- After the partnership ended with Chip Ganassi Racing, Cadillac faces a tough choice to decide which team is qualified to bring their LMDh project to glory in the WEC and Le Mans from 2025 onward. Cadillac has many teams to pick from, and in this video I will breakdown 5 of the heavily rumored options that could be on the American car manufacturer's radar.

Regardless of which team gets the v series r, it's always a treat to see more Cadillacs on the grid
Hear*
absolutely👍cadillac is statue symbol and king of the luxury brands
!00%!! I'm a Aston Martin fan, but GM is in my heart as well and more Caddys is what we want.
@@halilreissedyeci1956i also love the Cadillac logo like the Andretti and Bentley logo.
@@tippersimracing6070Totally , and with the rumours that Aston Martin will be making an appearance with the Valkyrie in later seasons. This makes things even more interesting
I mean it’s gotta be Andretti. especially for them to get more experience with cadillac engines since their going to play together in F1z
ANDRETTI !!!!!! They're teaming for F1, would make a perfect match for world wide Hypercar WEC.
Chip Ganassi is by no means bad team, 2023 Le Mans 3rd and over all quite solid results with just 1 Cadillac in WEC. And the car itself is no push back in WEC either, especially come 2025 with 2 cars....
Likely they like do Imsa mustang effort like they do for Ford GT GTE pro
I agree! It was sad to hear that the relationship between CGR and Cadillac would end, but hopefully Chip Ganassi Racing will find a new manufacturer to partner with.
@@FormulaJonahmaybe Dodge, huh? They've ran Dodges in NASCAR before and they can use this experience to help each other
If I was to choose I'd choose Hertz Team Jota for the works Cadillac. On a side note, I love the look of those GT3 Corvettes.
I agree, somehow it feels right and sounds correct that Hertz Team Jota & Cadillac in WEC, I hope this come to reality which would be awesome and a great looking V Series R
I agree with you
Always thanks for giving me insights with your contents. I would like to propose you some topics. (You don't have to cover it if you want to. I don't want to force you.)
1. available strategies(tyre, fuel, Driver swap)
Ive been watched F1 before watching Endurance racings. Compared to F1, Endurance racings have longer running time, refueling system, and various drivers.
How the strategies differ from those of F1?
Which driver will be deployed in what situation?
Are the strategy making styles differs from each team? If so, what are the differences?
2. How to analyze BoP(both classes)
Can I accept the written specs directly?
When it comes to BoP on Imola, Cadillac was completely superior than Ferrari, had more power, available stint energies and lighter weight. But actual race pace was not beyond the Ferraris. I think there maybe some insights or secrets of analyzing BoPs beyond the paper specs, and If so, I wanna listen to yours.
- Is there any Endurance race not the higher class got overall victory?
- How do you think of the future of Endurance, especially on commercial viability? Will it get hyped as F1?
Wildcard option: Trackhouse. While being kinda new and only competing in MotoGP outside of NASCAR, they might also seem like a potential team that can run Cadillac V-Series-R's in the near future (given the fact that they're running Chevys in NASCAR)
Must be Andretti, would love to see a switch between Ganassi and Andretti, Ganassi with Acura would be great I’d love to see them run in both GTD Pro and GTP, and Andretti with a V-Series R with the current driver lineup they have could do some amazing things
Shouldn’t count out WTR and Andretti just yet. Some early silly season news going around that possibly WTRA might be switching back to Cadillac for next year in IMSA. With the possibility of Myer Shank coming back to run for Acura again. Which of WTRA does switch back to Cadillac it could help Andretti get on the grid in WEC. Could have it be Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti in IMSA and be Andretti Autosport with WTR and Cadillac Racing in WEC. And possibly help Cadillac get a second entries in Hypercar should the ACO and WEC go ahead with the 2 cars per manufacturer Dilemma.
Tf sport I think will be the team to run the Cadillac in 2025
Great work as always sir. I think it will probably be Jota. The reason is if the FIA WEC require to manufactures to run two cars Jota could be on the outside looking in. If Jota and Cadillac join up with two cars Jota would not need to worry about the rule change. If Jota don't take the Cadillac it will be TF Sport running them.
I agree! Hertz Team Jota has a shot and so does TF Sport. Thanks for watching, and glad you enjoyed the video!
7:07 manufacturers in different racing leagues have run with different teams in the same car before. WTR doesn't participate in the WEC, nor do I think they have any interest in doing so, so it's likely that a different team would run the Acura entries in the WEC anyway. It happens all the time in motorsport. For example, as you stated already, TF Sport runs the Corvette entries in the WEC, but in IMSA, they're run by Pratt Miller Motorsport. There's also the Ford Mustang; run by Proton Competition in the WEC but by Multimatic Motorsports in IMSA, despite the fact that Proton Competition are racing in IMSA. In IMSA, McLaren races with Pfaff Motorsport, but United Autosport in IMSA. So on
I think wrt would the Best option
@@airton445you mean WTR? because WRT is a completely different team already contracted by BMW
Love the content mate
Thank you! I really appreciate hearing that!
All 5 hypothesis are very interesting, Jota hypothesis, could solve the problem of the space in the grid.
Cadillac would want a European racing team to field their WEC cars I think. If the ACO is involved, I would think they would lean towards TF Sport to ensure continuity on the grid. I would love Jota to get them though. They are the best team out there. Gold, screaming V series cars...would be good to see on the TV.
Would you make a video about some of prominent figure on endurance racing? Like driver or other roles? Like Romain Dumas, at first i thought he was only veterans, but damn his resume is legendary. Record holder, Pikes Peak, Le Mans 24h Spa, and Nurburgring winner
If we're being realistic, the ones that make the absolute most sense would be TF Sport and Hertz Team JOTA. TF Sport already has connections with GM as u said because of the factory Corvette entries in the WEC, so having a Hypercar program would be something they would have to consider as well. JOTA has ran in Hypercar before and is the only one on this list (other than Andretti) with Hypercar/LMDH experience. They could also compete in the Manufacturers championship as you said if they were to run the entries so it's definitely something they should think about. Now Andretti could do this as Cadillac and Andretti have had connections before in the DPI days of IMSA. Yes there's gonna be a lil bit of an issue with their relationship with Honda, but you have to choose whether you want to go to Le Mans while the chance is sitting right there, or wait for Honda (who's prioritizing F1 in 2026 rn) to make the decision for you.
Good points here!
Actually, full works entries aren't allowed in the LMGT3 category of WEC. I.e.: Team WRT and Vista AF Corse-both are competing in Hypercar category as "BMW M Team WRT" and "Ferrari AF Corse" respectively (the latter has a 3rd Hypercar that runs under "Richard Mille AF Corse" banner which means that it's not a works entry, a works supported satelite/privateer entry). And all LMGT3 teams ARE works supported satelite/privateer entries.
@@FormulaJonahHey this coy can you keep me updated on Cadillac in IMSA and WEC please I route for Cadillac In IMSA and WEC Racing please
Hopefully it will be happen
I think Andretti Global WTR runs Cadillac if not next year in 2026. This is from F1 relationship. Then Ganassi takes over the Acura entry and gets blessing to run as Honda at Le Mans since they have ran Honda indycars for years
What do people think Ganassi might do next year, if anything, in the WEC and IMSA Championships?
They might prioritize their Indycar efforts once the year is over. Same thing was done when MSR left Acura for its Indycar efforts. You can also consider their NASCAR entries as well, but definitely don't count out a comeback to IMSA in the form of a potential customer for the ZO6 GT3. R once Corvette goes officially global next year. That is most certainly another option to consider
As a previous comment pointed out, they could focus on their IndyCar efforts. However, if they were to continue in endurance racing, I think they could partner with a manufacturer like Acura / Honda to run entries in WEC, and potentially IMSA if the the recent rumors become true and WTR returns to Cadillac
@@hypezzyyCGR doesn't have a NASCAR team anymore (it was sold to Trackhouse Racing in 2021)
@@AnarRamazanov-po5leOh yeah I forgot about that lol thanks for the info 👍
cadillac👑
What about Joost?
They run the Glinckenhaus entry’s in WEC and they were very successful with Audi back in the LMP1 days
It feels like Hertz Team Jota and Andretti are the two teams most likely to run with Cadillac. The other three really feel like a stretch.
I really hope Andretti competing in F1 really soon. Maybe in 2030?
I think andretti would be the obvious choice.
Jota would be perfect. Proton would probably buy one or 2 Porsches from them. In the end, we might lose one Porsche in the Grid and gain a Cadillac. However, with the second Lambo, Isotta, the 2 Aston Martins, and even the third Toyota, the only thing missing is Honda.
Can you make a video about Adrian Newey working on a Red Bull Hypercar? and how can Red Bull get an entry in WEC or IMSA? Will Red Bull run an AM Valkyrie? since Aston Martin will be joining next year (2025) and it is an Adrian Newey designed Hypercar 🤔
RBcan't compete at IMSA due to not being a manufacturer of selling 2500+ cars per year in US
but some possibilities in WEC as there's no such rule, but still strictly obey the homologation and made tons of restrictions, which redbull would rather find a silver bullet solution(AKA find a customer team and customer car with drivers supply by themselves) than redesigning its RB17 just for that
Tell you a gold liveried jots Cadillac will be sice
Wtr/andretti cadillac wec/imsa
Andretti/ cadillac f1
Andretti/ chev indy
Chip gasini/ alpine wec/imsa
Msr/jota for acura imsa/wec
How about action express racing in wec with a Cadillac?
trackhouse prolly
I hope Hendricks Motorsports gets in WEC with Cadillac.
That would be cool!
Kyle Larson and Chase Elliot would be perfect for a one off at Le Mans!
I hope Andretti Austosport gets in WEC with Cadillac.
I’m wondering what CGR is up to. Ferrari 499?
Hopefully 2 Porsche fewer next year
What about Meyer Shank Racing? They have GTP/hypercar experience, are an American company, have been successful in IMSA and don’t run any sports cars this year but have said they are looking to get back into sports car racing.
Could joest not run them
WTR Andretti are switching to Cadillac while MSR returns as the Acura factory team next year
Definitely would be interesting to see it happen! As of right now it’s just a rumor, but hopefully we get further updates on if it will happen throughout the year
United all the way!
That would be great!
How about last year Le Mans winner in LMP2?
The only problem with JOTA and GM getting together is that Hertz is aligned with Ford in the US. Could there be an exception? I would think so but it will be interesting to see who that would work out. Andretti is the more obvious choice since they are partnering with GM on the F1 project.
2:20 but isnt Hertz also partly owned by Ford? GM’s competitor
United is on ELMS(european le mans series) too
Indeed! They have quite the experience in LMP2 racing throughout 3 different series. They would be good candidates for the Cadillac team.
Honestly, even though they're in IMSA. It should be Action Express Racing, they have best success with Cadillac and they're 5x IMSA championships. Why not have in the WEC to compete for the championship
SMP raycing 🤔🤔
Don't you think Action Express will attempt to enter WEC with Cadillac? And can you let me know why?
I believe Action Express Racing wants to focus on IMSA only. From my understanding they don’t have the resources to run a WEC and IMSA program simultaneously at least for now.
Oh thank you for your explanation!! I'll bet on Jota because they would want to be better in championship(especially in Le Mans) by being the 'factory' team of Cadillac. It is hard to be beyond the factory(Penske) as a customer.
No problem, always happy to answer! I agree with you as well!
Hertz Jota Sport 2025
Andretti
I see Vector more with Vanwall. United in a future McLaren LMDh, Andretti in the end neither F1 nor WEC........ TF Sport, has enough with the Corvette GT3.....
No way Jota gives up their Porsches. I think United is the one.
That's what I was thinking. I think it's going to be TF Sport or United
I was thinking TF Sport. Pretty crazy they picked up Corvette. Makes sense they double down on GM factory with Caddy.
You have forgotten JoestRacing
At the moment, as far as I’m aware Joest Racing isn’t a contender to run the Cadillac cars. Would love to see it happen though!
Action Express can ran them
my money on JOTA
I wouldn't count on Hertz being on any car next year the way they are bleeding $$ over their EV disaster.
Nope Hertz was Royal for porches brand they always porches royalties
