I didn't buy any fragrance oils for my first time making them. I had essential oils i already had and I tried mixing scents and experimenting. Thats when I learned that I have to pay attention to temperature of my wax for adding fragrances, pouring and adding embellishments such as dried flowers or dried fruits. I just started this week. Also I experimented with labeling the products, I made only 10 candles to pass to family for critique. Their feedback will help me improve the product before I launch it.

I already got my first order from candle shack, 30cl jars, 3 FO, utensils from amazon, rcx wax, a few recommended wicks from candle shack, but i love the idea of wooden wick. I can wait to start candeling if thats a word. I have tried 3 candle making kits and will have them up on my channel also. I want to take my time with this and yes I have binge watch you for over a week and I am hitting the sub button.

I went to my 1st market with one scent - lavender. And I sold one candle 😄 2nd time round I went with 10 different scents and sold 10 candles. Having said that, there were only 4 scents that sold out. So 3rd time round I will take only the scents that sold out! In a way, it worked out for me to have more scents as it did my market validation :)

I just started making candles a few days ago and I really want it to be part of a crafts business ( knits, candles, simple decor and trinkets), but it’s so overwhelming to think about everything that needs to happen just to start selling. It’s hard though with so many fragrances I love!! Loving the tips.. I feel its such an untapped market I want to really promote my business also to those that want a luxury feel and scent but not the high profile cost. My main brand identifier is definatley eco friendly & recyclable... I want to give the luxury masculine feel but being secure in that all of my sources are sustainable and recyclable..feeling proper excited and protective 😂

Thank you for replying so quickly. I am Having adhesion issues. All seems to look like it is going well and then the next day the candle has come away from the jar. Apparently this is normal but I have seen people make candles with soy wax and this hasn’t happened. So it is frustrating but a part of the process I suppose.
No worries! Have you tried pre-heating your jar? This helped me with adhesion issues. I use a paraffin blend though. Also perhaps try adjusting your temperatures but try one variable at a time so you know what is/is not working. Good luck!
This sounds fab but it is the CLP labelling part I cannot get my head around. I see Candle Shack have labels ready to print, is that the type of thing you mean please, which would keep me alongside the responsibilities and the law, along with insurance? Also how do I turn those into sticky labels for my jars?
Yup if you’re going with candle shack they give you a template. You would need to fill in your details like address plus the name of the candle if you change it from the supplier name. In terms of printing out the sticker I use a platform called canva (you could use word) to effectively recreate the sticker then I get it printed on sticky paper, alternatively you can get it printed professionally. Hope this helps! From my reading you should be good, however I’d highly recommend reaching out to your trading standards and insurer and not take my word for it because I don’t have the legal credentials to give advise. Hope you get it sorted quickly.xx

Congratulations on building up the finances! That's very exciting. It's true there are lots of people doing it, however I would not say it's saturated. If you are going to do the same thing as everyone else then it will be hard. If you really identify a good niche, you can make a lot of good money. So sorry for the late reply. I just saw this comment. I have used suppliers who are specific to candle making and buy oils and jars from Candle Shack which is based in the UK. I think if you are just starting out, doing this is more cost effective. If you were to go to each supplier individually (like one glass supplier) the quantities you need to buy are very high. I've made a haul which included quite a few suppliers. I hope that helps!

Hello! No not wrong at all, it's just from my experience 12 was so overwhelming. I think it's good to have a bit of variety to test what customers like, but what I did was also buy scents I knew I wouldn't sell. I bought it for fun haha so it was a waste.

I use my niche to help me make content on social media. Lots of people don't like just sales posts and can get turned off so I am very conscious about creating content that compliments my branding. I also had another video about growing on social media. Think of what value are you giving people also which social media accounts do you like and why. Let me know if you have any other questions. Hello! I'd recommend candle shack! They are brilliant I use their wax CS2. For essential oils I've tried Supplies for Candles which were good. I actually have a video of how to make essential oil candles coming out on Sunday :)

Does the first candle kit you linked deliver to Austria ?
I believe they ship to the EU but unfortunately because of brexit there will be additional fees.

Yes! Don’t do what I did. I think I bought at least 60 fragrance oils

Hello! I'd recommend candle shack! They are brilliant I use their wax CS2. For essential oils I've tried Supplies for Candles which were good. I actually have a video of how to make essential oil candles coming out on Sunday :)
I've got about 30 different fragrances
I started with 10 but didn't love them so I switched brands and now I have 7.
Ooh tbh I did the same thing, I started with a supplier, their oils were nice but I loved another supplier way more so ended up switching over. 7 is a good amount!

When I listen back I find it too slow 😳 You can adjust the speed of the video in the settings to play it at half the speed.
