You’re right about what’s trending. And while I appreciated most of the styles, I draw the line at the mesh shoes. While I realize that they’re trending, I find them inelegant and distracting when paired with any outfit. I think they’re a flash in the pan and will be gone before we know it. I’m passing on that one.
Completely flat shoes are not an option for most women who have spent a lifetime in heels , ditto very flat loafers because the hamstrings have shortened . Completely flat shoes can be very uncomfortable - wish Diana addressed this - we do not all have big bank balances and a perfect figure with feet that can take these styles .
I now live in Rome so chunky soles and Birkenstocks are a must to protect my feet from the uneven cobblestone streets. I have beautiful ballet flats and non chunky loafers that I bought when I lived in NYC, but I learned the hard way (such as life threatening falls) that these are no longer possible, unless I go door to door in a car.:(.
I love staying on trend, but being at 49 I much prefer sandals with thicker, chunky soles as I find them more comfortable and shock-absorbing. I’m also 5’1” so and busty, so having a little chunky, platform sandal creates a balanced and proportionate look.
I love shoes and really can't be bothered with or afford whatever is trending. If it's comfortable, clean, weather and/or occasion appropriate and I like it's fine with me.
So beautiful choices! But I think you forgot my most comfortable Spring and Summer shoes, the ones I always end up with: Espadrilles and chunky heel Mary Janes. So many colors to choose from, so versatile and go with everything in my wardrobe! Saludos from Galicia, Spain ❤
I recently bought slingbacks from Stuart Weitzman and I am very happy. They have a block heel that allows me to walk in Oslo streets 🇳🇴 normally. I like thinner heels but it's not practical to go to work and have a walk in this city with those, so I found a solution. Great tips, and I love Goelia too. I love their neat stitches and great quality.
How lovely to see these new 17:52 styles, however, when one has problem feet the “out of style “ rounded and square toes shoes are the only ones that work.
Diana, I want to send a big thank you for your video (and others too). 90% of most videos show heels. Having worn stilettos for years (and loving them), but now being challenged with balance issues due to MS, having so many attractive options for flats has really opened up my eyes. I could see the shoes modeled with quite a few of my outfits! And I'll now have more confidence with my choices. 😊
Dear Diane, I struggle with showing my upper arms. I would love to wear no sleeve tops but don't feel comfortable. I have historically worn shrugs, mostly open weave, to help hide my upper arms but I am sure they would be considered a no - no in your design book. I love your style but many of the outfits are for a younger woman. Do you have any tips for women who don't feel comfortable exposing their upper arms, especially in the summer time when it's hot? thanks so much
I love watching your videos even if your style and advice are not suited for my lifestyle. I wish I could dress so sofisticated. However most of these shoes look lSpring or early Autumn options when you live in Madrid. I stick to sandals and lightweight cotton trainers in Summer! Also my shoes should made for walking a lot so I like thicker soles and less delicate straps But I love the video the same😂
A very average looking pair of shoes at that ! But, I do see the wisdom in keeping things classically plain without too many blingy bits on them - there goes my gold snaffle loafers I suppose ? 🫢😂
I work in Health Care, and most of these styles simply would not work in this kind of work... Many of the shoes, are not good enough for long working days, not to mention the cost of the shoes averaging $300.00 each! Not to mention not being practical, or for work that requires one to move quickly, and safely.
Great video Diana, this summer I am recovering from a foot fracture so managing swelling & rehabilitation is my "footwear" 😂 for the season. Next summee...
I bought a pair of finely woven mesh ballet flats in beige. I love them. I bought a pair of chunky sports sandels in beige and white. Great for sightseeing and city vactions. I do not wear chunky styles but these are modern and comfirtable. I will be keeping them. I love the raffia and woven shoes. I love your style and shoe choices.
I agree with many commentators below. So much of what this influencer recommends is very specific to her body type, frame, and lifestyle. Not for most women.
Thanks for the many great advices but why wedge sandals are not worth to buy? If you have ankles issues and don't want to suffer with stiletto heels (all the heel models in this video are stiletto), but you need to wear some heel for back problems, wedges are a great option. Guess that I will never be elegant and chic then, if I have to suffer with flat mules or stiletto...😊
I love your work, but admit I have never liked shoe videos (yours or others'). They are always pushing trends that often look bad to me from the start, but unfailingly look terrible a year later. You are slender, young and gorgeous, so although many of the shoes would not be my first choice, they look fine on you. Also, shoe styles do not suit everyone. The tiny, almost invisible strappy sandals you show are beautiful on you, but when you are 1m80, 80 kg and a size 42 shoe, they look ridiculous. I think a lot of your clothing ideas can translate well to different sizes (and ages), but i think a lot of people don't realise that different shoe styles do not necessarily match well with different body types. In addition, there is the whole matter of engineering, since so many of us have issues and can't wear a lot of these styles.
I have had problem feet since I was 25, and have worn custom orthotics since I was 40. I need a lot of cushioning underfoot, a lot of arch support, and I have a hard-to-fit foot with bunions and a narrow instep. It is a huge effort to find any non-sneaker shoe that is comfortable. I can barely wear a 4 cm kitten heel, cannot wear slingbacks nor pumps, etc. etc... I need to be more thankful for the rise of the sneaker in fashion!
I totally agree. My feet hurt looking at those totally flat thin strappy sandals. When I was a teenager and younger, maybe. But they are not good for your feet and give no support. It will lead to foot problems as you age. My shoes have to be comfortable, structured /tailored, and supportive. I am tall, have a high arch, and narrow feet. I know heels looks pretty but the highest I will go is kitten heels. Only found Vionic to have them but they aren't as comfortable as loafers or ballet flats. Can you please show us things for the real person. Not thin and perfect figure but older with a little bit of weight.
@@chelle7_myblueeyeddog I think people who have average feet, normal feet, the feet that the vast majority of shoes are designed for, really cannot understand what it's like to not be able to wear most shoes. Mesh ballet flats are such a hideous trend. Maybe in fashion but some of the out of style ballet flats are so much cuter. The other shoes I can get behind although when saying “invest” maybe careful when talking about high trend things.
They are awful . I’ve never found any really nice ballet flats tbh - a shoe that’s too flat is hard on the hamstrings when you’re used to wearing heels .

There's nothing to understand about this. It's just for pictures or videos but never ever for real life. Just like many other things shown in many fashion videos. 🙄
I personally am not a fan of mixing “different shades of white and cream” together in one outfit. It really depends on the individual pieces being put together, imo.
The whole video is self conflicted. She mentioned Comfort as one of the reasons. The shoes she recommended have no arch support and not practical. Beauty and comfort usually don’t mesh for shoes.
Great video, but the ballet flats, will for me always be a child shoe... so sad the are in again and everyone tries to push them... but all to their own, that is style after all.. 😊 and after all several of the show in that category are just flats, not ballet flats, but seems like many types of flats are called "ballet flats"... 😊
Mesh shoes look cheap and blah! Pass it on disagree with chunky soles because the other flats don’t have support and i have bunion surgery and a repaired ankle with metal in it. Comfort and support are key. No all trends etc go for all people
None of these shoes provide support which will cause hamstring problems. How do you feel comfortable in these? Just get a pair of white tennis sneakers, white Arizona sling back Birkenstocks and black Crocs slippers with embellishments. That should cover most of the summer days.
Sorry. I have money and bought a pair of fun shoes on Temu. 15 $. I might wear them for three occasions and then give them to goodwill. Since I have great clothes, no one would expect these cost so little. 750 dollars. Really
No my God. Y love hills. I am not tall. I am old. I don’t understand the sneakers, the ballerinas. They are shoes for others activities. I don’t like loafers, I used for the school. This is horrendous.

The black satin pants look is great too. The vest always looks fabulous, but I don’t show my bare arms…. But you look sensational!
Maybe wear a t-shirt underneath? That can look nice, too.
I never liked loafers. I can't bring myself to by them.
Really
Also my doctor says only square toed shoes
Many of the pants are too long, looks sloppy,, get them altered!
That’s the style right now. I’m not a fan of it because I’m short, but I think Diana wears it well.
Where what you like
No my God. Y love hills. I am not tall. I am old. I don’t understand the sneakers, the ballerinas. They are shoes for others activities. I don’t like loafers, I used for the school. This is horrendous.
most of what you showed are not good for walking
I can't wear ANY shoes forever on repeat. Such thing just does not exist.
Shame on you🤮
Don't like nor agree with these suggestions. Maybe for 50-60's age range? Bleh
The best video, reminds me of my LYXBAG
