Great walk in this most beautiful part of London, which doesn’t feel like London at all. That’s a climb up Highgate W Hill, I was watching the girl ahead of you pushing her bike, and then the person standing talking blocking the pavement, I thought they must move!! I think the pavements are narrower around Hampstead and Highgate than anywhere else in London, more reminiscent of country towns.
Having only ever been to the touristy part of London, I really enjoyed this walk. Thank you. Could I possibly ask - as you're walking, would you be able to show some street signs so I can work.out where you are. Cheers😊
Hampstead Heath station is in South Hampstead (near the Royal Free Hospital) and this route takes you around the bottom of the Heath to Highgate. The northern route from Hampstead is also a good walk with great views of The City. I know the area well as I had a house in Highgate and friends in Hampstead.

i know hampstead quite well but not highgate. i feel like i could get home from hampstead as i'd go down to fitzjohn's avenue and end up near swiss cottage or kilburn but bloody hell, highgate feels miles away.
I'm just curious to see these specific sites : 47:17 is what we called ' corrindar', and 48:34 is what we called alley. What do you call them in Britain?
Brits seem to live Range Rovers. Why do you lock your bikes in those cage things? Neighborhood is a weird mix. One side looks like Harry Potters neighborhood and on the other side is all modern. 8:05- Metal window cover on left side The red brick housing looks a lot like the ones in Chicago. I like the houses with the driveways. 33:44-Fence on right
