Even after hitting AQ and Naxx with gear that might outweigh the baseline stats of this shield, you can still hold on to this and swap it in and out in-combat (since it's a "weapon" slot item) for a free 5 secs of 50% magic dmg reduc on a 1 min CD. I wouldn't be surprised if they add similar items in the future for other tanks. Additionally, it'll be useful against the 4 Dragons of Nightmare since they have a Noxious Breath ability. Now if only Blizzard could hire the people who redid Sonic the Hedgehog's graphics...
I got the shield in one lockout, went 4/8 on Thursday got the disc, got the scale and went 8/8 on Sunday and finished the quest in Grim Batol after. Had to kill the dragon twice as the first kill was bugged.
You have to do it during the fight so you can bathe the scale in shadowflame afterwards. Hopefully as a ground placement like QS in ony or it's gonna be a bad time for non tank warriors.
@@Raavyx_i can confirm all you need to do is take shadowflame damage once with the scale in your bags, however it is still bugged so there is a 50/50 chance i cant skin nef tonight, wish me luck
I thought I completed the part after talking to grim batol but left before doing all the dialog. Can I go back in there without being attacked by the dragon kin? What happened ma if k abandon the quest ? I think it was bugged for be a couple days ago.
ngl ive been playing this game since 2006 and ive never used a macro outside of stance dancing. Never once have I ever needed a to type out light software to play this game, I never understood macros or why people use them Both retail and classic, my best average usually floats 70-80, so idk
Killed Nef last night, got the bug no trails =( as we were raiding for like 1 hour on release date and when in for clere sunday, so we killed on normal mode, you can't use the item on him on normal mode. spammed the living shit out of that item!!!!! my need he black trail or the quest is bugget.

The quest also asks you to bathe the scale in shadowflame. Might make sense to include that in your "how to get" guide? :)

Similar to the ony sword you just need to have Nel use his breath attack on you again after.

So what about the rest of the quest line? At 20% use the claw and then stand with the tanks. But what after that?

Definitely possible, but if you shield wall for that you cant shield wall the warrior class call, and that is likely a oneshot

Its still bugged but now it does not bug out every time, just sometimes, which I guess is even worse lmao
