So now I want to live in Hamstead! And why is it socially unacceptable to knock on doors and ask for a tour of these houses 😂 I want to see inside, I imagine they’re full of books, leather armchairs and old creaky floorboards 🥺
You can! Once a year there's an open house scheme where people literally open their houses to visitors! Usually these are owners of historic homes, interior decorators, architects who've done something clever with a tricky old home or gardeners who've created a magical oasis in a small back garden. Search for the website online and see if you need to register your interest/book tickets or a pass. I'm the exact same as you-- I bet you LOOOOOOVE it when people have their lights on and curtains open at night so you can walk past really slowly and enjoy their little curated domestic haven ;D. I love looking around people's houses, onilne and in person. Have you been to Denis Severs House? DEFINITELY book and go, really incredible. Then the Linley Sambourne house. A day of historic house snooping! Have fun!

It's literally been years since I last visited Hampstead, it looks like not much has changed. In winter, there was an enjoyable fun-fair on the Heath, not quite so mega as Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. Stunning and beautiful, that's not only Hampstead..😉 How was the BLT ? I live in Melbourne Australia, and I loved ,loved this one. I grew up here, ( Belsize park)- Did my nursing training at The Royal free and most weekends on the heath. Thank you so much , so many memories. I need to come and visit. . You should be remunerated by the tourist board for encouraging people to viisit London
I lived in that area for 3 months in I think 1976 in a rental flat/room in house on Greenaway Gardens. I was a student at the time and just loved the area.This brings back fond memories of Hampstead Heath.
I actually did a walking tour around Hampstead about 3 years ago (in a heatwave) and got lots of history and info on which celebs live/or used to live in which houses. I think we only paid about £10 each and it lasted two and a half hours, it was well worth it. Then we hit those cafes and browsed the shops before climbing up Parliament Hill.
Enjoyed the video very much. I can see why you love Hampstead so much . It is beautiful and full of interesting shops, buildings, homes and good things to eat. And a perfect way to end the afternoon with a picnic lunch.
You're so right, Hampstead doesn't feel like London at all (I feel the same about Richmond as well). So many nice streets to just take a walk, you can spend a whole day there. Add to that Hampstead Heath with the Kenwood House, the pergola and the Golders Hill Park nearby. You can definitely get away from the 'real' London there, and when the weather is great you won't want to go home at the end of the day.

Hampstead is absolutely beautiful and picturesque...was imagining living there and just taking it all in. I'm a History buff so these village style places are my cup of tea...so much character and serene lifestyle there. Reminds me a bit of Haworth, West Yorkshire such a lovely quaint village that I would love to retire to when I get on with age...so peaceful and a very friendly community. Hannah I do hope one day you're able to live in Hampstead and enjoy all that peaceful beauty. Your vlogs bring me so much joy and entertainment...so calming! 💖💞
