Rest in Peace Paul Reubens 1952-2023. As a child I was shy, intelligent, and often bullied. Being bullied and playing alone is never fun. The Pee Wee Herman character entertained me. I never stopped laughing. His playhouse felt like a second home, and yes, I bought the old 80’s Playhouse (Recently I acquired a 2nd one in box just bc). Saw all the movies. @mikelisacarb You’re correct Mike. Both Paul and his alter ego, Pee Wee, combated many obstacles. A too well known example: after the theater incident I remember watching the MTV Video Music Awards. Seeing Paul appear before millions of people, dressed and in character; “Heard any good jokes lately? Oh, so funny I forgot to laugh.” Remembering that moment today? WOW 😮!! He’s a person built of insurmountable courage. Can you imagine having that much courage and faith in yourself, other people, what you created? A person who continued moving forward, doing his absolute best? Happened again following his silent 6 year battle with cancer. So yes, I understood what you meant completely. I appreciate the wisdom 🙏
