For what they are those little Yanmar powered tractors are powerhouse work horses. I'd say any form of CAT delete on a common rail fuel system like that little Yanmar ( I think its common rail) would be a no go for the ECM. I run a 56 HP TYM with the Kukje engine for that very reason. It runs a DPF, and while it does have a regen mode its not a big deal at all. It runs an injection pump and no ECM so I can easily mod it if I ever want to eliminate the DP filter. I'm like you on the HST, I run an 8 speed w/ reverser but I'd rather just have a standard transmission if they still made them. Getting hard to find a good tractor unless you go back past 2013 year models and those boys know what they have.

DPF/Regen systems are a terrible feature! Tractors, skid steers, anything you may want to operate at low rpm, always avoid any piece of equipment with this option.

Im going to say something here that’s more than likely going against the grain: why not just get yourself a older tractor that is easier to “manipulate” into being exactly what you want it to be/do? I’ve done stuff like that before for about 20-25yrs of my 1st years to legally drive a vehicle. Of course, that probably explains why I drove my International 1/2T 4X pickup for so long as I did as well. I COULD fix anything on it because (compared to anything “modern” at that time) it was much more along the lines of the famous KISS principal: Keep It Simple Stupid!
I really do/did like that truck, but it did suffer a few maladies that were addressed later on but better by a few of the other manufacturers out there. The biggest problem was body “cancer”: RUST! It’s terrible on most IH’s of the Scout/Pickup years which for the most part ran from the early 60’s through to 1980 for the very LAST year model of the Scout, while the very last year model for the pickup was 1975. Dad owned a 73 and I ended up with 5 total 74’s, a 64, and a 1600 Loadstar that was originally purchased by the USMC and went to Camp Pendleton.

@@RSDOutdoors That’s not making it “suck” less, not really. $1600 is quite a bit of coin to come up with for someone like myself. But it’s kind of like I told my buddy in regards to the way that I have to do these things for myself that I do, “a poor man’s got poor ways”. But as long as I get it done and don’t do any real damage to anyone and anything, I’m “usually” in good shape. Usually…oh well, there’s always tomorrow, I just don’t like to do vehicle repair like I tolerated when I was younger (18-25), but I DO miss those days because I was so much more physically fit. 290lbs and NOTHING stopped me from doing ANYTHING that I wanted to do, with the exception of the fact that I have a conscience and I don’t like to look over my shoulders! I don’t lie and I don’t steal. I can’t stand a thief. And telling the truth is easy because you live the truth so you never have to remember what you lied about. RSD, I’m not speaking about you, I’m just sayin that about society in general.
My soapbox is needing me to climb down now. I’ll “talk” to you more later, I’m sure 🫡😉

@@ToddAdams1234 There’s a whole lot there Todd for me to unmask but I completely understand $1600 sounds expensive because it is expensive however if the filter plugs and I’m not able to unplug it when we had to get one for the Skidder it was $7000 so 1600 doesn’t sound all that bad at this point

@@RSDOutdoors NOW I’m understanding that crazy price. WHEW, that’s STILL a considerable chunk of change though. Especially if it were my circumstances. BUT, that’s also (most likely even) why I don’t own something like that.
