I really enjoy your videos. I'm not a collector, but over the years, I've been a "serial accumulator" (my term) of comics, toy, games, etc. I was also a retired TV animation producer/director. I also have a small storyboarding credits on two separate X-Men TV shows. I'm sharing screen grabs of you with the X-men & Black Panther comic with the X-Men ''97 t-shirt with my friend Larry Houston, director of the original series, and consultant on the X-Men 97 series. Larry is always glad to see fans still enjoy the show. He does a lot of comic con, so look for him in your area, and tell him I sent you. Thanks again, and all the best.
Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
Great video! I go to yard sales all the time because we sell online. I just started collecting comic books a couple years ago. I am always surprised at finding comics at yard sales but have found several. Keep up the great videos! I am learning a lot about comics watching your show. Thanks!
Usagi Yojimbo is my absolute favorite!!! The stories are amazing, lots of history about Japanese culture baked into the series-for reading I recommend the Fatagraphics hard cover collection-then the dark horse epic collection 🤓
Thanks for sharing, Mike. As you stated, the haul was good but the hunt was the fun part…By the way, think you hit the nail on the head when you said “she seemed a little high” when you referenced those prices…😊
I always enjoy your videos, but showing that DD 9 at the end was awesome! Great book! It's one of my favorites in my collection! Good luck on finding your DD #1!
Went on a little hunt today and ended up grabbing 6 long box's of comics and a suitcase filled with comics from a person who did a tag sale last weekend. I'm pretty excited to go through them and see what's inside. As always Happy Hunting and see you out there 🤘
Amazing video!👍👏 I just began my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They have an incredible range of digital comics for every genre, including the hard to find ones. Lifetime updates too!😁
Great video Mike. I love Usagi Yojimbo and have read the original runs on Kindle. I do own a couple of colour paperbacks. I think you got a great deal on the Kitsune first appearance comic. The series is definitely worth reading. Cheers!!!
You are definitely hitting allot of tag sales. When I saw those wet books I perked up. Reminded me of that vendor at the Brimfield flea market who had a ton of wet books. Didn’t find anything good though. Oh well. It’s always hit or miss.
Nice scenery and nice range of comics. By the way Mike, Mark Millar's surname is pronounced the same as Frank Miller's surname, the stress is on the first syllable in both cases.
@1:06 - Buy a few of those camera mounts and keep them in your car(s), house, wherever... you said they were cheap! I did the same with my sunglasses, always at the ready, no fear of leaving them behind.
"Just keep going" - absolutely; it's purely a numbers game. I don't do yard/garage sales but only because I'm typically not available on weekend mornings. But the same mentality applies to antique shops, etc.
I would have picked up those groo books. I also liked The iron man captain america dog tags toys. The World War Hulk book is cool. They banished him to space because they thought he would be too much of a wild card in the Civil war storyline. You made an excellent trade for those toys for that daredevil book congratulations.
I feel like Groo is grossly under rated, Sergio Aragones and Stan Sakai are true living legends of the industry. Although I have the complete Pacific and marvel Epic runs, I still pick up Groo books when I come across them. I give them to kids, doing my part to get them to read comics.
I noticed in that first stop you made there were a few American reprints of 2000AD stories that were published in the 90’s. I noticed a Dan Dare and Sam Slade Robo Hunter in there. They were released through Quality Comics in the US and printed in colour. We only got them in black and white in the UK.
Usagi Yojimbo is my second favorite title after Groo The Wanderer. It was in those very pages of Groo, that I would see Stan Sakai's name credited as the letterer for Sergio Aragone's funny book. Usagi has been published by Fantagraphics #1-38, Mirage #1-16 and Dark Horse #1-165, IDW #1-31 and presently with Dark Horse. A wonderful series, very kid friendly title I will always keep my Groo and Usagi Yojimbo in my personal collection. Mike, you've got to give Usagi a read, I'm sure you'll hunt them.
Mike, Love the Chanel! Recent viewer, but I’ve been Binge Watching!.. I noticed You have More CGC Comics behind You, some that look like from Your earlier Videos. Could You do a Video on them, Where You got them and when You got them Graded? I think that would be a Greatly Fascinating Video! Keep up the Good Work, Thanks and God Bless!!!
@@DustyBro645 thanks for watching! I think a new video would be difficult to do, but all of them appeared in various videos when I picked them up, but maybe if you keep binging you’ll eventually stumble upon their origins!
Here's a super cool idea. Read the comic book you might find you like independent comic books and I've seen some of them that were in that box that you were coming through no a lot of them were a lot More than 50 Cent books.
Just got the Omnibus for Old Man Logan and it was great! loved the conclusion from 2009 giant sized! it was pretty amazing i would say better than the movie
I wish that I could find something remotely worth picking up at yard sales, however, the only thing i find is Donald Duck in my native language. There are very seldom English comics anywhere except comic stores where I live and the closest one is 2 hours away. Strangely enough because we are a very international country.
Hi Mike, not trying to be a wisenheimer, but I would appreciate it if you could speak a little bit slower. Just a request, my receptors aren't as fast. Your son should be proud to have a "fun" father that enjoys such a fun hobby. 😀👍

In a time when a large McDonalds french fry costs more than $5, it's my personal belief that .25 cents for a intact comic book is ridiculously underpriced. Sure you should be able to buy comic books as a wholesaler at .10 cents when you are buying hundreds, but for individuals? $1 should be a starting price for anything based on todays prices.
Comics at a yard sale or swap should never be more than a dollar, I don't know why people who don't know jack about comic books just assume the older comic books are they should be valuable.
You skipped a lot of stuff I would take like Groo, Nam, The Authority, Punisher War Journal, higher numbered Classic X-Men, and Wetworks. She is RIGHT! Those are NOT 50 cent books! Unpicked boxes like that SHOULD BE priced at $2-$3 each IMHO (UNTIL the collection is thoroughly picked, which it obviously WAS NOT) Also, those books were way higher than average condition. I wouldn't have bought the Usagi Yojimbo with that bad crease on it. F/VF 7.0 IMHO
