- In this video I mod my Idobao Id80 Crystal, I swap it out with a custom POM plate made by Smkeyboards! But does it change the sound at all? Let me know what you think of videos like this, its a bit different than normal.

This might help: For a softer typing experience, remove the top gaskets. Just leave the bottom gaskets on so that the plate has enough play. 👍🏼

I actually really like the idea of using different switches for specific keys. I probably wouldn't have switched out the wasd but I've also never tried it and having lighter switches on those for gaming also kinda sounds like it would be really comfy. All the keys that aren't letters make perfect sense to change out

Just last week I finally built my ID 87 Crystal with Durock Shrimps, and it’s amazing.

the wowstick kit comes with a few extended bits to fit in that one place where the wowstick didnt make you say wow. they are very useful, especially for keyboards.

Only if there was on-top aRGB. I had that weird imagination of the top comment : ID80 Crystal , Aqua Kings and G.Skill Crystals. It'd look amazing if you're into acrylic stuff.

Honest recommendation for the next iteration of the wood plate: have it laser cut. The edges will be a lot less... splintery that way. But who has LASERS? Most likely, your local sign shop. They can use the same file you have for the POM one.
Hipyo can you do a series where you slowly upgrade a keyboard?

so a little late to this. but i just got a idabao id80 crystal. they definitely made some changes to the board. they ended up going with rubber gaskets which look nice but with the brass plate sadly does not get much flex. but i pared mine with Durock Teal linears, GMK Lasers, Dorock clear V2. this is my first mid tear build and i have to say going from the Keychron Q1 with Tecsee ice candy switches and Akko Neons its a big difference and i love it.
this is something that i will never be able to pay for, nor physically do. nice.

It definitely sounds better no doubt about that but for me to judge the typing experience I would have to be there, and if it’s your daily driver I’m guessing it good 👍

I got the bestype and I gotta say, I love it. It is HEFTY, and I love the rigidity, since I'm a tactile gal. Also I'm using silent switches cause I don't live alone, sound isn't much of a concern... I had 62g Zilents though and I'm planning on switching to a heavier spring. But the bestype is my endgame board ...

What keycaps do you use in the video? They're beautiful.
I like the pom plate sound better, but the brass plate definitely looks better, and adds a really nice accent. So I think while daily using this, keep them pom plate, and if its ever just a display piece then put the brass plate back in

hi hipyo tech i just built a anne pro 2 with feker holy pandas and krytok 205g0 and the keys arent registering, the lights are going on and i can change them but the keys wont register. this is my first time lubeing and soltering, what should i do i need any ideas, tysm and keep up the good content
I actually really want either an idobao80 crystal, or godspeed75 velocity, or the glitchxfrost in clear, but I feel like the godspeed and frost are going to be done by the time I can afford either, so the id80 it is??? It's that or the k80 xo PC from monstargear. These vids on your id80 are great for me as someone looking for something very similar :O

Can you review the Akko cs switches they are pretty cheap 20 dollars for 90 pcs and sound pretty clean. I don’t wich switch I should get the gateron yellows or Akko cs matcha greens

Honestly, sounds even clackier. Think I prefer the brass...
A lot of gasket mounts depends on how much flex you can actually get. For instance the Freebird TKL, with the gummy mount, flexes a *lot* with a POM plate.

the delete key should have a super heavy feel so it feels like you are destroying something when you hit it

Gotta be honest, I know brass has fallen out of favour meteorically, but I think I prefer it here. Just a bit quieter and subtler.

What is the method you usually use to clean out small parts of stabs? like for example, the holes of the stab stems. Im trying to clean these stabs i have of the lube thats already on them but i cant really get whats inside the small holes.
Most people put them in a bowl with a good soap to cut the lube and then just agitate them until they're clean. If you still have extra lube in there, try a pipe cleaner or similar tool to really get in there.
@@hunterdirkse4645 I rinsed it in soapy water already for like 10 min and there was still a lot of residue. I heard of rinsing then in isopropyl alcohol since it can break down greases do you think that’s a good method?

Man i have a terrible $40 keyboard mouse combo it is a red dragon not sure what the name was but man i would love to make a keyboard that has alpaca switches (or any super silent ones) and blank key caps other stuff as long as its compatible I’m fine with it
So i expect it would be a little over 100-200 not sure
But that would be my perfect keyboard.
