No they shouldn't. The NES version which has inferior graphics is still better than this and holds up very well today because it's game play is far smoother. Yet another example of people wanting remakes just for the sake of it. HD/4K graphics don't make games any better.
This is TAS video (as I said in the description of video in case you didn't read it). I'm not good at this game so I used save state option within MAME emulator. It means that when I died I just loaded saved state and re-recorded. So if player looks hit by some projectile and still survives it is because hitbox was missed and it's legit what can occur in game. Otherwise I would just re-recorded it. I have few videos like this on channel and I clearly stated that they are TAS, just like this one. Cheers.

It only took 7 developers to create this Arcade game. Just shows how Konami used to be epic as hell.

Contra is my favorite all-time arcade game and on the NES a Super C and Contra 3 the Alien Wars an operation Contra on GameBoy

the only bad thing i can say about this game was that it was soooooo easy to finish. Always will be a classic though!!

Surely there were dip switches to alter the difficulty like most arcade games. Seems like the enemies are dying incredibly fast and is overall easy.
The Arcade version is much easier than the NES version but it is tool assisted.
