I smoked too much weed and watched this video. It’s literally brining tears to my eyes. Thank you
"natural light as a building material" beautiful
Barragan... the architect of light... can't believe he was not included in this video!!
Natural light is extremly abundant in the shadows of those 20 story dystopian apartment buildings
I love Japanese minimalism and it is so beautiful how it has made its way into architecture. Combining aesthetics, minimalism, simplicity and classic but with style in architecture is a gorgeous thing.
I got an opportunity to study at the Bauhaus 2 years ago. It was the most eye opening experience of my life learning about some of the incredible masters and now I see it everywhere. Beautiful video!
i am learning english can someone help me to practice?
I love how your voice perfectly blends with the background music making the video very soothing to watch and listen
i am learning english can someone help me to practice?
I really feel it, even the narrator voice seam Minimalist
The script and the narrative was just next level...thanks for this experience.
The irony is when these modern home cost more than traditional design.
This is a huge misconception....Not true
Using concrete as a building material is to make sure it is all leveled and it is very time consuming and expensive, rather building it with a
Wooden studs which takes less time and labor.
Actually the more details you add the more expensive it is, specially in “traditional” architecture/design.
Less is more.
PedroF I hope you are right. I guess you can create something cheap if you really go for a rectangle or box (concrete and glass) But in some countries if you want glass, you’ll need to spend money on Concrete fences which can cost more than your house. Unless you dont mind putting iron grills.
i love this. what a way go describe minimalism than a minimalist style of video presentation. so clean and refined. so poetic and dreamy.
You talk slow , you talk less , you talk my english , you sounded so perfect to me . Thank you for bringing this to me .👍🙏
This is a thorough yet understandable explanation of the evolution of minimalism. Good job!
I never respond to any videos. This is my first. I love this....the info, the feel, the movement, the silence. Well done & thank you!
Joana, your obvious passion towards, and knowledge of, your interests is astounding.
You have a gift for brilliant lecture. This is fantastic.
Thanks for putting this together and spending time to do a precise and, well, minimal edit...
I didn't know I'm a mimalistic person until I saw this beautiful video. Thank you very much! ❤️
I love that accent so much. Why? It's genuine.
Our society should endorse genuine content creators and youtube users.
Minimalism is architecture's newfound soul. Great video.
I can watch this video all the time. So well done. A touch to the art.
This was beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I embrace minimalism in my surroundings. One day my living space will embody these ideals as well!
Wow, I loved this! Thanks and have a great week! 🙂👍🏼👍🏼
Holymoly, I don’t know I felt like crying at the end of the video. This was beautiful
So nice to see, love it ☺️ and your video is clearly showing what is minimalism - spacious, but just a chair.
It means, anything other than the chair, it is too much.
I agree. That is what I am achieving now. I make videos about House Design but I always design it simply to bring more values.
i really enjoyed this. keep it coming please!
Thoughts become calm. Live is simpler. Nature all around becomes meaningful. That is minimalism.
well researched and well made 'minimal' video. Love you for this.
Thank you. I learned this when I was in college. It was a time to look back as a designer.
I loved this, I hope there are more like it
Hi Joana! I am glad your video showed up on my feed. it was very serene and true to the nature of the subject. You should make more of these amazing videos. :)
A beleza da simplicidade e autenticidade do mínimo 🤍
it is natural and open. love it!
Thank you Joana. This film was beautifully and deeply philosophical in presentation. Obrigado. More of this content, please.
Please keep on doing, so different and interesting
I notice so much more minimalism occurring in the properties I shoot video tours for these days. I'm happy to see the idea of rejecting excessive consumerism becoming more popular within mainstream architecture!
I loved the way of explanation, i request you to share more videos on these types of ISM's and some philosophies related to Architecture.
Beautifully done video. Really captured every moment
Beautifully said and done.
Hi :) i love how you remind the origin of this approach :) I studied history of art and history of architecture younger and when doing an internship at Le Corbusier foundation, i felt in love with this consideration of architecture, made for living :) the modulor, the furniture included in the building, to avoid to add to the space, to allow the movement of the habitant not to be blocked by things.. as Bauhaus and so many others. I love traditional japanese architecture too. I am from France and back in France for the moment, i kept that feeling to live the space in that approach. i rent a tiny flat but i feel it huge, as i do not have a lot of furnitures, and all is flexible, depending on my feelings. and the exterior light, trees dancing with the wind are like coming in.. as the japanese traditional houses, a friend that lived there expressed me that feeling that the exterior is like coming in and in link with, .. and all inside is flexible, depending on the need, season, and even living in an old house, tiny flat inside it in france, we can adapt it :) and feel that lightness.. I did not follow to work in architecture, but in social work, international collaborations etc, education even :) but i still feel in love for reminding how the space impacts our well being :) for sure ;) thank you for this video (sorry to share so much.. a bit enthusiastic to find a channel that i feel resonate to my actual path, with changing country.. and a sensitive approach of architecture) in my studies in history of art, i choose to focus on contemporary architecture for that, i felt it was calling for this concrete consideration of daily life in being in the daily environnement of each one :) (with no judgement with the other fields of art, all is in connection, just depends on each one sensibility, we might feel more called by such or such field :) thank you for your content,
Even your voice is Minimalistic in nature, it could put anyone to sleep. Well done.
I hope you will have so many video same this. Perfect.
This is so beautiful ❤️
Well crafted little video here and skillfully narrated. This one goes in my collection...because I deem this video essential material

I"m a Zen Minimalist at heart, clear spaces with no interruption, strictly functioning furniture, clean living. but I live with a Victorian Collector of Art and Finery. at least he settled on MCM aesthetic with Japanese decor items. simple and elegant, with little to dust. TYJ
Beautiful Video. Thank You.
I think you have the best interpretation of true minimalism great video
I love the video, thank you for that.
Lovely video. Perfect In every way
Now I understand what is minimalism means. Thanks for sharing.
Nice info. Thanks for sharing
Excellently Explained !
wonderful video! soothing to watch :)
beautiful reflexion!!
Beautiful video, thank you!
I do agree..👍 Less is always more no matter on building or human physical expression & actions...
The toilet in a Minimalist building is just a hole in the floor. For toilet paper, it’s a sign of a hand.
For a Brutalist building, there is at least a toilet seat, but it’s always kept cold. For toilet paper, it’s a box of pine cones.
In an Art Deco building, the toilet has a hole that doesn’t go anywhere. As for toilet paper, it’s a string.
Wow beautiful...clean and simple... Joana Almeida 👍🏼👌🏼✨ Thank you xo
I would really like to take a tour of the Farnsworth House in Plano, Illinois one day. Would also like to build something similar where I live. Have always loved this design and some others as well.

[ Vietnamese ]
I find so much comfort in brutalist minimalist spaces, juxtaposed to their stereotypical use as ‘the authoritarian architecture style’, there’s just something about that raw concrete with a single chair in the sun and nothing else. It feels like you are in a void, a different plane than our own. It really makes you appreciate the space and realize how gigantic this world actually is. Very good video!
Excelente vídeo.
Parabéns e muito obrigado !
Paz ☺👊
Could you do the another architectural styles? You do it so great! Keep it up)
Love it
I thought I was in a dream." It is an architecture that brings us silence." Beautifully composed. Well done.
