FIBRE - The many reasons it is crucial for your health

- Most of us think of fibre as only useful if you want to keep your bowels regular. But the right fibre has far more useful functions than just keeping us regular.
You may know that fibre is food for our gut microbiome. It processes different fibres into substances that improve metabolism, improve memory, improve immunity, reduce inflammation, prevent leaky gut and many more benefits. To get all these benefits you need to consume the right fibres. I discuss these details in this video.

Can I tell you all that consulting Iggy was the best thing I have done for my gut ( and overall health). After a bout of what was presumably giardiasis or the like, and medication from GP then specialist to try to eradicate it, my gut was not much better ( diarrhoea, painful abdominal distension etc) . Iggys assessment, diagnosis and treatment means my gut is now healed, micro biome better than it ever has been. I’m so very grateful, thanks Iggy

I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on insulin resistance and the idea that having the body run on keystone is better to combat against insulin resistance where as eating carbs, including complex carbs is said to be not great for the mitochondria. And that it’s said the brain functions best on keystones while carbs contribute to brain fog and cognitive issues.
I presume you mean ketones. This is a complex topic that I am unable to answer briefly. Brain fog occurs commonly from a microbiome that is unhealthy with a resulting leaky gut. Complex carb as such do not by themsleves contribute to brain fog.
