep em coming! 👍
What kayak next??? Lifetime Teton Angler 🤣
That’s mine. I know there’s no shot at that though 😂
I’m bassin’ on a budget in my vids. 💰💪🤨
I actually do plan on doing one on the Lifetime Teton Angler down the road.
I bought one from Tractor Supply Co for that very reason.
@@ChadHooverFishing No way! That’s awesome 👏
I'm 72 and still can effectively "peddle" my OT Sportsman 120 PDL. When I can no longer spend a day powering my PDL, I'll probably switch to the AutoPilot. I like Old Town canoes and kayaks!
Cool. Thanks Rob. By the way, you can actually pedal your kayak, unless you are selling it, then you would be peddling it. 😜
Also the bixpy shearwater has an unbelievable 9lb lithium battery that is waterproof and will float if u were to ever overturn the kayak, let’s be honest even the old towne can be turned over on the water! And the accessories are unreal! And it’s fully equipped!
Some tournament don't allow trolling motor. Is that easy to paddle? Do the hobie pa14 360 next.
I am curious on the Blue Sky Boatworks 360 angler
I'm late to the part but I would like to hear your opinion on the PA14 360.
Chad you may find them at Kittery Trading Post in Kittery Maine. They do not ship large items.
The only way that kayak could be any better is if it was in my garage!!!!! Great stuff Chad!
Ha! That’s funny
I own this boat as well. One question/problem I have is that my rod holders and cup holders fill up with water and there are no drains. How does Mr Winkleman deal with this? Anybody have any mods to fix it??
More reviews please.
Thanks Randy and will do
You are the Pilot Ryan of fishing.
Thank you for the review Chad. I have the OT Predator PDL 132. I love it, but at the same time I am ready to upgrade to the Auto Pilot. It has been windy the last several weekends here and that has kept me off the water in mine. If I had Spot Lock I would've definitely went out! That is reason enough to me. Savin' my pennies!
It really is a game changer. I got so tired of battling wind, especially with my falling-apart-body that when I had the opportunity to buy one I jumped on it. Wish I had a year ago!
Beautiful setup, but with those horizontal rods there's no way you can troll King Salmon in lake Michigan. I'll tell you that.
How about putting an extra seat in there for my 11yr old son or taking my 6yr old when in the harbor or alittle offshore in Florida?
Where did you get that battery bag in the front compartment? I’d like to get one
Please do any of the Nucanoe models, walk threw
I’ve actually done all of their boats at one time or another, check out some of my older videos
Great review 👍. The thing is a lot of people don't, or can't trailer a kayak. Guess I'm out of my league as far as money is concerned. But I realize your target audience.
My target audience is everyone that is interested in kayak fishing. You can easily load this kayak into the bed of your truck, roof top it on an SUV or even a car and use a cart to get it to the water. I will have plenty of videos of kayaks at all price points, styles and configurations.
I hope you can test the kayak (any kayak) with a big boat running and generate big wave, test it with the wave hinting the side, bow and stern of the boat for stability test. Don't test the stability test with a lake with no wind and wave.
That’s not a stability test, that’s a conditions handling test and very difficult to “coordinate” to have a boat go by at a certain time and/or just go somewhere to shoot a video and hope a big boat comes by to test in in those conditions. Hope that makes sense. I can probably pull that off in the summer on a lake nearby when the wakeboard boats are out.
Where can I find that JuiceBox?
Can we do a review on that new secret kayak that Bonafide is working on 🤭😳🤫 lol keep crushing it chad
I bought a jet ski trailer it works fantastic first trailer I bought for a kayak this kayak is a bass boat use saltwater or freshwater
I love mine! It's heavy though. Alot heavier than the guy in the video says. I think it's like at least 150 empty.
Yeap, they ain’t light Glenn
Agreed- pretty much have to use a boat ramp & back the trailer in the water. I'm not carting or dragging this beast down to a shore.
@@kylelundy7870 the first time I took mine out I walked it down the ramp went fishing, just about gave myself a heart attack dragging it back up the ramp!!!🤣
I started reading the comments just to see if anyone else jumped on his comment of it being light!!! I made it about a month before I broke down and got a trailer! Boat ramps were kicking my butt!!! LOL Love mine too but it ain't light!
Sup Chad you know I love my Hobie PA14 but you make me want to switch lol.
Hey Chad! Remember that contest you ran and those glasses I won we discussed? And I emailed and we chatted on the phone? My bro in law and I are fishing this weekend again. He has his! ... I have - Nothing! What gives?
Have you still not received your glasses? If not, give me a call or email again. This is one of the major reasons that I switched brands. I was told several times that you were taken care of and then when I didn’t hear anything I assumed no news was good news. Please hit me back on my cell or email me at kayakbassfishing@gmail.com
I just bought one, picking it up Wednesday, I think he has the weight wrong, my spec sheet says 156# W/ motor
Chad, Would you be willing/able to get a hold of a Twin Troller and test it out? I know it isn't a kayak but I am intrigued by this thing. I know others have given their opinions online, but I would like your unbiased review. Thanks for considering!
Yeap, I can do that. Let me work on that for July (I’m on the road all of June)
I think they are way over priced especially almost 8000 with the gas motor and trailer combo
What’s the range on that remote? Like could I launch the yak and drive it around the end of the dock while I stand on shore?
I think it’s 100 ft and yes you can do that. I’ve seen people do it.
What kind of trailer does he have
Time for the Native Slayer Max
You should check out the NuCanoe Unlimited.
I have one on order
@@ChadHooverFishing I can’t wait to see this review! I love mine and the versatility it offers in rigging!
If you hit a stump, how does it impact the deploy cord? Need a spare in yak?
No, it doesn’t. It just pops up the motor and the cord is fine
Do you have to pair your motor to the remote every trip?
No, so far I only had to pair it the first time on the initial setup
I read Tournament Rules and they say No Motorized Kayaks Allowed. Is that True in All Tournaments or are they gonna change the Rules?
Not sure what rules you read that in, but you didn’t read that in our rules for KBF
Which kayak do you prefer hobie pro angler or old Town kayak autopilot 136
They are two different platforms and both have their strengths and weaknesses. If push came to shove I would probably go with the Old Town personally, but I’m really interested in the inflatables that Hobie is making now.
Im not sure but thought the powered Kayaks were not allowed in KBF tournaments?
Not sure where you would have gotten a reason to think that, I’ve allowed motorized kayaks from the beginning.
How would you outfit this boat?
I’m not 100% sure, I would need to spend more time in it to determine that. I’m still planning to do that.
My kayak was $299. at Costco lol.
Only thing I do like you to do is give the prices of the yaks as a base model, as shown type thing..
I wish I could win this kayak
Total weight of that rig ?
158 lbs
3 Waters Big Fish
Thanks Mark. I have one of those and getting to the videos as soon as possible
I know your buddy said 100Ah Li battery...but, assuming he's Superman, and I'm a mere mortal, how low of an Ah are you (or anyone else with knowledge) willing to go for a weekend warrior on a budget? Say...6 to 8 hours of putting from spot to spot with anchoring at each spot...and shore lunch...and a poo break, lol.
Also, am I thinking properly?...Lead Acid 100Ah should not be taken less than 50%...that's only 50 usable Ah's in the Li world, right?
I would say that the 60 AH range would be your bare minimum for that long of a fishing trip and using it to anchor.
I wish I could win this old Town autopilot kayak
You can, enter the CATCH22 Challenge
@@ChadHooverFishing okay and how do I do that
How do I enter the challenge so I can win a kayak
That's why there is no water in the hull
Why is that?
Ya need to try the vibe shearwater 125 with bixpy jet motors, review, I believe it’s gonna give the old town a run for its $, and has many more if not just as many features, actually I think more with its stunning summit perch platform, im telling ya it’s a bada$; sharp line of fishing kayaks! It may just blow old towne off the map in my opinion! It’s just my opinion, but that bixpy oh man, u can pop up outta the water, and never have to get up out of the seat while on the water
No spot lock on the Bixpy is a pretty big let down
With that much propulsion get a gheeno.
Okay, is that how you live your life? Deciding what others should do for their enjoyment and with their time, money and energy? If so, it’s going to be a frustrating existence for you.
I thought you couldn’t fish tournaments with motors in kayaks. Wtf?
You thought wrong. I would gladly answer your questions if you were genuinely interested in learning more or weren’t trying to be divisive. Change your tone and I would be glad to help you. If you just want to post negative crap just for the sake of doing it, thanks for the comment, but you can take that elsewhere.
Best "Motorized" kayak. Aside from that, it's not comparable to hobie pro angler which is not motorized. Apples to oranges comparison. Adding motor like bixpy to pro angler is way lighter, faster option.
I hear what you are saying but the Hobie PA is not “way lighter” or “faster”. I’m 100% open to counter points, but please try not to make statements that are unfounded and misleading. This was a “review” of this boat and not a comparison. The Hobie Pro Angler rigged with a Bixby would still be 12 to 15 pounds heavier and would not be faster. The motor itself is lighter, but not the overall watercraft rigged with the motor. How do I know? I’ve done it and we actually weighed the boats on industrial scales, not basing it off of the “manufacturers specifications”.
I’m doing a full review of the Hobie Pro Angler this fall and I will discuss that attributes of that boat in that series.
Owned a AP 120, JUST GET A JON BOAT! Notice how packed the kayak is with crap, you are going to need a trailer. Its a gimmick, if you cant carry it, it loses its purpose.
Thanks for sharing your opinion. It’s not a gimmick, but thanks for sharing.
@@ChadHooverFishing What is better about this kayak vs a small boat with a spot lock motor? Please tell me....
It’s totally overdone.
Thanks for sharing your opinion
All I hear is the music. It’s hard for me to listen to what he has with the looped music!!🤔🫤
Thanks for the feedback
