"GIF" stands for "graphic interchange format"...being that the "g" component in the acronym is a hard "g" (and not a "j" sound) to me that's pretty definitive in the gif vs. jif debate - otherwise it would be more like "giraffe interchange format"
Steve Wilhite, the inventor of "gif" said it should be pronounced jif. Not sure why, but yeah, perhaps for originality (?).
What about Regex? Most people pronounce that with the J sound, but stands for Regular Expressions
@@SteveAnthonyart my counter to that would be that in that case it sounds like they were going for a specific play on words ("rejects") . just playing devil's advocate more than anything though because someone else already pointed out that apparently "gif" WAS intended as "jif"

Question: Do you guys have a tutorial on how to add motion tracking images over objects in videos?, Done on a mobile video editing app?

Thank you for the tutorial. As far as I understand it GIFY offers the service to accumulate gifs on their page. So my creation will always be shared with everyone? Can I also use the tool and not publish it? I don't want to use GIFs of others and I don't want others to use mine either.. I want to preserve some originality... :)
If you make a Giphy account or login with another account lilke Facebook, you can set your GIFs to public or private when you create them.
Thank you for the answer and the help! I found out that I can create a GIF with FinalCut Pro X with the use of a little helper program called "Drop to GIF". This way I keep my files private on my local disc! Thank you! :)

Justin , can we use the premade gifs and use them on our videos ? I’ve used a few but I always put the reference in my videos.
I'm really not sure about the legal stuff with GIFS in videos.. We hardly ever use them. IT shouldn't be a problem, but always safer to own all the content where possible

The GIF file would need to be converted to a .mov file first.

Once i added my gif as embed it is clickable.And if you hover on the right there is a kinda pyramid appears and if you click on that or just on the gif, you will be sent to the giphy. I do not want that. I do not want the gif to be clickable and have any signs where it was made. Is it possible to remove it?I can't figure out how. And it is the only way to insert a video to Shopify as embed code. Please help as I am stuck :(.
