We're really seeing peak harley davidson right now arent we? This is the best time to be a harley performance fan. This stuff is awesome.
I absolutely LOVE my Fat Boy with the SE Ohlins monoshock in it.
I have never heard of the tappet cuffs failing. I replaced mine, but I dont think I needed it. They're used in Corvette engines right? If it's fine in a car liek that why is it bad in a Harley?
I think it's probably hype to sell parts.

I've only done rocker studs on my bikes. Customers simplybdont want to pay for the labor. With that being said, I've yet to have a customer complain about failure. I also believe the failure is due to not setting your adjustable push rod in the pocket. People do cam jobs themselves because it easy. But most people fail to realize how it's done properly

I have a '22 LRST, i'm not the original owner but it has a 30/30 cam and the previous owner did swap for the S&S tappet cuffs but did not do the rocker studs. 15k+ and no issues thus far. I did, however, see a video from Feuling where he talked about the aluminum tappet cuffs not being a good thing because you can get tiny metal shavings from the slight rotation of the lifter and a better alternative being a higher quality plastic material being used, more similar to the OEM.

At the dealer I work at we never do the studs. We do like the S&S cuffs most of the time and really only see an issue with the plastics when taking them out doing a cam job.
The rocker arm bolts have been a NON issue. We NEVER do those and I myself haven’t seen or heard a guy come back with that issue.
Most of the issues I’ve seen and heard about at the shop are lifter failures with a good amount of mileage on a tall cam. For instance the 131’s, most of the time it’s lifter failure. After 20-30k miles.

I saw in the Thrashin cam upgrade video that the guys at Feuling recommend not changing the tappet cuffs due to tolerance issues. Hell, Corvettes and Camaros have been running plastic lifter cuffs for decades. I left the plastic cuffs and also kept the stock cam plate and oil pump after watching Master Tech Miller. The bike now has 30,000+ miles since the cam job and no issues to be seen. I think a lot of this stuff is just up sales. I could see replacing the cam plate and oil pump if you are building a 200 hp engine, but it is unnecessary on a simple cam upgrade. Put that money toward suspension!

I’ve had 3 M8 bikes and all had cams done. Always used adjustable pushrods and never touched the rocker boxes or changed the oil pump/cam plate. Have used billet lifter cuffs though. They were all on 2020 or newer bikes so they had the revised oil pump. The ONLY issue I’ve had, and it’s not really an issue, is the noisy rockers. They probably need to have shims put in but that’s not a fatal issue n

Costs so much to make twin cam/big twin make big power vs the M8 but the price of a good Harley Davidson these days is pretty ridiculous (though you do get more for your money now). In a weird place where it’s almost better build a twin cam over time when you can afford it vs paying 500+ a month for a motorcycle. I have heard the 2020 and up M8s have a better cam plate and higher flow oil pump. I would like to try this on my bike.

Now With the Support of the Alphabet community Harley-Davidson is unstoppable. A literal Transgender man Helped build this new model. So cool right? 🤩, All races! all 150 real genders coming together to Build this Amazing Bike. The quality may not be top tier yet, but as long as Harley stays inclusive, the bikes will eventually get better. I would rather have a broken motorcycle, knowing that a transgender helped build it then a good running motorcycle built by a white man devil.. support the rainbow 🌈, support Harley. We are winning! Gay pride, Gay proud, choose Harley
