    I love Japanese minimalism and it is so beautiful how it has made its way into architecture. Combining aesthetics, minimalism, simplicity and classic but with style in architecture is a gorgeous thing.

      Using concrete as a building material is to make sure it is all leveled and it is very time consuming and expensive, rather building it with a
      Wooden studs which takes less time and labor.

    • @cultxxdisorder1526
      @cultxxdisorder1526 3 роки тому +5

      Actually the more details you add the more expensive it is, specially in “traditional” architecture/design.

      PedroF I hope you are right. I guess you can create something cheap if you really go for a rectangle or box (concrete and glass) But in some countries if you want glass, you’ll need to spend money on Concrete fences which can cost more than your house. Unless you dont mind putting iron grills.

    Hi :) i love how you remind the origin of this approach :) I studied history of art and history of architecture younger and when doing an internship at Le Corbusier foundation, i felt in love with this consideration of architecture, made for living :) the modulor, the furniture included in the building, to avoid to add to the space, to allow the movement of the habitant not to be blocked by things.. as Bauhaus and so many others. I love traditional japanese architecture too. I am from France and back in France for the moment, i kept that feeling to live the space in that approach. i rent a tiny flat but i feel it huge, as i do not have a lot of furnitures, and all is flexible, depending on my feelings. and the exterior light, trees dancing with the wind are like coming in.. as the japanese traditional houses, a friend that lived there expressed me that feeling that the exterior is like coming in and in link with, .. and all inside is flexible, depending on the need, season, and even living in an old house, tiny flat inside it in france, we can adapt it :) and feel that lightness.. I did not follow to work in architecture, but in social work, international collaborations etc, education even :) but i still feel in love for reminding how the space impacts our well being :) for sure ;) thank you for this video (sorry to share so much.. a bit enthusiastic to find a channel that i feel resonate to my actual path, with changing country.. and a sensitive approach of architecture) in my studies in history of art, i choose to focus on contemporary architecture for that, i felt it was calling for this concrete consideration of daily life in being in the daily environnement of each one :) (with no judgement with the other fields of art, all is in connection, just depends on each one sensibility, we might feel more called by such or such field :) thank you for your content,

    The toilet in a Minimalist building is just a hole in the floor. For toilet paper, it’s a sign of a hand.
    For a Brutalist building, there is at least a toilet seat, but it’s always kept cold. For toilet paper, it’s a box of pine cones.
    In an Art Deco building, the toilet has a hole that doesn’t go anywhere. As for toilet paper, it’s a string.

    I find so much comfort in brutalist minimalist spaces, juxtaposed to their stereotypical use as ‘the authoritarian architecture style’, there’s just something about that raw concrete with a single chair in the sun and nothing else. It feels like you are in a void, a different plane than our own. It really makes you appreciate the space and realize how gigantic this world actually is. Very good video!
