I am an Electrical Engineer but Mechanical Engineering is much broader depending on the university offering its programs. In my uni in Germany mechanical Engineers could easily made an graduate even in electronics or even specialising in antennas but an Electrical Engineer would need a complete undergraduate to go get an admission on mechanical engineering.

Ooh, I want to point out that class projects are heavily underrated.
I got a really good job by showcasing my class projects. Here are the reasons these are great.
    1. They actually use the advanced math and physics that you learn in your classes. Most engineers don’t retain these math skills that well.
    2. You get experience and a high GPA when you do well on them.
    3. You have an expert advisor in your professor.
    4. If it’s a group project, it shows you can work with people (or at least carry the project if needed).
    5. They are constrained to just a few months so you can do a bunch throughout your major.
    It’s a win-win. I do recommend you have 1 internship/research by the time you graduate though :)

Finite element analysis is used because equations end up be not closed (non analytical) form, so you need computer to solve the equations hence finite element analysis, think of infinite series in calculus , as you add more terms your approximation becomes more accurate.

    Fantastic video!
I’m a new mechanical engineer and I’m starting my masters in Electrical engineering because I love math.
I feel like mechanical engineering is so intuitive that the skills are much easier to pick up while electrical engineering definitely demands that you know some math. So the job security will probably be a lot stronger having both sets of skills.
Of course mechanical engineering can become a lot more complex, but as a new engineer, the stuff I’m working on just isn’t that hard. I want to do harder math 😅

As Electrical Engineer with experience in Power Generation, my humble opinion goes on the fact that none of both is the "Best" ,why?. Both are complimentary one with the other. The principles of Michael Faraday lead us to understand the generation of electricity but the mechanical principles of rotation induce us to search more in the field (as Engineers) so, we could find highly passionate and attractive the principles and theorems of , the transmission, torque, angular velocity, mechanical power, and more profound theorems highly interesting, aswell as the theory of turbines (that is a world of new discoverings) that is the newest technology, as the heat recovering systems for gas turbines.
In my opinion I'm not able to find one above the other, both are highly recommended to study and to apply.😊
And much better.... to investigate for new patents and new principles.

As an EE id say that the big difference between EE and ME really boils down to how your mind works. A lot of EE work requires you to keep things in your head at the same time that you have to jump between. Because of this I find that most EEs are able to do basic ME work while most ME really struggle with basic EE work. For example when i use to work on machine design I would often jump into Catia to design my own brackets for electrical hardware but if a mechanical redesign happened the ME's really striggles with updating the sequencing of the machine.
This isn't a knock agains ME, it's just a reality that EEs seem to always be expected to jump in and help all the other Engineering disiplines, which in terns gives them more opertunities to learn new skills.

This answer makes the most sense to me. I have done machining/tool and die for 9 years and while i am still figuring out which discipline i will study (need to take some physics courses to really gauge my interest), I think ideal degree for me is ECE because it is abstract and harder to learn/apply the concepts. The problem for me with ME is I am already very familliar with manufacturing processes which really makes it much less interesting. Also I have worked with ME's on prototyping things and most of their job seems to involve modeling a part/assembly and doing the checks/simulations/R&D to make sure the design is good before manufacturing starts. As the guy who makes the part I can tell you that it is very common for Mechanical Engineers to overtolerence things just to make sure that they work which is super annoying. This is not a knock on ME's out there, its just my experience with the few I've dealt with.

With all respect to you, Your Information about Mechanical engineering my friend is not accurate, Mechanical engineers they study for example thermodynamics which deals with things and imaginary systems that you can't see or touch and It needs more imagination than electromagnetism, also when you study fluid mechanics or dynamics, you study tons of an imaginary forces, moments and vectors that you don't see and you have to use a very high level of math(Calculus and Deferential Eq and theories), I knew you don't see electricity but you see the conductor(The wire) or the result (Pulps on), In mechanical engineering you don't see potential energy or torsion moment as well and you have to find out the direction the magnitude by your self, Mechanical engineering Drawing are the most completed in engineering world and require a huge 3d Imaginary skills, not to mention that mechanical engineers they study Electricity as well (circuits, Electronics, Electrical machines. and some universities they teach power electronics and mechatronics as well ), so it's very broad and versatile, so I highly recommend you to take course in thermodynamics, and after that take a course in heat transfer or mechanics of materials to have better understanding of Mechanical engineering
