Why Chinese food is the best in the world - it has so many different varieties. Like 100 types of food..you will never get bored exploring new dishes... LOVE CHINESE FOOD
@@thecat4272It’s a beautiful city. But it’s quite expensive. A lot of rich Chinese businessmen from Shanghai have villas in the hills by the lake. There are also poor areas in the outskirts. And you have to realize that long term living in China will bring many difficulties, especially for foreigners. But in terms of lifestyle, it beats pretty much any American city. Waking up everyday in that environment brings a lot of positivity and joy.
The more I watch your videos the more I want to visit China, I am not much of a Chinese food fan but watching these videos shows how different the food looks compared to Chinese take aways and restaurants here in the UK, keep up the videos!! I love them.
All so called "Chinese food" in the world except China are not really Chinese food. If you want to try real Chinese food I suggest you go to China in person, and I believe you can stay there for many years even if you try every different kind of Chinese food once a time for a day!
Yeah, what a character! I thought: "I should drink more tea". Who wouldn't want to meet her? Looks like a pretty nice life around there. Good dumplings, delicious tea, people dancing outside, this doesn't look bad at all.
Trevor you remind me of those foreign scholars and traders during the Han and Tang Dynasties who made China their home. Your rapport and interaction with the locals is great. You follow the Confucius mannerisms, you become like a huaxia. :-)
VERY WELL DONE! Went to the kitchen and threw those Top Raman noodles into the broth with some ginger & garlic tea I made that was not very tasty, put some real bits of lemon in it and made my own Chinese dinner tonight! Still can't make pot stickers or the "din sum" stuff but really good. Now we can dump that video going around that claims that dog, cat, snake and rat are on everyone's dining list! WE know it ain't true-and none of the U.S. Chinese have ever served it; Vey Good Food Ranger! Please go to Taiwan next for some Pan noodles ?
Hangzhou is one of the ancient capitals in China. Now it's hosting the 2016 G20 Summit on Sep 4 -5, you can find many reports on its history, culture, scenic beauty & economy on youtube. Here are 2 of the many intro reports on Hangzhou ( in English) entitled : G-20 Summit: China Trumpets Hangzhou's Charms Watch: It’s paradise on earth as China’s Hangzhou gets ready for G20 Summit
Man, the tea lady is great! Looks like a decent life, and clearly it isn't hurting her to drink a lot of tea. I would love to visit this place, eat potstickers, visit the tea lady! You can buy that tea in America, but for the most part if you want potstickers you have to make them yourself.
what i ilke about trevor is he's not just showing food that commonly being sold around the street in a big city. but he is going deep. he travels to many parts of china that even maybe not every chinesse know where that is. he also always communicate with the locals. showing how friendly they are. he also being honest with the judgement if the food is not that good he's not afraid to rate them 5/10 or even lower. he's video is not just about food, it's more than that.it's his dedication to tell the world about how friendly chinnese people can be. i hope you continue making the video. i really enjoyed it
The sweet lady let you pick tea and serve you at her home, what an experience that must've been! Is it true that Chinese elders take pride in their age, and are not offended when asked how old they are? I know it is okay to do so in some countries but wasn't sure about China.
I love watching these videos because I used to live in Shanghai, and when I moved to the US, I just had a crave for Chinese street food! This really satisfied my cravings!
Yeah, it would be great if he could do a specific more specialised video on the different types of tea and how they make it, what makes each leaf different etc.
Hangzhou is quite great. lean and tasty. I know that Sichuan is kind of famous for their chilly and oily dishes but I'd prefer Hangzhou dishes over Sichuan's
Indeed. It's a taste refined with the best middle-upper class Chinese could offer in the past millennia. Sichuan's more about common folks's wit enjoying the daily life.
This is so great, I really appreciate your genuine interactions with people who are in your videos, it says so much more than making proclamations about the entire country which I see too much in other peoples' videos.
Some parts of China are beautiful; other parts are rubbish, people spitting on the sidewalk every 10 seconds, dropping their used tissues here and there on the street, finger to close one nostril as the blow out the snot on the sidewalk. Go to China and spend a few months or years to see it is a big mix of good and awful things.
Soup dumplings...one of my favorites. My mom dreams these with napa cabbage instead of paper. It's soo good and nothing wasted! Your videos are getting better each time I watch. Love the tea plantation. 👍😊
Trevor's earnest approach to food documentaries is so refreshing and he doesn't muddle it with any pretense, which so many "foodie" videos seem to do. I realized I don't just watch these videos to see all the amazing food he explores across the world, but to feel better about humanity knowing there are ambassadors of goodwill like Trevor fighting the good fight.
My Irish friend said that if you go walk into a European restaurant, they give you a menu with only one page, but if you walk into a Chinese restaurant, they give you a fucking book.
I'm glad you got the chance to visit Hangzhou! Hangzhou is one of my favorite cities in China. Your video reminded me of 西湖醋鱼 That is so delicious!! And btw, you are ought to try steamed little buns in Wuxi, that is the place where steamed little buns originated and they got very authentic flavor!
10/10 is a must have food! Also, Trevor, you can't say " Can i eat one? " wo keyi chi yige ma ? it means you are asking for 1 piece for free ! Can be misunderstood! Instead, you may say, " keyi gei wo lai yifeng ma ? Can i order one please?
True, actually when u want to order in China, u dont even need to ask, just "get wo lai yifen ba", it's not about politeness, just more usual way to express in Chinese
Lol, I like when the chef says Hangzhou food is all about light in taste. And when you see the dishes, they are all marinated in heavy soy sauce. But, I have to say Hangzhou dishes are very delicious and present beautiful on table! Love it!
Man, I am Chinese myself, but still can't get over the sheer quantity of good food in China, and how crazy cheap they are! Just imagine a trip back to China, just for a tour of the food. !!
So the place is named "fatty flatbread" because the owner is fat.. But the owner isn't even that fat, he's just a little chubby lol. Would be normal weight in the west.
Lance Baker no. Italy and France are nowhere near the food diversity of China. Don’t misunderstand me, the food is still good, but it’s about the same every time.
Hey Trevor...Well, that didn't take long, now you are over 200K subs! Awesome! you will be at 1 million before you know it! Incredible journey you are taking us on. Really appreciate the work!
One Chinese word I learned from watching Trev's video is "tai howler" I think I'm going to use that whenever I don't know what to say. You can't go wrong :)
That tea lady is very sweet! She seems really happy and peaceful. And so is her "life partner". I'm a bit dissapointed that you didn't chat with him. What a wonderful family! I hope they all live together in peace and prosperity.
OMG! I'm watching it from London, this brings back so much memories of uni time, i frequented Pangzi shao bing 15 years ago when it was a small corner at the back of Zhejiang University, run by the owner himself and his son. 20 years of dedicated life!

Why Chinese food is the best in the world - it has so many different varieties. Like 100 types of food..you will never get bored exploring new dishes... LOVE CHINESE FOOD
You can find 100 types of food in one single province, man!
yes ,this is true
More than 10000

Only 100? 100 in one province? Are you guys kidding? Even on a 100 meters street, the types of food are more than 100.
Just one thing I have noticed... Each & everyone in this video is so nice ♡♥♡ I love their smiles.... ☺☺

The lady was so lovely, just wanna give her a big hug, reminds me of my Grandma
Wow chinese people are so humble👌👏👏
Take a shot every time Trevor says 太好了, get drunk.
I'd probably pass out by the middle of the video. Lol
Does it mean "Awesome" or "Great"?
is it checheny?
Samuel Clinton It means "Awesome". Trevor says it a lot. It's read as dai hao le. :)
tai hao le , precisely. :)
I'd love to meet that adorable tea lady! She's like a world treasure!

This is probably the first 10/10 he ever rated.
in recent history, iirc he gave the vegetarian indian restaurant a 10/10
There were a few 10/10 when he was in India I believe.
In India most of the dishes were 8.5-10. Indian food rocks.
Hangzhou food is the best Chinese food.
There should be a lot can be rated 10/10
Yeh but chinese food is more his style and expertise which is why it is impressive
the old lady is so nice :)
most mainland chinese are super welcoming ESPECIALLY the elderly :)
