Amy and Doug, I absolutely love watching you. My wife and I are the same age as you and Doug. Hearing you talk about growing up in the 70’s and 80’s brings back such great memories. My wife and I met cruising in the town I lived in, been married 30 years. I’m not a farmer, but there are so many similarities between what you all do and what my wife and I do. Keep the videos coming, I greatly enjoy them! 😃

36 years ago my mom and sister got rear ended in the same situation. That was one time being a farmer saved lives, you see my wife planned on going along but I was to busy working on the combine to baby sit our oldest son so she stayed home. She was 6 months pregnant with our youngest son. More than likely neither would have survived in the back seat. God definitely was watching out for us that day.

Thanks for another great video Amy and Dougo.
It was enjoyable to watch and interesting.
Hunting for half inch plywood made up for a video shop. Who would have thought!!!!!!
You need that for Chet’s remodel project. He put a short video on facebook showing his problem. Needs new plywood under the stool area. So that is way Amy and Dougo are on the hunt for plywood to help Chet finish his remodel project. Oh my. Always something.
I put two and two together after I saw Chet’s short video and you hunting for half inch plywood.
Everybody working together to get the job done.
How interesting Amy that you worked in a lumber yard. That is good for knowing how to measure wood correctly. Right!!!!!
Thanks Amy for everything. You take care and be safe.

But they don't tell you about the ones that lose their live from seatbelts. I know 5 people personally that have died from seatbelts 1 of my friends/classmates was decapitated. I know at least 4 more that was in an accident seatbelts were jammed couldn't get out and died from either drowning or fire.

Seat belts are a yes for sure. I ran a large cemetery for ten year's, and i buried several people who were killed from not wearing a seatbelt. One of the worst service's i had to do was of a 21 year old woman who was in a wreck, and was thrown from the vehicle and killed, but had she had her seatbelt on like the other 3 people she would have lived. There were a lot of young people who were crying and throwing thing's of remembrance into the vault, and the air just felt so heavy with sorrow. My grandpa was friend's with her dad, because he collected really old clocks, and my grandpa met him having his cataracts fixed , as he was an eye dr. who fixed my mom's torn retina. When he came to buy a plot, he bought twelve, because he didn't want anyone buried next to her. I talked to his wife a lot, because she visited the grave quite often. I counseled so many people who would visit the cemetery, i guess that was what i liked about running the place. Yeah, sestbelts save lives, and you never know when an accident could happen. G-d bless, love the video's.

Thanks Amy, you have been a blessing to many people just by having that zeal for our Lord and Saviour. I had a lot of people ask me how i could work at a cemetery, some who thought i was crazy. I would tell them that it's a box going in a box, and that i could never work for a funeral home, because that would have been to much. I liked working outside was why i applied, and they needed a person who could do building repairs, grounds equipment repair, and the mowing and trimming. The strange thing was that i felt that i was meant to help people. I was the first female superintendent for the company that owned 28 separate cemeteries. I met a lot of older men who had lost their wives, and they would talk to me when they came to visit, and they always thanked me for listening. I ended up burying a couple of them, and it was sad, but happy, because it was as though they were just waiting to follow their spouse. Seems like to many people are in a rush, and don't take time to really listen to what people have to say. When you get older, and people start passing on, it kinda wakes you up, makes you think about where you want to spend eternity, and what have you done in life to bare more fruit for the Kingdom. G-d bless, and thanks for the video's.

I'll argue the seatbelt rule! Im quadriplegic bc of a car accident. In my case, the doctor and first responders blame the seatbelt for the cause of my injuries. It kept my body in place to allow the roof to crush my upper C3 and C5 in my neck. Had my body not been held in place, the results would have been way less damaging to my neck. The driver had no seatbelt on, and she was completely fine besides whiplash after rolling over 8 times in the car front over the rear and not sideways. Every situation is different, and it also depends on how safe your vehicle was designed. All vehicle manufacturers are skimpy with safety. Great video 📹 👍

That's so funny! Dad's standing by with the 16 ga.
My dad always had his Browning Sweet 16 leaning against the wall by the front door. Around 1977, or 78, my youngest sister and her boyfriend got into a spat with a bunch of boys at the arcade in the mall in town. That turned into a car chase out to my parents' house. The boys were stopped on the road, about 75 yards from the house, yelling for my sisters boyfriend to come out. My mom went out, shook her finger at them, and told them to skat. They started yelling and cursing at mom. Well, they broke one of dad's rules, disrespecting mom. He went outside with the 16 ga. and fired a couple rounds over their heads. You never saw so many fast leaving boys in your life. A couple of days later, dad got a call from the sheriff, one of dad's lodge brothers, asking him not to shoot at boys in the future.
Imagine how that would play out these days.
    Things were much simpler then.
Don't disrespect mom, or mess around with the man holding the 16 ga.

*I'm not trying to sound preachy here.*
But I was a Texas Firefighter/First Responder for a long time so here's a short PSA. Over the years I've arrived on accident scenes thinking there's no way anyone survived this accident only to have them alive because they worse their seatbelts.
I've also been on accident scenes where the damage was minor but a person lost their life because they were not wearing their seatbelt. Vehicles are build to crumple around the occupants to protect them from damage and the seatbelts keep you in your seat.
When a person doesn't wear their seatbelt they are tossed around the vehicle as it crumpling which causes life threatening injuries. Even a fender bender at 15 mph is capable od causing severe injuries and possible death. You do not what your face and head to contact the windshield at any speed. Especially a passenger without a seat restraint on. It's not pretty. Wearing seatbelts, lowering driving speed and not driving at night or during inclement weather are the saftest things you can do to better your chances to not be in a vehicle accident or seriously injured in a vehicle accident. Thank you for sharing your families story. Most people don't think about what can happen each and every time they get in a vehicle. No one goes out planning to get into an accident. They just happen so you always have to be prepared. *God Bless and Stay Safe out there everyone.*

Everyone has to have a junk pile Dougo.
Why Amy it really makes you look like the rest of us that have a shed that holds anything and everything in them.
Seatbelts have their good and bad reasons to use them … my Aunt would have been dead in 1973 if she would have had one on, the roof would have crushed her but she was thrown from the car.
But the laws for seatbelts aren’t about safety because if it was school busses would have seatbelts in them.

A Day in the Life of Amy; a nice way to start the day. Thanks, Mrs. Larson! By the way, that sheet of plywood would be a lot more than $10 these days.

The seat belt isn't always the answer. November of 2022 i was driving a tandem axle straight truck loaded with corn got hit by a train at a intersection where one way you can't see 100 ft down the track. I didn't have my seat belt on. I ended up with 5 stitches on my forehead and plenty of bruises. I don't remember none of it and was nocked out. My brother was behind me he come to the truck and woke me up and i walked away. I was told that if i would have had a seat belt on i would have died from internal injuries.

I was hoping you would walk through the living area of the shop. The last I remember the farm channel showing it, it was still getting some work done to it. Was just wondering if it was now finished and whether a kitchenette was added.
