    Here are two portrait sketch time lapses that I had a lot of fun painting! :) I used the Procreate app and my iPad Pro. :) I'm really loving using a mint palette lately.

    I've tried copying the first one, as I've just bought ipad pro and procreate. A very enjoyable experience, thank you for the demonstration and helping me figure out all sorts on this thing lol. I don't actually mind the outcome albeit no comparison in the slightest to yours. I hope you don't mind me using your work to learn from x

    Wow. Awesome sketches.
    And it's also amazing to see what the iPad is really capable of.

    This feature totally makes up for the fact that you don’t get to hold something handmade when you’re done painting.
    I love your brushwork and dynamic strokes.

    It’s not the app that’s amazing, it’s YOU.

    Hey Gabrielle! I really loe your work. Let me say you that I almost prefer this kind of rough sketches more than the more finished ones, that are also incredibles. I was painting in Photoshop with and old Wacom tablet and now I am starting with the iPad Pro. Looking for references and apps I meet your job and, at this moment, is my favourite type of portrait. Congratulations for you work!

    Hi, you are a really talented artist! I’ve got one question, what brush do you use for blending ? 😍

      @gabriellebrickey  6 років тому

      Thank you! :) Lately I like blending with the soft pastel in Proceate using the smudge tool.

      Thank you! :D Yes I used the Oil paint brush and 6B sketching brush from the older version of Procreate, plus some others. This was made in a pre release version of Procreate 4 though. So there were some other brushes I used that are not now on the newer release of Procreate 4. I'm going to make a little free pack of all my favorites included here though. I'll update here and on my new videos when I do! :D Thanks again :)

      Also, I love the soft pastel brush for smudging lately. Not sure if I did it here, but I do it all the time now. Works great!

      I have a Procreate iPad Pro/ Procreate class that you can watch on Skillshare skl.sh/2tnqNci or download from Gumroad gum.co/ipadpro :) There I walk through my process for portraits.

    howw do you choose your colors?

    • @gabriellebrickey
      @gabriellebrickey  6 років тому

      For this one in particular, I made a little swatch set in Procreate by color picking a few important colors from my photo ref and used them as my base colors. Then, as I needed to adjust colors, I would push the hue, saturation, and value, depending on where it needed to go. I find that still life painting and portrait painting from life are good to do to better your color perception. I hope to do more color studies soon. :)

    Just like all your other videos you don’t tell people how to use it when you make your time lapse

    • @gabriellebrickey
      @gabriellebrickey  5 років тому

      Johnny Vandenberg because it’s simply a time lapse. Not all my videos are tutorials. If you want to learn how to do it though, I have classes on both Skillshare and gumroad. :)
