    If you own one back in the 60s you really had something. And if you own one today you still really have something, what a great tractor its beauty and simplicity is a work of art. No electronic components to shut you down or nickel and dime you to death. No tractor company will ever build this quality tractor ever agin. Now days they spend more money on engineering something that can"t be worked on. Still one of the best looking tractors to this day they just are ageless.

      Thanks for the comment! Totally agree! Very well said! There are a lot of them still “earning their keep” today and will be in 20-30 years-can’t say that about most tractors made today!

    That is one sharp looking 4020. One of my all time favorite tractors. I would say that my favorite is the 6030.
    I have a 1970 John Deere 2520 that has spent almost it’s entire life on this farm. It can live out the rest of my days with me.
    In addition to the 2520, I have 2 - 1958 520 John Deere tractors. Both of them of been on this farm for well over 50 years.
    Thanks for sharing this. Enjoyed a full watch and gave it a thumbs up 👍🏻

      Thanks so much for the kind words. It’s so neat to hear stories about tractors and how much they mean to the families that have used them for so many years! Stories like that and owners like you that keep the hobby of tractor collecting alive and well!

    Something about the 4020 that I love probably because my father had one to run the farm. Thursday evenings he would wash it up and turn it up to pull at local tractor pulls. Many a trophies sit in a box in my parents basement of his wins through the 80s and 90s. What a great tractor. Fond memories of days gone by when I was just waist high. Appreciate the Weber Pulling Team family and friends for their appreciation of ol American traditions. God Bless yall.

      Awe, thank you! And, so cool…thanks for sharing! Many hours of family bonding and friend fellowship has been had with tractors and trucks from parades to pull tracks-think that’s why we love it so much ! 💚 💛

    I went with my Dad to our local John Deere dealer. The 4020’s were just coming out then. My Dad was talking with the owner. When I got the chance to break into the conversation, I asked the owner if he was going to be getting a 4020 in at this dealership any time soon. His answer to me was no. He said a tractor that big would never sell in our area.
    Within a very few short years, we were about the only farm around that didn’t have a 4020. The 2520 and my 1957 John Deere 720 diesel were out big main work horses. Now they aren’t even big enough to run a grain auger.

      @weberpullingteam  Місяць тому

      While I agree that all those changes would make it accurate, it is also the wrong 4020 decal. I wasn’t going for accuracy on this one. We were just going for what we liked aesthetically 😊

    Good looking 4020. My son and I own 2 4020's 1964 and 1971. My father bought the 71 new. Little over 7000 hours on it now with no internal engine repair ever being made bet that cant be said about other tractor makes.

    I live the 4020 tractors.!
    What's the reason for cranking the steering wheel back and forth while starting up the engine?
    This is a cool day start. Your still well above freezing temps.
    A cold start on my books is like -30, but I live in Canada eh.
    Beautiful tractor, I fully support the chrome pipe.
    I couldn't tell if it was a syncro or power shift. I'm a big fan of the syncro.

    • @weberpullingteam
      @weberpullingteam  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the comment. I was told cranking the wheel decreases some of the hydraulic pressure when cranking to help it crank easier-I wasn’t sure about the health of the battery. -30, ouch-no amount of steering wheel movement would allow this thing to start at -30 😂. It is in fact a syncro. Going to have some more 4020 content coming soon! 😊

      I was able to get my grandpas 3020. its the one thing I count on starting when it is cold. I've started it with no block heater and in unheated barn as cold as negative nine degrees, no problem turn over 4 or 5 times and fired right up.

    Got to have a muffler on a naturally aspirated 4020. They sound terrible. Not many things you could have bought new 50 years ago, used on the farm until today and then turn around and sell today for more than you paid for them new. These will still be running when a new tractor today is useless because the software to make it run is no longer supported.

    • @weberpullingteam
      @weberpullingteam  3 роки тому

      I have a muffler, but I really like the chrome pipe-the muffler will probably go on when we use it for farming though. Yes, gotta love old, mechanical, dependable farm iron!!

      Could you explain why the chrome pipe would hurt the motor? I’ve been thinking of a chrome stack for mine but don’t wanna hurt anything for looks

    • @weberpullingteam
      @weberpullingteam  Рік тому

      I’ve never really heard a good explanation other than not really having back pressure-we’ve had plenty of chrome pipes in the past and never really had an issue. My advice would be do what ya like and enjoy it 😊
