- The IMF has agreed to provide $3 billion in funding for Pakistan as the country seeks to recover from its economic crisis. This marks Pakistan's 23rd IMF program. Prominent economist Nadeem ul Haque explains the importance of the agreement and the way forward for Pakistan.

About The Centrum Media
The Centrum Media (TCM) has the credit of Pakistan’s first digital news operation specializing in visual storytelling. Being a premier online platform, TCM strives to enhance the online experience of the new generation, ranging from hard news to feature stories. TCM creates original content and curates simultaneously from multiple sources.
We will take you where the real stories happen but often go untold and unseen in the shortest possible time having more information. Unlike the traditional media, TCM aims at sharing diverse stories across multi-platforms aimed at the people who consume news through mobile and social stream. We take up the challenge in the digital arena to present the news in the most imaginative and innovative ways.
Your on-the-go lifestyle forces us to bring the news directly to your pocket devices.
Biggest problem is establishment they want dollars at any cost to support their lavish lifestyle.
I worked in Oxford Economics and was the only Pakistani there, most of my colleagues were from IMF, Bank of England, World Bank etc. Still my colleagues/Friends are now working in IMF and world bank. I was heading one of the technical team. But learn alot about countries economy etc. This guy is speaking the truth, but keep in mind industry economic is diffrent than theoretical economic.
I would suggest viewers to listen to Miftah Ismail’s podcasts and appearances in different universities. Two times finance minster explains in depth on the root-cause of the issue and how our policies are skewed towards elites.
Economy is a broader topic, I respect TCMs efforts in this regard but a much longer video with bunch of economists would probably be a better idea
Miftah bolta kuch or ha krta kuch ha is kisam ke bndo ko munafiq bolte ha
@@finalphantom6882 and how have you reached this conclusion?
@@adeilakram is waja se ke jb wo finance minister nhi huta to seminar podcast ma aese policies bata raha huta jo fruitful huti ha country ke liye lakin jb wo finance minister 2 bar lg gia phr un policies ko implement hi nhi kia
@@finalphantom6882 you’ll need to consider that as FM he doesn’t operate in isolation. You will need to understand that how much interference we face from Army. So, ager usay kaam krny diya jaye tou he makes one of the best FMs we currently have.
Also, consider that he literally saved pakistan from default. I understand if you don’t get it but we all are, in ways, shallow and root for popular politics
@@adeilakram sab bahane hute ha is trha to IK bhi kehta ha ke foj ne kaam nhi krne diya wrna wo best huta munafiq wo bhi tha ye bhi ha
Agr ye sach bolta to jb FM huta usi waqt ye bol deta muje falah bnda ya institution kaam nhi krne de rha
Jb mu se zeera nikal jata ha to yaad ata ha ye bhi krna tha wo bhi agr chalo first time benefit dedete ha ke isko pata nhi tha FM bnne ke baad kia huta ha to second time kiu bna jb ye khe rha huta ke iske hath ma kuch nhi or ab phr third time bnne ke liye kehta ha
Or kaha default se bachaya Pakistan still default ke risk pr ha Bloomberg ki reports ke mutabiq
Age ap bhi samjhdar ha jisne kaam krna huta ha wo bahane nhi bnata irrespective of problems

When borrowing for a short time is normal but when you have to sell or lease your country to repay loans there is a vicious circle and no way you can get out of it
100% true
India investment se nahi, apni educated awam ki wajha se tarakki kar raha hai..
Politics also matters. No prime minister has money in foreign accounts. That's the criteria
This is why people don't vote for Raul Gandhi bcoz his mother is Italian citizen.
@@banksterkid5930 kya bolna chah rahe ho bhai
All said and done, it’s the defense budget that is ripping the budget and starving the citizenry.
What is more important IMF loans or the markup on such loans??
That’s not the case. India is spending way more. Issue is interference in Politics by Military which is NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS
Our core issue is lack of education. Be it conventional or be it vocational.
Hum achay plumber ya electrician tk nahe bana rahay
Hamary kisaan ki output dekhein vs that of Indian kisaan
Illiteracy ki waja sy we are now facing labor export challenges in the hands of Bangladesh and India
@@adeilakram yes Indian defense expenditure is five times ours ( about 10% vs our 14% of total budget) but its economy is twenty times ( fifth largest economy in the world) and foreign reserve around 500 billion against our maximum twenty in the past ( currently it’s less than 4 billion ) India kicked out IMF in late nineties and even Bangladesh spends as much on education as is our apparent defense budget. Our priorities being gun & powder first, health & education least and bread & butter last.
@@khaliddurrani6432 agreed.
@@khaliddurrani6432 Pakistan defense budge is in pkr… what does that have to do with foreign loans
Unfortunately We are.Emergency State.
Well brief and adviced
The biggest hurdle is the government itself. Let the private sector run its course and sell/close the 213 SOEs.
Same who didnt pay taxes and shut their shutters?

no wonder this video doesn't have good reviews as he himself said we as nation are interested in politics and not economy. Very sad
