Sometimes better is to choose larger space, not because car wouldn't park there but because if you park close to others, they may scratch your car because they don't have this feature
I have the same system in my Mercedes.... But in Italy we have 2 problems: 1) the parking area between two cars Is often very tight so that the park assist does not spot the area.... Second problems: the cars behind, comes very quickly and we have to do the maneuver very quickly. I use it just for fun
Have this feature in my 2019 c class and i can say it useless in high traffic streets in more dense city areas. Parking space has to be larger than it actually needs to be. You have to drive really slow in order to make.this thing work. In my case , in high traffic, traffic jam situations, still I am the one who has to park manually.
This is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Tbh I’m really really good at parking but I get nervous when spaces are a little smaller than what I would usually park in. Lol
i can only wish these beautiful car interiors were put in an elecric car and reliability wasnt an issue... it would open up to a huge section of the market
There is a reason you can have such astonishing interiors with an S Class or a Bentley etc.. Weight vs range. Which is the main issue of EVs.. You can think of EVs poor quality interiors for the price as a consequence of the battery costs and weight. But look at the CLS 53.. might be the right spot for you.
Will this asisstant watch out for the rims while parallel parking? Or do I have to adjust the mirror every time manually when I don't have the mirror package?
This looks like the AMG executive pack is that right? Do you recommend paying more for premium? Also which engine do you recommend for normal motorway driving
The premium pack is the intermediate and price / quality is the best one! If you normal motorway use I recommend the 180d I have one and it's good, it's not a super car but delivers, if you want more fun go for the a200
Hi, does this PARKTRONIC feature come as standard or with top-ups? Also, does your mirror automatically lowers to show your rear wheels or it is an optional package as well?
Thanks Jim, that's unfortunate, I tried this feature with Mercedes expert when he showed me main features with the car on collection day, we tried also this on their parking lot. Luckily you can use it now!
I was choosing between cars from the cars which were in stock at that moment, car wasn't ment for me but ended up with me. So I didn't spec this car, just picked from 10 cars from stock back in June 2018. Otherwise I'd get premium package
@@IvanSensei Thanks a lot for this answer. Wasnt unsure if its needed or not, or only a toy. We want to buy an used A-Class 177, but often they dont have this 360° cam. What also hard to find is the Multibeam, but i love it. Sure the C-Class has the better one, but not soo much, that its such a huge difference. Do you think the multibeam in your new A-Class is better than the LED you had before in the A-Class? And maybe one more question, can you tell me what is the thing you dont want to miss in your A-Class anymore and order in the new A-Class too?
would this work if for example there was no car behind you so there was a car in front and 2 spaces behind could the car still auto park or does it need a car in front and car behind?
Thanks for the demo. My 2018 S450 has this feature but it does not seem to be at all reliable. It misses most obvious spaces, even though they fit the criteria of having parked cars on either side. Today it actually identified a space where there wasn't one and proceeded to start self-parking maneuvers. It ended up lightly bumping another parked vehicle before I realized there wasn't even an available space and took over. I noticed your examples were both parallel parking whereas I was trying to back into spaced in a lot. There is either something wrong with my car or Mercedes should never have released this system.
Hi Ivan. I was wondering if this feature could be added into a vehicle at a later stage? Suppose I've purchased a 2019 A200 and decided after that i want it, would it be just a software update or hardware as in additional sensors which would need to be installed? Also, could it do alley docking parking as well?
I can't say, you need to ask your dealer. Alley do you mean perpendicular? Then yes. I'll do updated video Parktronic with more examples on my A220 soon
I have this too on my 2021 GLB200. It's horrible. The car always tries to park in spaces too small for the car and it can only find spaces between two othe objects, never behind or next to one other car. Don't use it unless you are very secure of what it is doing.
I recommend slow speed so you can stop whenever you choose specific parking space.. On the video I drove around 15kmh (9mph) and then slowed down to 10kmh (6mph)
@@IvanSensei I've been an advanced driving instructor for 30 years and consider myself expert at parking yet I love this new technology. It’s the way forward. Be aware! I used it a few times on my a-class ... until it literally destroyed one of the rims on the curb. I'm never gonna use this assistant ever again.
The only thing that worries me about parking assist is that yes, you can get in tight gaps but what if the people behind or in front of you are just really bad drivers?
Hi, nice useful vids. My a class is on the way with parktronic also. I have question about parking spots that are half on sidewalk half on the road, does it also work on those kinds of parking spaces, does it slow down when it has to go up the sidewalk or its not recomended to use on this spaces?
Never tried that. I think it depends how tall the sidewalk border is. If too high then you need to go on it at different angle. I would guess if sidewalk has smooth transition to the road then it could do it.
That's true but often people don't park parallel so they forgot how to do it. That's when this system comes in help. Also it's a comfort feature same as cruise control. You are using cruise control because it's more comfortable not because you can't brake or add throttle.
Easy, base setup is two 7 inch (small) displays. Then you can buy "multimedia display 10.25 inch (big), so you have 7 and 10.25 inch (I have this), and max option is both 10.25 inch
@@IvanSensei Oh okay. Thank you for your quick answer! Great video. I just bought an A35 and I'm looking forward to this parking feature. Congrats to A35! I tried it like 15 times and it always parked great! But some people from FB group said their car was sometimes too close to the curb. So watch your side mirror, which will tilt down so you can see the curb
Ivan Sensei I have used this system in my MINI, but on very narrow streets, it seems to ignore the opposite-side curb, and can hit it. It also says on the display that you need to watch your surroundings
Ok thanks :)
Does the car automaticly give gas or does it only steer in the parking spot?
