Really liked the pocast/interview style of this video, am needing much longer content in these times. Even if it’s uncut, full of filler and things get off topic. It’s nicer than a “in your face rundown review” of a gun/brand. Imo with this you get to see the personality, dedication, creative thinking and passion behind what you normally see in scripted video. Keep up the good work, love to see more of these soon.

This format was excellent. Speaking for myself, hearing from the developer of the platform helped me to understand not just what makes it unique, but why they did it. I had thought the Mini Fix was a pretty standard precision rifle that someone chopped down to make fit in a backpack, needless to say I was wrong. Now the Mini Fix is pretty close to the top of the list of what i want to buy and add to my collection. Now to just convince the wife.
Watched the whole thing. Very interesting. As a Honey Badger owner Id love to see more in depth stuff on that.

That said, I really don't see their mounting system catching traction. 2oz is really not that much, and you are going to have a lot more effort put in to machine and assemble their mounting system over an m-lok. The whole reason companies are making negative space rail systems to begin with is because it is cheaper and faster. That's why you see m-lok handguards dominating the cheap 80% build markets over the quad rail or even the split handguard systems. No one ever complained about m-lok pull strength, and you can cut a lot more than 2oz by simply changing from the silly gov spec barrel profile to a regular contour or even SPR style. However, companies have kept the gov profile barrels because the difference in weight hasn't mattered.
Kevin is a true innovator when it comes to firearms. When I got a couple AAC suppressors I learned about his story and it's a pretty interesting story. A true American success story. People can learn a lot from this guy.
I wish Q could learn anything about production. Total failure.
Just bought a Fix, the gun is amazing to hold in hand, haven't shot it yet. My concern about my Fix is the longer term success of the company itself. I feel like I took a big risk putting this kind of money out on a company like this, mainly in terms of long term support and parts availability. Your video was great, awesome coverage of their process and approach to things, gets me excited to own this product. You can tell Kevin has alot of experience to share and and alot to say, and generally thats a good thing. There have been alot of interviews however, or podcast or videos where I am shocked he let certain thoughts escape his mind and out of his mouth. He needs to recognize there is a balance to running a successful company and the shadow you cast in the market place, just like there is a balance to designing a great firearm. Selfishly, I want these guys to be successful and around for the long term, for my own purposes, and because I love what they are doing and believe in it. I just think he needs to step back a little, exercise some self control at times and let the production folks get these in peoples hands. That will solidify them, because right now dealers and consumers have strong opinions on this company one way or the other and that worries me as someone relatively new to this company. All feedback is a gift Kevin B! You are a genius no one questions that, but keeping it afloat over the long term by recognizing the importance of reputation and support will be more important than ego and I don't mean that as an insult.
Three years later.. they've totally dropped the ball in production and distribution. Can't buy direct from Q, dealers have no stock and no wait list. A total failure to leverage the buzz and efficiency that would come with scaling to production. They'd have been better off just licensing their designs to FN or CZ, taking pre-orders, etc.
That's really fuckin' cool how everything was so thought out. Made it to the end of the video. The innovation is so intriguing... didn't think I'd ever really want a bolt action rifle until this video. Mini Fix is definitely on my list now
Talon, I definitely like the firearms interview style videos. Talking with the creator behind innovative products really helps me as a consumer understand the value behind higher prices items like Q products. I also like that next week you will release a standard Sunday Gunday review. I think the two videos compliment each other well. For your Sunday Gunday review I would like to see you try a true 100 yard accuracy test using the Mini Fix and subsonic ammo. Get a bench rest set up and try and use really good ammo. 300 BLK may be hard to find right now but it would be good to see.

I never understand why people hate Kevin. Regardless how you feel about the guy take a little time to listen to his vast knowledge and experience in this industry. There is always awesome back stories to the reasons he calls products, and people out. I honesty think most of the haters wish they thought of some of the things Q is doing. They are crushing the game.
Badass! Do more mini fix stuff! I'd love to see some accuracy testing, like legit big scope, benchrest, properly sandbagged accuracy testing supers and subs at 100yds. Thanks!

Keep doing this style! This is awesome, I honestly didn’t realize how precise Q was. I knew they obviously were way more precise than a Remington or S&W but damn I’d love to listen to the engineer who designed the folding stock.

They remind me of Thompson Contenders & Encores, but don't need special "tweaking" & come pre-precision engineered in a bolt gun..... how amazing to develop an SBR that has the potential to do so much!!! Can't wait to get one.

Just picked one up today well started the paperwork got the fix 8.6 sbr and a porq chop suppressor to say I’m excited is an understatement
This video was kind of the last push for me to get a mini-fix rifle about 1.5 years ago. It’s been a really fun rifle to shoot and is still one of my favorites. I also got a 223 barrel which is easy to swap in and out so it has some versatility too. I ran into a problem a little while back that necessitated me having to send in the whole rifle. After Q looked at it they determined that they would have to do a full factory replacement which they did with no problems whatsoever. So I learned that not only do they make outstanding firearms they have really great customer service too.
If they ever go out of business, which is looking likely given what appears to be non-existent production after 2-3 years, it'll be interesting to see if parts are even available.
I would LOVE this kind of interview for the Honey Badger and their relationship with Noveske and the Ghetto Blaster

I really like the stuff coming from Q.....Kevin has a great background and has been around the block so it is cool to hear him explain stuff in detail like that. I do agree that the fix is a big deal. Totally awesome design and engineering as well. I do not think calling it a "game changer" in the bolt gun category would be over stating it at all.....just plain great american innovation period.I can't wait to get my hands on one of their cans, hopefully soon. I have a Sauer 200 STR in Sweden. This rifle came on the market in the end of the 1980s. It has that barrel change system.

I wanted an SRS stealth recon scout since they first came out back in 2011. Bought one in 2020 super excited but it was so big even the covert model. Plus I didn't have a lot of long range places in Southern California. I found this gun out couple weeks ago and now I wanted more than the SRS that I actually sold it to pay for the deposit towards this gun. Hopefully by Christmas time I'll have a very good gift from Santa

Because everyone including me, and a couple friends of mine who have WAY more money and pull than me....have to wait for probably a year before we can even get one after being on a waiting list....just curious if there is some magic trick to not do the whole ‘wait till we can make yours’ thing....

Noice.. I enjoy knowing about all gun tech even if it's a little bit on expensive side a man who wants something enough always finds a way. The idea of packing this thing up a mountain & hunting with it just makes it even sweeter.
It's really nice to see something new and innovative. I probably won't ever own one but I can dream.

Great video man, I haven't been around for a while but I was one of the first 1000 subs on your main channel. I finally got my tax stamps back last Friday for my HB SD. Weird they got approved 6/9/2019 and they finally gave it to me. And it is so quiet. The best ammo is Noveske Sub, its black and coated. Stupid quiet. Just in the case you get the HB. I would let you borrow mine if you were closer. Anyways keep up good work!

I just want the 8.6 to be the ultimate large frame short barrel cartridge. I hope it's as accurate as anything else out there. I like what I'm hearing but Kevin seems to be the only guy out there saying that much twist actually makes a bullet more and not less accurate. Most sources say over-stabilization is bad due to spindrift and excessive loss of alignment between the trajectory and the angle of attack.
I have no doubt the increased spin inscreases expansion and wound cavity per velocity, but as they say, there's no free lunch, to impart that many RPMs that means more barrel friction, possibility of i increased back-pressure, more barrel wear, heat build up, more power is needed to attain a higher supersonic velocity compared with less resistance from a low twist barrel. Heck I've seen a back to back comparison of 300 blk with a 1:8 vs a 1:7 and there was a supersonic velocity average difference of 60 fps. Sure the 1:7 did better accuracy with heavier subs, but it got less velocity with supers.
It just seems there's going to be a cost no matter what. But hey, if the balance is right, maybe that cost is just fine.

Loved the whole video I own the fix, the mini fix, HoneyBadgerSD, erector 22 and a Thunder Chicken but I still love to watch people’s reactions to the guns and seeing their faces when they shoot them for the first time these guns are THE TITS!!!!!!! I’ve watched grown men giggling like girls when I’m at the range I let them shoot it if I see them gawking at it. They inevitably bring up call of duty and childhood. These guns are EPIC and I’m just thrilled that they make them. Everyone I repeat EVERYONE should own a HoneyBadgerSD before they die, save up and get one they are the best of the best. It’s the greatest shooting experience you can have with your clothes on.

I love the the Q mini fix but my only draw back is I shoot left hand and they don't offer a left hand model. I got the Uintah Precision left hand bolt upper in the 10.5" 300 blkout upper. It's the poor man's fix. I hate I'm an odd ball. But I do have the Honey Badger and I love it!!
