When I had my locs I got maintenance every 6 months I recently took out my locs (vid coming soon) I'll grow my hair for a few more months then going to do locs again 😌 And keep them in longer
I crochet my locs A LOT. Sometimes, it takes up to a week, to go through all my hair after wash. I have had them for almost 5 years now, and I feel that it causes a lot of breakage to crochet them. They never fall out, but small hair sticks out everywhere. I have a good method, because it has always worked out with the crochet, but now it just frizz more out. I (almost) Bet it has something to do with the crochet needle. On the Long term, it destroys your hair. And it will only get worse with time.
Your locs shouldnt be crochet constantly. You are exactly right, it thins them out over time. The crochet needle is used to do a instant look and very helpful when starting locs on an individual with straight here. To take care of the frizz, just sit under the dryer or blow dry your hair after retwist. Your locs become naturally smooth over time, but that may never happen if the hair is straight or curly.
Lmao bro what? Dreads are definitely not only for statement because boboshante's get dreads from birth for religious purposes and people get dreads to show how long they been doing something for example Weezy and it's mainly for look for sure
I have straight hair and I started my locks around 4 inches and I put in extensions… I have like two big bald spots on each side of my head that I am hiding with extra pieces threaded in lol The bald spots are from pulling my hair out not because I’m going bald so in about three months it should all grow back and then six months after that I should be able to put locks in those as well… Before last year I had like 42 inches of hair 😮 but I shaved it all off because I was just getting annoyed with the maintenance in the fact that I really could only wear it up or else it would get nodded at the bottom with dreads I really don’t have to worry about them getting nodded because like they’re supposed to be lol … hopefully by next year ill have a nice set of dreads i can be proud of
Take out the extension and let your hair breath or you can destroy your hair , next time just wait a year if you don't want the short dread then do instant lock
There’s no preparing to be done tbh just start with two strand twists or box braids etc. and leave it and get a retwist every couple of months when you get some new regrowth
Yea, dont listen to this guy. They Damien Walter's on you tube. He is the only person who gives honest answers. He is a bit comical about it, but all facts
I just started my locs yesterday night any tips? And things I should use until they loc up I was told to go back and get a retwists every 3 weeks until they loc up
That's true for new locs. It takes locs 6-12 months to totally loc, but once your locs are locking from the tip up, you can them retwisted less. Oil or grease is food for your locs, so put it on your scalp 3 days a week. The biggest reason for breakage and locs falling out is dryness. No water mixture needed, because nothing should go on your loc, just your scalp and or new grow. Cover your hair every night, keep your scalp oiled and dont wash your hair or get it wet. That's all you need to know for new locs.
Ayo I wanted to know if you could do a video on ceedee lambs dreads I really want my dreads to look like his but don’t know how to start them. Also can I start a set of locs with instant Loc method then switch to twisting with gel
You wouldnt itch is you oiled your scalp 3 times a week. I never had a itchy scalp. Most men dont ever oil or grease their scalp. If it's bad, try Sulpher 8. It also helps with hair growth
Almost everything you said in the beginning was completely not true. So much of it is false, that I cant even tell you what to start on. You can indeed use a product called wild grow on your scalp 3 days a week. Your locs will grow like a weed. Your locs will shrink as ling as they continue to grow. Dont let your locs hang because they are heavy. You have no experience just doing your locs over and over, taking them down, which is why your locs look so bad. I have been doing locs for 13 years and you really should not be giving such bad information
i love your message. i have a problem, with you calling your locks, Dreds. the English called the people that had locks, "those dreded locks" so dred locks is not a term, you should use, because white people use that term, because they did not like Us. please just call them locs. thank you
I wanted to get some dreads soon by getting locks on my afro, great tips

You make the best dreadlock content on the UA-cam
