Your video was very clear and concise I actually understood what you were doing. I am now following you on UA-cam and Instagram. Thank you for the down-to- earth instructions.
Yes. you are so right. You don't need many colors. I just started YouToub not long ago. I am so glad I found a good channel like yours. Thank you for sharing.
Oh my Louise, you are so cute and funny at the end of your tutorials, you make me laugh so hard. Having said that, I love the goose you painted with only 3 colours. You are an amazing artist and, you give so much information n your techniques. I just love how you paint. Thanks you, Helene
Thank you. I had an epiphany watching this video. I have been painting for 1 year. I was drawn to watercolor specifically because often watercolor paintings have that “mottled” appearance we see in this goose’s belly, the shadow. Today it hit me...you didn’t paint a bunch of colors to get that look, it is granulating paints separating out. THANK YOU!!!
Love how much you are able to do with so little! Thanks for the advice about buying fewer colors and mixing basic ones to get needed colors. Love the goose!
Too late, already have that drawer full of paints lol. You gave the BEST advice about purchasing warm/cool primary colors and learning how to mix those to create ALL the other colors! I have found that, with my drawer full of paints, it's only served to complicate this process. So, yeah...spend the money on the best paper and brushes you can afford and buy the paints you'd rather not mix at a later date. Thanks, Louise, for another fantastic video!
Thank you so much Louise for your prompt reply to my query, I now know how it all works and am looking forward to seeing more of your great tutorials. I can appreciate just how much time and effort that you must put into these tutorials putting it all together and done so professionally for all to learn and be able to switch off from the world around us to enjoy the moment and time with what we love to do most. 🤗
Superb, as usual, Louise! I also want to mention I really enjoyed your chapter in "The Art of Painting Sea Life in Watercolor". You are an excellent teacher.
Hello Louise! I’ve been following and enjoying your videos about a month now 😊 I know how to paint, the thing I need courage for is making videos! I know you’ve been at it for a while, this Covid trouble has me searching for alternative income. My favorite part of watching is your gentle personality and those silly out takes. ❤️
I have recently discovered you and I'm really impressed with your tutorials and beautiful painting. Just watching you paint and the amazing results you achieve are very relaxing.
Oh my goodness. I learned so much from watching this video. So good. I’ve only been painting a few months and struggle with negative space. I can’t seem to leave white on the subjects in my paintings. I just want to fill it in with color. This is the perfect video to show me how you don’t need a lot of colors and you don’t need to fill all the spaces on the paper. I do wonder how you decide to shape the “background” colors on the painting. It looks fabulous. I don’t know how to tell when the color is enough. Thanks again for posting this.
Haha, just received my most recent purchase today. Should have waited for this upload. Because of that, I'll stop purchasing at the moment. 😊 I always look forward to weekends because it's the only time i can watch your videos. Haven't finished them all but I learned tones already and try my best to put it to practice during the weekends. I really love how you are so candid about your learning process. More power! 💙💚💜💛
This is a great video ! It's true about watercolors they can be pricey but hopefully I can still use some Windsor & newton's that I've had for years! It's amazing that you were able to create this with only 3 primary colors! I've learnt quite a bit in this video 💛👍🐔🐓🐤 thank you !
Another very informative video. Thank you! Can't wait to paint him. I live on a lake and we have many different ducks and geese. Hopefully, some day, I can take photos of them and paint them.
Great video Louise! I love your goose painting and how the colours separate out on the belly- it makes the painting much more interesting than if you’d used ready mixed grey. Also love your portraits and the out-takes of course! Have a good weekend 😊
Finally got around to watching your video. Really nice when you use fewer colours. It keeps it fresh. I also liked the face part of your portrait with the hair. The portrait of your son turned out well, too. Very nicely done! :)
just discovered your channel last night and I have already watched a lot of your videos I love them - so helpful and RELAXING! wanted to send some love and gratitude :-) your work is beautiful, the way you teach is great and you are delightful :-) thank you!
Always a pleasure to watch your videos. This was lovely Louise . But I can’t wait to see you paint portraits, I can already see they will be amazing. Thanks so much from Tallahassee, Florida.
TIENES UN TALENTO EXCEPCIONAL, ME GUSTA COMO CAPTAS A LOS PERSONAJES, SOBRE TODO TU AUTORETRATO SE VE QUE TIENES UNOS ESTUDIOS MUY DE ALTURA, GRACIAS Y TE SEGUIRE EN TUS VIDEOS, TE SALUDO DESDE MADRID.
Hi Louise, Really enjoy your tutorials and how you explain every detail of your paintings this has helped me to make my watercolour paintings more simple without going to the expense of having to buy so many tubes of paint. I have tried to become a patron but as I am not great at working out these things on computer, I could only see the US dollar or British Pound etc but not Australian Dollar where it says change currency, not quite sure where to go from here I was looking at the $6 a month. Could you advise me as to overcome this hiccup please. Thank you Louise. 😊
Hi Sylvia, Thank you! Patreon only has USD, British Pounds and Euro conversions. I charge $6USD so your bank or however you decide to pay will convert that for you. At the moment I think the Aussie dollar is sitting at about 74 US cents so It will probably be a little over $8 Australian a month for you. It will change as the Aussie dollar changes - your bank will look after that for you though.
Fabriano artistico...ahahah very funny. I thought you had an Italian background, but actually your husband has. Thank you for your videos. You're right: we start buying loads of colours and we end up using just 5.... Can't wait to watch your next video
Awesome bloopers this week. Maybe you should learn new words with their pronunciation every week. I'm sure your husband would help. I loved his "ocker " version
Thank you, Louise! I don’t think I’ll ever paint a goose but loved listening and watching you. Your self-Portrait is beautiful! Hi to Louise’s husband too! 🥰 Btw will you be adding a class to skillshare anytime soon?
Lovely goose! We have lots of Canada Geese here in Oregon, you have inspired me to try to do one of them, I think they are elegant! Fun bloopers... is your husband Italian?, or does he just have a good Italian accent? I think yours was quite respectable! p.s. the portraits, esp. the one of your son, are excellent!
Louise how to decide when to use a warmer grey against a cooler grey? Also can i use any other blue besides ultramarine blue to mix greys? Bcoz i hv 2 tubes of prussian blue n none of ultramarine!😐😐
You can use any two complementary colours to make a grey. I usually let the reference photo help me decide whether the colour should be cooler or warmer. Cool colours recede and warm colours advance so if you want the area you are painting to go back a bit- go for a cool colour. If you want it to come forward- choose a warmer colour.
I love this goose and that you only used three colors. I'm just starting with watercolor. I think you did a really nice job on the portraits, I could see it was you easily. I like the one of your son too. Your outtakes are something else. Thank you for sharing 🌞🌞🌞
So delicate and informative video! Thank you so very much!!!!
Nicely explained using only 3primary colours..I will start water colour painting now .
Absolutely stunning!
Your video was very clear and concise I actually understood what you were doing. I am now following you on UA-cam and Instagram. Thank you for the down-to- earth instructions.
Awesome! Thank you Patricia! 💕
AMAZING! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you and thanks for watching Jackie 💕!
So lovely!
Best advise for sure:Three colors! After all they are the primaries all others come from!
am so addicted with your "bloopers".. so humbly natural.
sometimes I'll just forward and watch it first for warm up then go back for the tutorial.
As I re-watch your tutorials, the outtakes are classic! The two of you make me laugh out loud!
Yes. you are so right. You don't need many colors. I just started YouToub not long ago. I am so glad I found a good channel like yours. Thank you for sharing.
Love love love your paintings thank you so much and God bless you.
Love you're "bloopers" in the end; they make it more clear that these tutorials are not "that" easy to post. Let alone the great work!
Glad you like them! They take a lot of work. Thank you.
The subject is lovely; the teacher leads you by the hand; your doubts never remain unanswered. There is no excuse, I must try this one 😊🌹
Many thanks! 💕

Thanks very much Sylvia. Painting in watercolour and keeping as busy as I do certainly takes my mind off everything. It keeps me sane. 🥰
This goose was beautiful, and only 3 colors. Loved your self portrait.
Thank you very much Dora!
Superb, as usual, Louise! I also want to mention I really enjoyed your chapter in "The Art of Painting Sea Life in Watercolor". You are an excellent teacher.

Thank you Daniela! So true. 😃
👑Excellent!!💎Big like!!!👑
Very Lovely & Thank you !
Thank you Beverley.
Thanks! Looking forward to trying it on Patreon. Still unsure of warm and cool colours and their effect on the look of the painting
Thanks Diana. Just remember that cool recedes and warm advances. So if you want to push something back, stay away from warm colours.
@@LouiseDeMasi Thank you. That is extremely helpful.
Awesome bloopers this week. Maybe you should learn new words with their pronunciation every week. I'm sure your husband would help. I loved his "ocker " version
Hi Louise. When will this tutorial be published on patreon? Thank you! 💗
Hi Margret, I'm currently working on the elephant. When it's finished I'll get started on the goose. Thanks!
Louise De Masi Thank you! 💗
I'm able to paint the white cow in three colors. It's looking great. :)
That is awesome! Clever lady.....Thanks Zarah. 💕
The link shows that you used Fabiano Artistco Rough. It didn’t look rough to me on the video though.
Loved the tutorial. But now I’ll have to go buy Indianyellow. Or is there a good substitute.
Thanks Donna. I'd run out and recently bought a new tube. I've been mainly using Winsor Lemon. Transparent Yellow is another good yellow too.
love your videos :)
Thank you Katarina. 💜
I'm your first viewer and comment. Hope Australia's doing better again covid. God bless
Thank you Christina!
Lmao farbriarno arteestico! Love eet :)
My admiration 🌹🌹🌹

I love the pallet you are using in this video. Can you add a link where to find? Thank you!
Hi Louise - I checked Amazon and was able to find it ;-)
Hi, did you stretch the paper? Thanks 😊
Thank you, Louise! I don’t think I’ll ever paint a goose but loved listening and watching you. Your self-Portrait is beautiful! Hi to Louise’s husband too! 🥰 Btw will you be adding a class to skillshare anytime soon?
Thank you so much Bee! Later in the year I plan to.
Thank you for the video!
PS: I loved your Italian pronunciation :D
Thank you Chiara! My husband at it. 😝😃
So good! Great advice about the colours, I don't have two boxes of artist qually paints collecting dust. ;-)
Lol..... You live and learn! Thanks Don.

Louise do you offer your drawings for sale? I'd love your goose drawing.
Yes I do! I'll be needing it until I finish editing the full length tutorial for Patreon but after that I can sell it.
Please let me know when it's available.
Do you consider each of these three primary colors to be neutral colors?
I love this goose and that you only used three colors. I'm just starting with watercolor.

Lol...He loves his coffee. Thanks Susan.

I thought she said 30 not 13
30- must be my accent. 31 this year.
Excellent content, as always! Did you say your son was 30 ? Can't be ...you look far too young! Must have said 13!
Yes....lol! Thank you!.31 this year....time flies 😳💕.
