I've not even watched yet but I'm excited! Bob Shea, seems to be the #1 source for incredible infrared photography info! I would heartily recommend his book!! I'm in the UK and shipping was a bit on the pricey side, I would have loved the physical copy of the book but I bought the eBook instead and found it amazing. Thanks for everything Bob!
This video helps with color swapping/shifting, but through experimentation I found something that may be as simple but not needing 6 layers. As of 1/27/2024, this works in the latest Windows version. The steps are: 1. Open the color editor tool and select the 'Advanced' tab. 2. Click on the plus '+' below the grey circle of the color tool, you will now see the color wheel in the full HSL colors. 3. Move the Hue slider 30 degrees (without using the eyedropper) and the color wheel will rotate. (Unfortunately for now you can only do +/- 30 degrees at a time). 4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 five times. When you have done this, the color editor will show 6 separate color shifts with a check box showing a delta-H of 30 for each one. 5. click on the "hamburger" for the color editor (this is the three lines drop down menu) and select 'Save Custom Preset...' and name it to whatever you want to. You can now use this as you see fit. You can also uncheck any of the color editor adjustments as you see fit. Play around with this to get something you like. If you save it as a custom preset, you can also turn around and apply it to a specific layer or the entire base image.
Thanks for posting this update on capture one Rob. I have been wanting to get more into IR photography but always found it very cumbersome swapping the colours.
Thanks for posting this Rob. Would you be able to use the RGB level tool to color swap or does that just yield a negative similar to what you get with film?
I'm working in CaptureOne 22 still and unfortunately, you can't save multiple layers with your styles. Still, I love the tool even if it's limited for color swapping.

I spent some time trying to use the Curves RGB to swap colors, but without blend modes in Layers, you are limited to getting a film negative look.

I only use infrared for black and white images and capture one is great for that but then it’s a much simpler process.
Rob, there is a very simple way to use the Skin Tone tool to change any color to any other color.
While the Advanced tool has a Hue range of -30 to +30 degrees, the Skin Tone tool only has a Hue range of -5 to +5 degrees.
I thought Capture One was limited to a max of 16 layers?
