We think we are going to be an exception to whats going on around us and choose to not pay attention to the real. The main mistake most men do, both white and black men, is being to hasty and desperate. Specially when they feel desperate to be loved. Patience is the key. There is in reality no difference between blacks and whites when it comes to this. I lived in the Philippines for 8 months some years ago and I saw it time after time where desperate men of all colors from all sorts of countries, started to look for women the moment they left the airport. Even some trying to hit on girls in the airport.... Often they expected the Filipina to have sex with them at first, second or third date and if that happened, they were stupid enough to think that this was a keeper. 99% of all Filipina keepers would not even consider to do that, unless she is at least 30+ and usually have a kid or 3. Men need to learn a lot about the dating traditions most serious Filipinas that will become good wives/girlfriends follow, if they want to find a future wife/serious girlfriend. Serious men looking for serious love in the Philippines need to be patient and take their time and not jump on the first good looking Filipina that smiles to them.
As a black man, one of the reasons we are scared to say no is because we think we wont get what we want, and this is true everywhere. This is not the west fellas, women get told no all the time and the world doesnt end and we still get what we want. I had to learn this in the Dominican republic, and a Dominican man told me.
Shhhiiidt I'll tell em NO in a minute. The last 2 women who had the position were my Mom and Grandmother who are gone now. A female gotta get in where she fit in with me.
In my opinion, this is probably the best video you've made. A phillipina told a friend of mine that he should feel lucky to have her because she was a Phillipina and he was black. He dumped her! Calvin is right, many of these women think that we are desperate and will do anything for them. Sadly, many times it's true.
When you pedalstalize other races of people, and they understand the racial hierarchy, they use that to their advantage. And black men don’t make it any better when they tell these women that they are better than black women. You can’t possibly think these people will have respect for you and you’re disrespecting the women from your own community.
Man , I’d have told her she was the lucky one. If a black man thinks a normal or desperate Filipina is their best option, they have more than a self-esteem problem…they have a problem with just being stupid. Keep your simple-minded, average, unattractive Filipinas like that bro, I been good on that
This was interesting. When I travel solo I tend to limit my interaction with Foreigners. I stick to the locals but watch from afar. It is back in the States that we talk about it and I did notice a pattern. 1. I do see the overcompensation. 2. I do see 9-5ers spending way too much only to return home and $truggle. 3. I do see and hear folks admitting to doing too much while abroad or sending money blindly. That internalized racial oppression complex has folks messed up home and abroad. Dr. Carter G Woodson touched on this in "The Miseducation of the Negro". Good thought piece, Calvin!
Seriously Calvin you're right since 2015 I barely spent considerable amount of money there but my ex met a brother who never met her and he already spent 10k on her and he's from west Africa keep in my mind she never asked him anything and she's always after me despite me never spent on her except her transportation or food I was appalled how some people would send money to a stranger she even invited me to stay at the apartment he's paying for that's crazy
@@calroach1 lol 😂 just yesterday he sent OMG and she keep telling me she does not live him it's truly pitiful how some guys will stoop so low for fake validation
I’m a black woman. This is a very heart felt message. You make me miss my grandfather, he passed last year October. I’ve tried to warn BM, got a lot of push back. Got made fun of; personal attacks. As a person who has been overseas several times, I’ve seen and I’ve experienced and I’ve heard. My warnings came from a place of care and concern. On another note, you nailed it. I strongly believe that most blk people experience low self esteem. You grow up in a world that constantly tells you that you’re dumb, you’re ugly, you’re lazy….those thoughts live rent free in the mind. When you have low self esteem you place more value on things, I.e. car, clothes, and shoes and you also tend to place more value on men and/or women or communities that do not reflect your own. This is all the symptoms of social conditioning aka white supremacy
Thanks, Big Bro'. That is REAL. Sometimes we don't realize how much we are damaged emotionally through our experiences over here in the States. . We've had 50 years of Oprah, Sally Jesse Raphael, and Rikki Lake trashing us on the shows and the internet has finally allowed us a voice. Stats prove all those negative sterotypes of us is a myth, but people don't care. So, yeah. We do believe we have something to prove and being gung ho to prove people wrong can work against us spectacularly. Black men more than any other racial group in America is raised to worship mom and women. We can be the biggest of simps sometimes. People who care will tell you the truth. The only reason it hurts is because we have a false sense of self that when contronted, shatters the image we had of ourselves. Pride is not our friend.
This is one of the most honest and insightful video dissertation I've seen from a black man in a loooooonnnngggg time. So much truth is spoken about the challenges and issues that black men are carrying and need to deal with. Well done sir. Your candour is truly acknowledged and appreciated. You are doing God's work.
I have been accused of being cheap or "not loving" by some of the women I dated overseas but I'm just making sure she doesn't see me as a meal ticket. It doesn't sit right with me when a girl asks me for a large sum of money when she would ask a local man for maybe 1/10th of that money. I just met you a week ago and you're asking me for the local man's two week salary. I know I don't have to put up with it because I can find another one in a minute. And she will more than likely give up the draws after the first date at a cafe lol.
Well said, my brother!! Yes, when we move overseas we are a bit overboard. A new beginning, a fresh start and we all learn our lessons. Thank you again, may God keep you and your family safe!
rule #1 in the philippines regardless of race is "set your boundaries early in all relationships" friends relatives and partners and stick to it . Saying NO lets them know they cant (or shouldnt) take advantage.. powerful message Sir
My man....real talk and I love it and appreciate you for taking the time showing love to those of us that don't know anything about living over sea. I haven't made my mind up yet, but thank you for your wisdom and sharing your knowledge of their culture. Thank you,
Your eyes say everything sir. There will always be people who take advantage of others' kindness and trust. These people have the same kind of problems all people have. They just have a candy shell of niceness and respect, it's disarming. I'm a big guy, I get treated a certain kind of way. I overcompensate for it sometimes to knock off the rough edges. I do a bit extra so people aren't so afraid. I put up with more shit than anyone should. I'm working on it, and thankfully it hasn't cost money. Just my heart and I'll put that back together again.
Your spot on Calvin. A lot of Black men have very little to no standards at all. We will get involve with women that other races of men wouldn't mess with. Keep preaching the truth bro.
This is an amazing video. Felt like you was talking to me personally. But watching your videos these last 2 yrs has been a blessing. I learned so much from you
Thanks Calvin. I have been watching you for 2 years now. This is the best video so far. I think the problem is deeper than that , nuanced and complex. We are the most marginalized , dehumanize group of people on this planet. We have zero ally or friends, everybody take advantage because we are not love one another, and bring each other down. The Arabs, East Asian, Europeans, all take advantage of us just because we do not understand that we are the first Man in this According to many social scientist, and Antrhropologist. We taught all races of people trade, physics, mathematics, agriculture for thousands of years. Until we start respect ourselves, no one else will respect us.
Good advise. This is why its good to find someone who bringssomething to thetable. There are women over there who are educated and looking for someone to partener with to build together.Nothing wrong with that. We forget we bring a lot of first world culture with us that they benefit from in their lives. We never ask the uestion from folks like you on the ground there. Why not take advantage of the free advice? Thanks for droping this!
I like what you said about getting with someone who can bring something to the table - someone with an education and a real job and able to invest (financially to some extent as you will also). It's all fine and good to say these girls bring so much loving and caring. But so are the foreign men bringing the loving and caring too. To put their hard-earned money into the pot along with yours is a REAL indicator she isn't going to take you to the cleaners.
Learned this the hard way in Kenya... However, like you stated, this was my first living abroad and next thing you know Im out tens of thousands of dollars. Lesson for sure learned. Definitely focusing on me and healing going forth. I appreciate the confirmation you provided in this video. These are wise words I hope BM heed before life teaches this lesson.
Very well said Calvin. And remember passport bros like he mentioned. Don't be fooled by the pretty eyes and smile. Keep your eyes open. Enjoy your time there.
Hey Calvin, #1 as you say is "having the royal flush. " A lot of the things you said apply to all men traveling overseas for the first time. Having spent 23 of the past 40 years overseas I see us BM of settling for less than we deserve. It is just like in the US I mostly see BM with some of the "not so good looking and under employed" women of another race. While the other races get the best looking and highest status BW. Must remember if a BM is overseas, he has something and must not settle for anything.
Hi Cal, you described me partially. Yes I am here, Lapu-lapu; alone, confused lonely and unsure. I arrived here in April. Lost money the first month. So-called landlords got me for all that first, last, security type crap and then split! Recovery from that was hard. That caused me to miss out on couple of Meet&Greets even the one in LAPULAPU. Anyway, ironically I caught is video. Had to respond. Your guidance helped me get here and landed pretty smoothly until I met those scammers looking for a place to live on UA-cam. Anyway I'll try calling you. If your number hasn't changed. I appreciate the help I'm receiving from you. Really so many of u guys. I'll call, just been diverted and distracted Rich.
I’ve been all over the world and seen what you’ve said for the reasons you’ve shared. I appreciate your entire message and hope others have heard what you said.
Black man look in the mirror and ask yourself the 4 questions. Are you overcompensating. Are you being hard-headed and not listening to advice. Are you afraid to say no, thinking you're going to lose out. Are you being desperate. These mindsets are not fully your fault. Much has been ingrained in us since slavery days. Take his advice and break the cycle. You are good enough.
I'll be boots on the ground in Cebu on the 28th Calvin. I'm going to be in country for at least 6 months and I have you to thank for everything. If not for me starting watching you about 3 years ago I would never have done this. I will be contacting you when I get settled in and I hope to meet up with you. I appreciate you Calvin. God bless my friend 🙏🏻✌🏻
Have figured out your accommodations yet, and will you be renting a place or staying in a hotel. Please let me know, because I am thinking of making a similar move soon!
What's good bother Cal, I agree with you 100%, a lot of brothers are being taken advantage of and we need to learn how to take advice and say no, if I feel something isn't right or don't like I say no in a heartbeat. Your never to old to learn and take advice and being aware is very very important here because they will test you to see how far they can go, I been living here for 12 years now and I had to learn and grow and that's how I became successful here, not everyone will reach that but for those who have we humbled ourselves and took advice good advice bro it helped me to live here stress free 99% of the time the 1% is petty stuff like traffic and sometimes how things move slow here but I'm getting use to it, but awesome topic brother and keep putting out useful gems. Peace ✌️
Thanx for the info Calvin, keep us posted! lately I've been missing your livestreams due to work. The last few weeks it's been very busy and I ended up being mandated to work more hours and days. I got some time now I'll catch up on your videos, don't want to miss out on good wisdom 👍🏿 keep em coming Calvin my brotha.
So when we said that men need game, strategy, knowledge of self, men need to believe in themselves, know how how to vet women, regardless of where you decide to travel…you know what never mind.
All important points there Brother. For anything to be meaningful the bottom line is correlative understanding of that meaning by the providing and receiving end.
The plight of the Black man is sad and my heart goes out you all, that some of you have to leave America trying to find love and peaceful women and then only to find it worse. The hardheadedness and stubborness is strong That's why it's so important to put GOD first and he will direct your path. I'm a Black women and I love my black man! God help us all!! GodBless!
Frank, I can appreciate your response. The truth of it all is your perception is your reality. I don't say that as a slight but more as some black insight. We as black men are not all what you see on BET. Even the hardest, coldest thug with an unlimited amount of credit on his "black card" will take care of business at home. The black man is always gonna take care of his family and his "ride or die" somehow there is a perception that we are strictly street and that is sad. Trust me, I got a master's degree in education but a phd in street cred. Point is, most people want to do what is perceived to be the right thing. And many brothas will truly overcompensate to debunk myths just like the one you articulated.
Most of the black men ive seen on youtube in the philipeans are of a mature age and seem to be confident people. But i would say regardless of skin colour there does seem to be an insecurity issue with many of the expats there. You all just gotta live your life from experience and apply yourself with a grounded confidence. Tommorrow is not a guarantee.
Brother Calvin, if you do not know who you are, you will fall for anything. You are correct, many African American men are starting to break away from the chains (mental) of the history of the Americas and what has been done to us intentionally. The renewing of the mind will take some time. And because you speak truth and give knowledge everyone does not always have ears to hear. And because of that they will eat the fruits of their actions. Experience can be a hard and costly lesson, but know doubt is the best teacher.
great topic cal, im a white dude and it happens to us too maybe not as much as the black men. At the end of the day were all human.i like the philippines cuz there is not much rasim there, im greek/american very tan. some call me a wet back in the states but not one person did that to me in the phils, thats why im coming to live there in cot, keep up the good info. i love the nitty gritty, peace to you
I'm blessed to be one of your newest subscribers. You opened up my eyes. I gotta lot to think about once I start traveling overseas for my 1st time in 2024. I better work on myself more before I travel, and to look closely at my flaws. This is a very powerful video, as well as the one on the 4Ms. Thank You, Mr. Calvin!
This is an old problem with the same components attached. I know, though repetition, that this would be the case. What must be understood, by us and others is that, we left for new horizons, was the same ole mind frame. I was suspicious of the welcome mat overseas. They ( Philips) had an idea of who they thought we were. An this will follow us wear ever we go.
You know Cal, speaking of or from the nitty/gritty. My experience has people see me for the first time they're guarded man, until I smile. Then, I see them open up pretty easily. Yes, every one wants to know which Black man am I. 😢
Simple advice. Travel to the Philippines and live together with the locals for a lengthy period before you even consider dating a Filipina. Learn how the people are, their traditions and culture by talking much with the locals and when I talk about the locals, I am not talking about all the great looking 18-22 year old Filipinas. Spending most of your time in bars and/or with others from your own country is a total waste of time. There are way to many sad love sick puppies hanging for hours and hours in the bars in the Philippines. Often drinking themselves brave enough to ask a bargirl to have sex with them for some dollars/pesos. By talking much with locals and learning about the people, you will also learn what types of Filipinas you should try to date and what Filipinas you should avoid. You will also learn a lot about how to date a serious Filipina that can become a great wife/GF for you. If you spend much time with the locals and you don't act like a jerk by trying to get every Filipina in the area into your bed, or think you are so amazing because you have money and come from a western country, there is a good chance they will like you. And if they get to know you and like you, there is a good chance that they will hook you up with the type of serious Filipina you are looking for. It can be their niece, the daughter of a coworker or something similar. And as a bare minimum will they at least give you some advice on what to look for, what to avoid and how to best meet and date the type of Filipina you are looking for. If you are looking for something great that will last you the rest of your life, you need to invest the time needed to get it and not rush into something that will most likely only result in tears for you. Be serious, honest, respectful and patient.
In my experience, we allow ourselves to be taken advantage of because there is this idea that we should help others whenever we can, without hesitation. Like you stated, we need to learn to say "No" sorry I can't and stick our decisions. Don't do anything that you will regret. Like I tell my filipina wife, "Regret it before you do and therefore you will not regret your decision."
I will admit your experience is better than mine , but I've seen over generosity in all races. Ive been married to a Filipina for 22 years and i set the tone from the beginning. I'm a black man who don't think that any woman is doing me a favor by by being with me. I lived in the Philippines for 1 year, but i do admit you have more experience than i do.
Good message Calvin, but I think 🤔 your message can apply to the entire spectrum of men globally. There are no shortages of videos online of men (many, but not all American) who have gone broke in the Philippines and other places as well.
I didn't see that when I was there in May. Black men were the minority there for sure. I wish people would speak to the fact that so many men there are from other Nationalities. Russians, Germans, Koreans, Chinese, Japenese, and so many from England and Australia. It was rare to see another balck man. I was happy to see a black man and spoke to each and every one of them. Not saying that your vlog today is untrue, I just wish that you would do the same for the other races. Because what I seen was alot of what ur talking about here by them. Great channel and content and it helped me in certain ways when I went to the Philippines.
@Paul Werdak I just seen the vast majority of brothers doing really well and the other races had way more issues than the brothers I seen and met. That's why I asked to make videos for the other Nationalities because I never see that, but content is made for ur core audience. I get it. Brothers are thriving in the Phillipines from my experience.
I'm in a better position than you to say what I'm saying. It's a wake up call I'm not bashing anyone. Heed the warning or ignore it. Thanks for watching. I'm not debating you or anyone else. This is my perspective.
This is a great observation bro, if we took all that money that’s wasted and did something together in these countries then we would be making progress but yeah we overcompensate and people don’t think we r intelligent
My wifes family lives san Carlos its really not a lot of black men there most old guys do this there its not just black. Older men are more desperate here in the Philippines in general they want young cat and do anything to get it even here in cebu where i live
Don’t do anything that you wouldn’t do in your country. Women are the same everywhere. You still have to be patient & monitor every situation & make sound decisions. Remember we are the prize not them. If it’s too good to be true then it probably is. As you said Calvin don’t lead with your wallet but your common sense & it will work.
Calvin let me ask and clarify. When i look at getting back from the meet & greet the last waterway i see is around 5pm. The gathering is at 3pm. Is the common people just stays there in ilo ilo or is there other means back to Bacolod that im nit aware of without rushing? I trying to decide if l should book hotel there or if there is a way back to bacolod later that evening.
Please don't use this vlog to bash Black men. This is not what my message is about. Thank you.
It is amazing that people will twist a message to reveal their ugly agendas..........nice video Calvin.

You can’t possibly think these people will have respect for you and you’re disrespecting the women from your own community.
Man , I’d have told her she was the lucky one. If a black man thinks a normal or desperate Filipina is their best option, they have more than a self-esteem problem…they have a problem with just being stupid. Keep your simple-minded, average, unattractive Filipinas like that bro, I been good on that
Gees, I plan on coming there, but I'm not gonna make no fool of myself. Thanks for the advice Calvin.
Your right ✅️ a Filipina lady told me that Filipino woman are saying now that black men are more nicer. Caught me off guard with that statement.
Total side note.. filming with that background is absolutely awesome. You made it Cal.
Thanks for sharing.
I'm trying to help guys avoid being victims but many are in denial. It's not just money but heartache and hardache 😂
Wow that's profound. Thanks for sharing.
@@calroach1 thanks to the video; thanks for providing guidance to our young men. Much ❤️
Thanks, Big Bro'.
That's all a mind game. Don't listen to that
Dam not at the cafe.😂
Good video my brutha, very educational and sound advice to our hard-headed passport bruthas out there 😎 ✊🏾
Well said, my brother!! Yes, when we move overseas we are a bit overboard. A new beginning, a fresh start and we all learn our lessons. Thank you again, may God keep you and your family safe!
Yes indeed!
rule #1 in the philippines regardless of race is "set your boundaries early in all relationships" friends relatives and partners and stick to it . Saying NO lets them know they cant (or shouldnt) take advantage.. powerful message Sir
Thats the rule EVERYWHERE. Especially in Amerikkka.
You're speaking 100% facts my man.
Getting outside of your comfort zone is much needed medicine for many Men. 🏖️
Thanks for your honesty.
@@calroach1You're welcome, I hope to meet you one day and shake your hand.
Your spot on Calvin. A lot of Black men have very little to no standards at all. We will get involve with women that other races of men wouldn't mess with. Keep preaching the truth bro.
Sir, these last 10 or so videos have been on 🔥. Keep up the good work.
This is an amazing video. Felt like you was talking to me personally. But watching your videos these last 2 yrs has been a blessing. I learned so much from you
Thanks for sharing Calvin! You walk through that content with a great intellectual poise my friend!
Good morning Brother,,,,awesome content. Soaking it up
Thanks Calvin.
A BRILLIANT, POWERFUL, DEEP MESSAGE. RIGHT ON, BROTHA! WE THANK YOU. ✊️🎯
Let go of always trying to get validation from others!
Yes I agree they trying to hard way to hard becoming victims.
You covered this difficult topic well. Thank you.
Can you do me a favor and let me know what is meant by this term having the Royal Flush? I was dumbfounded when I heard him say it!
It is the best hand in a game of cards
@@johnsonjohan7 Thanks for that info! I never was much of a card player....so I guess that's why it went right over my head, LOL!!
Thanks for looking out for the brothers. We need to hear both sides of the truth.
Welcome to my channel and thanks for your support.
Thank you brother. My hope is that we can meet up for more advice when I come over. Much appreciated 🙏🏾
True true true brother keep speaking on what's right great job keep up the good work 👌👍
I’ve been all over the world and seen what you’ve said for the reasons you’ve shared. I appreciate your entire message and hope others have heard what you said.
We appreciate you Calvin...
Thank you. I appreciate you back. Real talk.

Another great video Cal, thank you for continuing supply quality content !
Peace ✌️
Saying No is not something we are supposed to do according to our western culture. Thanks for reminding all of us Men.

@@coachjtrillog What's up my brother! True, we landed the right Channel
I wish BM didn't have to go to other countries; but I wouldn't blame them.
GodBless!
I'm really surprised to hear this. I always thought black men were smarter than this. They have all that street cred. What the hell is going on? 🤨
Not all of us are from the streets. It's not just us being taken advantage of but a disproportionate number are us
Frank, I can appreciate your response.
Brother I'm in a different position than many travellers here in that men tell me their stories. A brother gave a Filipina 20 million pesos!!!
@@calroach1wow! WTH possess him to do that?
Great question.
Thank you Cavin your telling the truth hell we still do that here I the west.
Calvin if every decided to visit there. I would love to meet you, and you be my coach.
Enjoyed as always Calvin !
Calvin is right. I see many brothers settling why??? I not going thousand of miles away to settle for just any woman overseas.
To win in life.. it requires COMMON SENSE… and if you thought traveling and conversion rates would change your circumstances… you were set to fail
Thanks for this video
great video pops
Brother Calvin, if you do not know who you are, you will fall for anything.
You are correct, many African American men are starting to break away from the chains (mental) of the history of the Americas and what has been done to us intentionally.
The renewing of the mind will take some time. And because you speak truth and give knowledge everyone does not always have ears to hear. And because of that they will eat the fruits of their actions.
Experience can be a hard and costly lesson, but know doubt is the best teacher.
Couldn't agree more! Thanks Calvin.
Real truth again. Thanks man!
great topic cal, im a white dude and it happens to us too maybe not as much as the black men.
Calvin!
Welcome to my channel and thanks for your support. You'll be fine and have a great time .
Wise words, Calvin.
Makes great sense Brother Cal!
good job, calvin
Respect Cal. Great message👊🏾
Excellent message
I'm not picking on Black men brother. I'm saying we are essentially playing ourselves and I gave my reasons. It does happen to all races.
When did you live here?
Good message Calvin, but I think 🤔 your message can apply to the entire spectrum of men globally. There are no shortages of videos online of men (many, but not all American) who have gone broke in the Philippines and other places as well.
It does but I said disproportionate number of Black men.
@The Irish Whiskey I had a great time in Manila. Didn't see that many out there but I did meet a couple.
I'm in a better position than you to say what I'm saying. It's a wake up call I'm not bashing anyone. Heed the warning or ignore it. Thanks for watching. I'm not debating you or anyone else. This is my perspective.
@@semien24 Right... this specific content is for a specific audience.

This is a great observation bro, if we took all that money that’s wasted and did something together in these countries then we would be making progress but yeah we overcompensate and people don’t think we r intelligent
great advice as always!
