This was so lovely to see. This is where we went this summer so it was fantastic to watch your fantastic footage and learn more about the island. Loved it 🍻
Thanks for that interesting fact! Just looked it up and according to the National Trust for Jersey “The first record of the pond dates back to 1309. From then up until World War II it was used by the Seigneur of St. Ouen to stock fish, such as carp, and the surrounding land was used as a hunting ground.”
@@AdventuresinJersey Please don't credit it by calling it a fact. Facts, by definition, are true, but @jeanlongsden's claim is pure fiction. The Germans did create anti-tank ditches to the north and south of the pond, I believe, but the pond is marked on pre-war OS maps, so whilst it would have obstructed tanks, is it neither German nor an anti-tank ditch.
@@ianm452 Google the word "repurposed". also look at the maps to see how it was expanded. it is even marked out on the German maps as an anti-tank ditch. it is always good to research stuff, so you don't end up looking a tit like you have.
Would be great to have a separate video on each beach and what each beach offers from the next!
Ooh Nikki, you read our minds! Watch this space… 😉

I am a wildlife photographer and like the idea of living in Jersey but was not sure if it would meet my needs. I think this answers that pretty well.
Omg this I love this Island Jersey I com to YOU soon
Wow Amazing ❤❤ I'm from Thailand. 🙏🙏
Yeah I think so
St Ouen's pond is actually a German WWII anti-tank ditch.

i've never heard that ?!
Really? So how do you explain that the pond is clearly marked on pre-war Ordnance Survey maps?

Are we just going to gloss-over the sand dunes? Lol 😝
Should we do a dedicated video for the dunes? What else should we cover?
