Thanks! Your video saved me $90 for a new heater.
Thanks Todd. I had to replace the ends of an extension cord and had no idea which colors went to which screw, with the black on the left gold screw. I also had to do the other side, the female adapter, and didn't realize at first that aside from the ground being in the same place, the black had to be on the opposite right side where the gold screw was instead of on the left like on the male plug end. So it's always Black to Gold, White to Silver. Live and learn. Again, for me your video was a huge help.
Took me an hour to find the right video and 10 minutes to learn something (had to go back because I thought missed something) thank you for keeping it simple
YOU ARE TRULY A SAVER! A COUPLE DAYS AGO MINES BROKE ON THE WASHING MACHINE, NOW I CAN FIX IT, WAS GOING TO TOSS IT ABD BUY A NEW ONE BUT I WATCHED THIS AND SAVED MY WASHER!, THANKS MAN.👑👑👑💜🤙
Thanks for watching, I am glad the video was helpful!
I just mimicked what you did on an SJWT 3C/16 extension cable w/ a missing ground prong. Perfect fit. Looking at how the wires are held, it's easy to see why one shouldn't yank the cord out of a receptacle by the cable instead of the plug.
Thanks! I wanted to do it myself and learn How stuff works, seeing it opened up like that gave me all the confidence I need to go forth and repair!!
Thanks for the straight forward video 😊 My daughter broke the ground plug for our washer so we’re going to replace it together
Great video. Very clear picture and lesson. Now I feel confident enough to do this myself. Thanks a bunch
Excellent video! Real cable, real plug, real person!
I had the same replacement adapter. Thankyou for the instructional video !
I would have liked to see you pull on it to see if cord is held securely by the strain relief clamping action.
Also, you can never get electrical connections tight enough with a Phillips screwdriver, that's why there is also a SLOT on the connection screws to give it more torque and hold the wires more securely.
Very good video, Todd. I just wish in the end, we could've gotten to see you plug the cord in, and watch the arcade machine power up.
What tool is that
Thank you Sir for the clear instructions
Thanks so much wasn’t sure what wires went to what, now thanks to you I know, thanks so much you helped me a lot.
Thanks! We have to change the plug on our golf cart charger because an idiot "handyman" came to fix our garage door and tried to move the golf cart when it was still plugged in. He didn't fix the garage door either. 😡
Glad to see Eddie Deezen has made a full recovery.
Thank you a great video to fix a broke 3 wire plug cord
Thank you for the clear instructional
Is this Leviton model compatible with a 11.5 amp plug? (120 Volt Vitamix grounding prong broke off) I’m a novice but handy and your video is easy to follow. From my Amazon search, looks like this will work as this model came up as well as another Leviton 125 v.
Thank you ,where can I buy that adopted , will it work on a elietical fire place plug ,one of the prongs broke off ???
Thanks for the Video! I got the same kind of plug and fixed my cord great video!
Thanks for watching, I am glad this video helped!
I just pulled my treadmill, That has been in storage for a couple of years, Out of storage for use. The 3 prongs on the power chord are still there including the grounding, none of them are loose. The grounding prong is fine. One of the two other prongs has a little rust and the other prong is fine. Is it Ok to plug into outlet or should I replace the entire end or will the rust on the 1 prong cause a problem.
If your cord is better like a 14/3 the wire won't fit well in one of these Leviton, they are better for 16/3. Forget a 12/3. The Leviton I got, they stopped color coding the screws.
Thank you really appreciate the video!
Very helpful!
What about strain relief?
Nicely done and thank you.
Thanks thought I had to buy a brand new vacuum cleaner didn't even know this stuff existed lol
Very informative!!!! 7:04
thank you very much very helpful
Thanks. My puppy chewed off the plug for my sauna heater. Great video but I'll still let my electrician fix it. Lol
Hi there , the process should be the same for the other end too .. right ?
Are there any extension cord ends that actually look good after they’re on your cord, like the factory ones?
What if there is not a ground wire? Also the wires are both black?
Please link the plug and model. Thanks.
Nice video, why are you wearing rubber gloves? Seems very awkward
Incase he gets electrocuted
I don't know why he's wearing gloves but what I do know is it's not to prevent electrical shock. Why would anyone do this with live current? When it's not necessary.

thanks for the video, just subscribed
Thanks for the great demo!
Youi have no link to the plue or model!
My dog chewed the power cord to my pellet grill ( no it wasn't plugged in) Now i can just replace the plug and it should work just fine
Thank you, Todd!
Thanks for watching, I am glad the video helped!

Thanks for watching, glad the video was helpful!
Thank you!
Thanks for watching, I appriciate it!
Bravo!
could this be the reason the steam cleaner is not warming up?
Thanks for watching, I'm not sure on that one, good luck and hope you get it repaired.
I am 18yo and my dad didnt fix my cooler after telling him repeatedly so I am watching this video thinking of trying it on my own I have no idea of anything what kind of plug should I buy to fix the old one or anything can this go completely wrong if I try to copy from this video? If it goes wrong will it cause harm to the cooler?
Yes it will short it out
Do you recommend wearing gloves?
Hi Ray, I wear gloves whenever I'm in the garage for the most part. The old cord end was filthy!!!
Thank you. I was curious if the oil for our skin affected the wire but I'll wear em cause it looks like a good practice🙂
Thanks again for watching and good luck on your repair.
🙂
Save yourself some time and aggravation and don’t buy this Leviton plug as this plug is a horrible design as it does not give any clearance for wrapping the wires around the screws and no direction. Poor design and this video is too general as some of the other commenters have pointed out.
