I did more tests regarding the voltage leak and i found it to be questionable at best.
If anyone interested, please watch the next video where i do some experiments with it.
Ok
My issue with jbc style stations from china that I've bought enough of them for my bench and as donations that I'm ready to just buy an official jbc station because of the money I've wasted.
Ive had the best luck with jc axiun but had to completely replace almost every component in the t3b model after I purchased it.
It's like rhe t12 clone stations were rock solid, i bought a ksger station with thousands of hours on it and it only ever had one bad tip. The station has followed a friend through a whole engineering program and still works perfect. I put countless hours on it beforehand.
I had a ts100 from sequire for my rc repair and kit bag for when fixing stuff when I'm out but gave it away because it overheated way too much and the tips cost as fortune.
Do those tweezers use normal 245 or 210 jbc style tips or their own. Im reading the ad on amazon as I have a bunch of gift cards but I also have 2 jbc axiun stations I can use for removing smd components.
That said, I'm not where near as deft as you when it comes to fixing gpus. In fact if the problem isn't obvious I'll just refer them to you being you're from Canada and the best I've seen at gpu repair. Plus you are not like that dickbag in California who repacks ali express stuff, charges a fortune and rips people off for thousands of dollars.
I used to see people from Canada ordering off his channel these giant orders and you know like me what our customs are like along with exchange and massive shipping fees from the US. A buddy from Utah sent me an old tektronix dmm from when he worked for nasa in the 90s and the meter alone cost 75 dollars from usps whereas I sent him a soldering station, tips, knipex pliers, flux, solder and a bunch of stuff for 28cad.
Plus I live in nova Scotia and we have 15 percent tax on top of brokerage or customs fees if I order anything from digikey for under 140cad.
Plus if a seller uses dhl they smack you with brokerage fees and hold your parcel for ransom even if you've already paid shipping. My parents owned a shipping company growing up and the brokerage fees were transparent to the client. I dont order from anyone who ships dhl anymore because they charge almost 20 beans on top of prepaid customs when ordering audio gear.
Fucking German fuckers. Ive never had a good experience with anything I've bought from Germany. I ordered a brymen bm869s from welectron once and they send me a defective 500 dollar meter yet wouldn't add .ca to their rma dhl page and demanded i pay dual shipping plus wouldn't honor a coupon. Same with knipex and any car I've ever bought from the godless country haha.
I had to use a dmm to find a short in an expensive dmm ffs.
Anyway, ramble over.
Keep up the great content. If you collect old gpus, I have have that God ugly nvidia 8800gt with the skull island Kong decals from back in 05 or 6 if you want it. Agp baby!
@northwestrepair I've faced quite a bit of issues with the Sequre soldering irons, specifically the SI012Pro model. This model is not much tested after the development. I have faced many issues with it. The major one is that if I use the T12 tip in a brand new iron, it blows up the fuse. It has 2 fuses and 2 clips that output the electricity to the tip. As T12 is long, it needs to be passed through both clips; as a result, one of the fuse will blow up. In the future, if you want to use high-quality TS/SI tips, it will not work, and the iron will be useless. Sequre makes good stuff, but some products are half-baked. Also, in some irons, the Type C and Barrel connectors will be damaged after using them for 2-3 months.
@prathmeshdk they're super expensive as well. They are 200 beans in canada. Expensive for what it is i mean. I had a ts100 i got on sale for 40 dollars years ago but ended up donating it without even opening it. Ever see people measure the ripple on their mini variable switch mode supplies. It's shameful. It was almost a volt ptp
I use these tweezers every day when repairing LED panels, they are not perfect but they have completely changed the game and the speed of repairs...I can't imagine myself without them anymore..
Literally just thought to myself that I needed some solder tweezers and wondered if Tony had reviewed a pair. The algorithm did not disappoint.
I think you can align them by adjusting the securing screws. Also, try turning the small tips so they touch sideways, it should work better. Nice video
like a 4jaw chuck
that does not work. the base is not parallel unless you squeeze the housing, which is exactly how i fixed it more or less.
You just need to thumb and bend it slightly the Metal shafts are not dead straight and they are perfect be aligned, not much force is required, they are good, espc on caps , and fuses, the inside screw is a pita tho, should of been rotated by 45 degree's
'try turning the small tips so they touch sideways'
Yeah that's how I use them. Closer to what they were out of the box.
My ts100 I use for racing drones has an accelerometer built into it. So it detects movement and auto heats when picked up and auto idles when put down. So good
Yeah but it's not tweezers
@@northwestrepair That is true. Would be cool if the tweezers had that
Hello, hello.
I believe they can improve more on this nice handle. First at all I will add 2 activation button on on a finger holders. The best options will be you to can program what they doing. For example, Wen pres the button to start warming tips or if press and hold to give you boost of 25C° And you can program both site button to do different functions. The button on were they are placed are not useful in practice. You know better we love to be easy to use. That's my suggestion, only thinks I don't like is- manufacturers never ask regular user like me and you what we like to change. Hope this company will read your feed back and improve their items. Have a good time watching your repair. I use JBC and they have OFF/standby function Wen I place it to stand. Happy New year in advance.
I have had them for about two month's
As a Diy improvisor repairman in like em.
Awesome video.
Happy Christmas and Happy New Year...
Thanks for all the video’s, I learn a lot from you and they are really really funny to watch 👍
Sponge ? I always used that as an ashtray. For that price point I don't think you can
get rid of the voltage leak, maybe an isolation transformer? Thanks for the video...
You should try to short the 2 soldering tips together and measure the current flowing from one to the other.
Another alternative. The Base. Make it so that they can be attached together. If you're using Multiple.
For my personal taste, this tweezers are usable to an extent. Adding leaded solder to tin the solder points makes them usable though. But my main question remains : On the market there are several hot tweezers. Why does no one A. Makes them sturdy, alligned and stable ? B. Why is the price scratching the edge of branded tweezers when you sum up the total including shipping to many countries ? The game is changing. Many Asian sellers become unaffordable to buy from. At the present time, sometimes there is even a better and cheaper offer to by in your country or the surrounding countries. I got a pair of these cheapos. They all got power, this not the problem. But over 90% of all tweezers have a crucial problem with allignment and usability. For people who own soldering stations with multiple outputs, there is a possibility to use your de-soldering gun in combination with the iron. Of course if the soldering tips fit in both handles. I use my Xytronic LF-8800 and have no real need for tweezers when de-soldering SOP-8 and similar sized chips. Other than that, if any space is given, a blade shaped tip will do the job alone. Just important to tin the points, and there you go.
honestly, a 40-minute honest review of a soldering iron is a triumph of style over substance.
Because of you, I have to postpone watching this movie until I get home.
lol thanks
@@northwestrepair Damn I just finished watching, I was about to go online to buy them, but the voltage on the tip ruins the chances of using them. Thanks for checking this, I wonder how much current leaks through these tips and if this problem occurs when you have a power supply with a barrel plug and "-" is grounded.🤔
I am disappointed, first problems with 230V breakdown in power supplies of cheap T12 soldering stations, then AiXun T3A and problems with the voltage on the tip and now the same with Sequre HT140.
Great inexpensive products with one flaw that prevents them from being used safely.😟
On a different note, have you seen the 5090 PCB yet?
Under the GPU and memory dense as hell.🤯
Another 2 generations and instead of BGA we will have a micro BGA there.
Thanks for the video it was almost worth watching 😉
I use the same tweezers and a Quick 853 underboard local heater at 200C. HT140, game changer, quality and cheap elements.
Maybe you could try if there is continuity from the barrel jack outer contact and the tips. If so you may connect a cable from the lab ground to the jack. Thank you for this review.
You need to read the instructions before using those tweezers. They are cool. I plan to get one.
Is the 6v leakage on tweezers still there if you run from your dc bench psu if not could be the brick is smpsu
I have been through most all tweezers only ones i found to be good in all aspects are JBC
Great video 👏
happy new year Tony
An interesting review, albeit a little bit long lasting. 😇One thing, which I have not understood. Does the hot tweezers come with TWO pairs of tips? Or did you buy the second one separately? Thanks
nice review.
I've seen a "beep ON" entry in some menu, that would suggest it should be able to make some kind of feedback sound (maybe when switching to "work" and "stop"). Maybe the actual beeper is absent or not properly seated ?
Evblog just did a piece on these. Mine are on the way. Can you direct me to the paddle tips? I cannot find those for some reason.
Maybe they have a motion sensor...and go to standby after a while without moving them...
Can you do more reviews of micoscopes? What are you using? optical vs digital? I have a simple AmScope optical I'm using now and thinking of upgrading to something that has zoom control and not fixed focal.
@northwestrepair, have you checked the tip grounding of the iron, whether the tip is grounded to the USB shield? Unfortunately most chargers are not functional grounded.
Charger is not grounded.
It is powered by a switching power supply, the voltage on the iron is similar as the phantom voltage.
6:40 i think it is supposed to be more "secure" than "square" 😅
Bellissima recensione. Potrei sapere a che temperatura e che flusso d'aria usi per aiutarti a dissaldare? Che tipo di stoffa usi per pulire le punte? Le punte sono intercambiabili? Certo un picco di 6V sotto carico non da sicurezza.
They're interchangeable with genuine JBC tweezer tips.
Did we get a fix on these?
Can you fix the alignment issue by adjusting the retaining screws?
no. I had to soften the plastic and push it down a little to eliminate the gap.
This is the second soldering iron holder I've recently seen that's unfit for purpose. The hot parts should be entirely enclosed by the holder. Were the tweezers hot and the stand accidentally pushed or shoved, something unpleasant might occur.
If you see giveaway in the end of the video - that tool is bad. If you don’t - safe to buy)))
Lol You are right!
take a shot every time he says "SEQURE™"
the different tips are $25 per pair, pretty expensive. Tweezers are $125
Yeah Sequre tips are about 1/2 the price of genuine JBC here in Australia. Haven't used the Sequre tips long enough to know how good they are. Apparently out of the Chinese brands Aixun is the best, but don't have personal experience to back that up.
I think you can make a jig for alignment and that will be awesome.Very nice tool but still it's looking like a toy and won't last very long because it's using type c it would be better if it's built in cord but it is what it is at least you can use the ordinary jack if type c breaks . Very nice looking I hope they will serve you good
Good call!
@northwestrepair technician without a tool is like bedouin without a camel in the desert so I hope you found yours
😮
@@ranjitmandal1612If I said something wrong I apologize Happy New Year
@@mda420 no problem happy new year
OMG 40 minutes and the punchline is, "I'm not really sure?" Come on man! A review is for telling us x/5 stars and the 'cus... But still love the channel. Look forward to the follow up video where you tell us, "the rest of the story." :) ❤❤❤
za best in za North West
Wrong channel
In the East, you mean.
fixed it lol
What if you use another power supply instead of the usb power supply. A normal power supply can be balanced and have no power leakage. Usb power supplies are never balanced and give a lot of ripple.
Hello friend, how are you? I bought a used ASRock RX 6900XT OC FORMULA and I need to do maintenance to improve the temperatures but I don't know how thick the thermal pads are on that graphics card. I've looked for that information everywhere and I can't find it. If you knew, let me know. please. Thank you so much
Use a regular ruler or a caliper if you have one, if not possible just buy a 0.5mm and stack till it reaches height, not perfect but works
I got tricked into buying these by watching advertisment by other 2 YT repair business. I hope I won't regret it 😮
Voltage leak might be from the USB power supply.
Sequre, I have dealt with this company, and let me tell you that I will NEVER buy from them again!
6v to 12v leaking from the tweezers is ridiculous. That might just damage whatever you are removing in the 1st place 🙄
Nah, had a iron leaking mains into the tip and my electronics circuits are fine, had to put my feet on top of something to not get electrocuted from the tin
Depends what the current is.... And what type of circuit of course.
#Сачкун, but cool microscope
It auto sleeps, and picking it up raises from sleep.
Those are nice
sheesh could they have made the tips any longer...
I think it would be best to disassemble it and replace round socket with few permanently attached - soldered wires.
that socket and poor USB port will die from all the cable weight and bending.
I'm skeptical of a self contained solding hand pieces for long term reliability. Bought a soldering one and it broke a month later..took it apart and one chip got so hot it desoldered itself off the board.
БЬЮТИФУЛ 😆
Не аудібл, а Одібл (audible)
Great channel, at the end of the video you tested the potential voltage on the tip of the HT 140 and here is a workaround. ua-cam.com/video/se6-jGZsHS0/v-deo.htmlsi=2mKWMR2ZCB1r9mxj
Lead free solder sucks
выброси эти жала и купи 2 жала К типа , паяй на 280 градусах, с baseus 140w паяльник жрёт 100 ватт
Да, жала траш но к моему сожалению К тип не сходится достаточно близко для 0402
