- At the request from a good friend of mine, SaikyoStyle (The guy who made the two combo videos I have up...Go check out his channel!), I did a video walkthrough / playthrough / runthrough / etc of the SNES Contra III: The Alien Wars. I play on the hard difficulty setting.
Some fights (like that freaking second top-down boss fight) might have taken longer than it should have. I didn't want to just go kamikaze on the thing and waste lives, so I spent some time collecting bombs....All in all, I think I did fairly well....
And to all you naysayers out there, yes, I don't get hit. After playing this game time and time again, I finally was able to get through it. There's a ton of close calls, but thanks to the actual hitboxes, I don't actually make contact with the enemy/bullet/whatever. You have no idea how many times I attempted to make this video. I'm sorry if you aren't able to do the same, but after Buddha knows how many attempts, I was finally able to get lucky enough. It's amazing what nonstop practice can do.... - Ігри

Mine 2! Its crazy that most of the games on the super nes havent aged a bit... I can play them to this day and the graphics are still good whereas once games went 3d they aged so badly you cant even play them anymore!

I play this game on the snes classic bro, you gotta go straight COMMANDO. use shotguns and flamethrowers, flamethrowers are good for clearing hordes and shotguns are good for doing damage on enemies close up (duh). Hope you take the advice! Have fun playing man.

god the nostalgia! i remember playing this when i was like 7 years old in the 90s. This game creeped me the fuck out. I was so distressed playing this game but I couldn't stop trying over and over and over hahaha. My hands were sweaty every time. I'm proud to say, I did beat this game a few times, but boy were they an ordeal. Must've tried close to a hundred times.
A man just getting brings back a lot of memories... I've been a gamer all my life but the reason why and I do believe others feel this way too is that playing this game, the reason it was so special to play games like this one especially this one what's the fact that it was two players which means that you either play with your brothers cousins as well as your friends.. and there was the fact that you were spending time with a friend about your younger or your family the real reason why it's so special. Games like this is reason why you have good memories us a child because spending time with others and that's why this game means a lot... God knows how many times you were so mad cuz we end up dying

That's just the nostalgia speaking from you. I'm not saying the Game is bad, it was absolutely amazing for its time and I still play it sometimes, but if you compare this to let's say Witcher 3 and say this Game is better then idk what to say to you honestly

Which I agree with him on this, a lot of the action movies now wish they could top Contra in over the top action. Riding cruise missiles into an alien ship while destroying the shields? Shit is peak kinography.

Oh my gosh I just got so much nostalgia. I’m a modern day gamer and I have only been around for less than 2 decades but I remember when my dad bought me a Wii when I was 5. I played this game (I think it came preloaded on the Wii) for hours. I was so bad too, I don’t think I ever beat it. I still have the Wii, I need to plug it back in and try to beat the game!

Excellent run through, I recently bought this game on the Wii U store and am having such a hard time with it, used to be great at this game when I was younger but now I can barely get past the second stage haha, guess I need to practice. Once again run though!

This was seriously one of the best games ever made for Snes, right up there with Metroid and others. They were just so fun to play back then. I always got just past the missile jump airplane boss and those 2 red and blue skeletons. (can't remember which came first) but I loved this game and never even owned it. Not sure why... this guy seems to like that Laser, where I always thought the flamethrower/homing missile was the best combo. You could go so far without loosing a life if you could just get that combo

This was the only Contra game I played/owned and I remember it being so hard. T_T I never beat it but, my brother did. I wish I knew where my copy went off to because, I'd play it.
+Ikari dude you can et a snes emulator eg snes9x then search for super contra 3 rom, and downlload te smc file or download a zip and extract the smc. and open it in snes9x
boliussa that sounds like a lot of work , it’s better to buy the mini Super Nintendo version where the game is already included
@@amauryagraz5842 Your method is a lot of work. The mini seems to still plug into the mains it's not like a game gear mini.. it costs.. The way I mention is simple.. You have a program and it opens files. You can download any game you want quite easily, a game is just one file. You can't get simpler than that. Using a computer doesn't get simpler than that.

Había un control (Joystick) automático, con el que podías combinar el arma 'C' con el arma 'H' en un mismo disparo.
Salía un bonito combo, todo el poder de los Cohetes con la direccionalidad de las municiones H.

lol You sure do know your Contra games. And you have an uncanny ability to escape seemingly impossible traps. Your lengthy dance against the sand boss made me laugh. 35:00 was just insane! I wonder about your weapon choices throughout (spread shot isn't particularly great in Contra III), but I get the distinct impression you were just showing off, maximizing your risk for kudos points.
Nah...The spread shot has always been my go to gun. There might be better guns out there for sure, but I've always used it as a kid, so I don't consider it showing off or anything. I didn't mean to at least. And I've been told I could have done a bit better with the anthill boss and spinning around...Obviously my brain wasn't in the right place during the time...I was worried about not getting hit, which I thankfully go through just fine after awhile.
I still have the Genesis Contra games to do, but they have so many endings, and so many characters, I'm not sure how to approach it...I'd have to do multiple videos with multiple paths with hopefully all the characters to get the endings....It's not something I can just rush into...
SaikyoMog Peronally I think that the Spread Gun in Contra 3 somehow feels weaker than in Contra and Super C, and only seems truly effective at close range.
My weapons of choice are usually F and C (that combo is perfect for the entire Stage 3), and sometimes I use H as well, if there are many weaker enemies on the screen at the same time.
Laurelindo The Contra 3 spread gun IS weaker than the NES counterparts. The reason why is the rate of fire. In Contra 3 you can only fire the spread gun two shots at a time (two full spreads of five bullets), which makes the gun poorly suited for power attacks at anything other than short range. The game further limits the spread's effectiveness by locking the rate of fire even in situations where the shots don't have to travel all the way to the far side of the screen for you to fire again. This was done to correct a well-known exploit in the NES games where you can sacrifice the spread gun's spread characteristics in favor of rate of fire. Players with exceptionally quick fingers (or a turbo controller) could make the spread gun behave like a super machine gun and inflict crazy DPS when the situation demanded it, with the added bonus of reverting to classic characteristics by simply slowing your mashing of the fire button - effectively having a utility weapon and a power weapon in a single gun. It was overpowered in every sense of the word. Gloriously so. It also killed the challenge. Even average players could blow through the game quickly once they learned the stages, as long as they had the spread.

en el modo hard aun asi presiones ese boton el remolino de arena te saca la mierd4 y te marea no funciona en el modo hard los que jugamos en este nivel lo sabemos
