im 82 and still love this concert. amazing.
That cello player is absolutely fantastic, she totally owns it on every single song
R.I.P Terry Hall. Just heard news of your death. You were a Unique talent, & your songs were a major part of my teenage years and beyond. The state of the World & the Political State of the UK currently are so reminiscent, horrifyingly so, of the exact times you sang in the 1980's & 1990's. So your songs & talent is heartbreakingly accurate! Where many of us are " My God we grew up with this & we have rewound again, & now Our Children are facing these Issues Hard Faced, Front & Centre! Several more Generations are Bruised!" I am genuinely heartbroken 💔 to hear of your Passing. You were a Central Figure of my Youth & later years. You gave us 63 Years. God Bless you for that Unbelievable Contribution 🙏. Love to all your friends and family x
I was born in the wrong country. The UK has and always will kick ass! What a great concert … love Terry to bits. FB3 were so cool.
Come for the music and stay for the weather!
Yes
I was there! Aged 17, a really big event for me as I was in love with Terry. Fab to see it again
Hello from Bingen/Rhein, Germany (if you are living in Hitchin you might know where my hometown is). I was in love with him, too 🙂
Will always love you, Terry. The news has broken my heart 💔🖤💔
I was there. R.I.P Terry Hall 😢❤️🙏🏼
Tunnel of love is one of the greatest pop songs of the 80s
voice of a generation, total class in everything Terry does.
and what a band in total
Fuck me this is a tight performance. I remember watching this back in 1983 when I was 12, I absolutely loved it then and love it even more now.
'Our Lips Are Sealed'. surely one of the greatest pop songs of the 80's? Awesome.
A go gos cover
@@AndiLancs Actually, it was co-written by Terry Hall and Go-Gos guitarist Jane Wiedlin (they were a couple for a while) so technically, not a cover, even though the ladies recorded it first.
No. Even by the crap standards of the decade it was just a mediocre song.
@@Mardocius In fact they were having an affair while on tour together when they were both in relationships, hence the title.
Great song.
How good is the drummer!? Solid and clean. And sings beautiful harmonies too! Awesome.
I agree. June Miles-Kingston is a very talented woman. I especially liked her work on The Communards - Don't Leave Me This Way, also have to mention Sarah Jane Morris who sang in that track. So many talented people from this era.
@@SuperRede4u the communards, a truly awful leftist band
June Miles Kingston
Anyone know who the cellist is?
@@ant2312 The Communards produced some great songs.

Thanks dude...From New York..
@@specialroy6087 You're welcome!!
Name girl drums, please, thank you
What I wouldn’t give to have seen them live! This concert is so amazing. Props to the FB3 backing band, June Kingston on drums and Gina Ball (of Marc and the Mambas) on cello! RIPower Terry Hall
Oh wie wundervoll. Dankeschön....
RIP Terry. Gave so much.
Devestated to hear of Terry Hall's passing! RIP
Brilliant. A very important artist of our time. RIP.
RIP Terry Hall an absolute legend, love to all his family ..... One of my alltime heroes..
RIP Terry. You were an ENORMOUS Talent and left your mark. Sorely missed.
Frighteningly original music, but so listenable. Hard to find a band today that says something meaningful with such uniquely courageous dedication. I was hooked when I was only 11. Yay for older brothers with good taste in music.
2022.12.23 R.I.P Terry. You lived through a lot and made a magnificent difference!!!! God Bless you and enjoy your journey into the welcome home!
I was there that night. Amazing memories R.I.P Terry
The things we do...what a song!!
I'm in love with the drummer....now I am 51, I just wake up in 2019, it's a little bit too late
June Miles Kingston. Both her drumming and singing are on point. I don't blame you. Very talented woman.
@@christophercasey6775 agreed, our lips are sealed is just beautiful, their voices, together, kinda haunting, blend together soonooo well. The girls voice is given more prominence as the song progresses. Her voice sounds beautiful and authentic and love the rawness of the song sang and played live. This song came out slightly just before my time (meaning, before I was into music) glad I heard it. Still sounds great today. Love it.

She also played drums for the Communards , June Miles - Kingston
Had this on vhs tape back in the 80s
Absolutely amazing, what a band.
great to see the more I see the less I believe done live
I remember when the FB3 albums came out. As a matter of fact I've always liked FB3 more than the Specials (hope I don't get shit storms for this). Sadly I never saw them play live (I saw The Specials play live). Whatever, Terry's gone, RIP Terry. You gave us so much food for thought.
Correction - It was UB40 who gave us Food for Thought ... just a couple of years or so earlier :-) :-) ;-)
Sigh! What a crush I had on June Miles-Kingston.
Hi i fucked be r
Superb.
Great band.. great music and words.. nice people.
Came to see FBT, stayed for Patricia Morrison on Cello... I'm a Sisters of Mercy addict. Also ahead of their time!
That is Caroline Lavelle on Cello here...
29:14 I love how the only time Terry smiles is when he mentions divorce 😂😂😂
Terry"s vocal is on the money - just like the record time after time
They are killing it. All of it is Great!!!!!!
OMG I remember this - absolutely brilliant.
I would have loved to be at this concert. It's a classic.
Them eyes!!!😍💗
Beautiful and Green
Terry is great here, doing the standard version of every song,
but it's great to see and hear:
every song is beautiful and challenging music!
Back when the youth had sub culture. Now they have Instagram!
You're literally using a form of social media to watch this.
@@leosteventon7732 and your point?
Talk about missing the point. Damn ...
@@dontanner232points, points , points
Annie whitehead on trombone. Sublime player but give me the specials anyday
Legend 😃
Absolutely amazing to see this footage of them playing live.
Terry Hall was a great live singer he had such a great voice R.I.P
Really really enjoyed this concert, thank you very much for putting it on youtube.
23:41 Our Lips are Sealed
The things I missed living in the States. I loved The Specials back in the early eighties, but I'd only heard a couple of FB3 tracks before a couple of years ago. Shame I missed out on most of this era of Hall, Golding and Staples. They were amazing!
Look at that crowd... or rather listen to how wonderfully SILENT they are. They're there to listen and watch the band, not a fucking karaoke session. No phones blocking views... Will we ever get gigs like this again? :(
No.
No, and we don't get SONGS like these too nowadays... sigh
It's been doing my nut how people pay £80 for a gig and then spend most of it talking crap to their friends.
They go nuts during Gangsters though!
So cute watching Bethan Peters at 35:45 mark.
I was there, front and centre. Had same mundane haircut as Terry!
LUCKY!!!!!
You're so lucky, wish that I was there what an amazing performance love everything that Terry Hall does!!
Terry Hall = Genious
Big thumbs up :-) saw them a few days later at The Leadmill Sheffield
Remember watching this when it first came out - such a memorable gig, thanks :)
Very good concert by Fun Boy Three
rip terry
❤
Cool very cool!!!!
June from Mo-Dettes on drums and Jules from Delta 5 on bass guitar.
awesome thanks for the post good find
Love it.
bowie belt's out "LET's DANCE" when terry gets his turn.
They had a third album in them … pity they didn’t make it.. what a great live band these people are… enjoying these vids
Excellent
Brill performance :-D
A tidy little gig and as tight as you like.
brilliant set, wow can see why they left specials with talent like this, I notice they slipped in gangsters at the end though ;) can't forget your roots and where you came from
my mates an me loved the fb3 but coming from n.ireland didnt have any chance to see them...😭
So great! FB3 were really creative and different. Terry, Lynval and Neville were amazing. And the all-girl band kicked ARSE, esp the drummer, cellist and trombone player. Who would have guessed how much a trombone could add to pop?!
Probably that's Annie Whitehead on trombone...I have a cool Robert Wyatt tribute concert on CD that she was the musical director of...
Amazing
I wonder if the audience were still Rude Boy, Skin and Mod ? as this is like Ska Revivals last stand as Bad Manners played at the Regal that year.
The transition from Summertime to Alibi ua-cam.com/video/HXQpuN45xTA/v-deo.html is sublime
SUMMERTIME is amazing
awsome
THX
I lived very near to Hitchen when this was happening. Too young to know or go... but damn....
Great upload tel ....❤
the regal is now my local GP Doctors surgery
Mine too. I never go there though.
@@barbaralynch1035 same here
Had some vestibular physiotherapy there not six months ago. Used to watch Children's Film Foundation films there in the seventies when it was still a cinema, in the summer Play Scheme the council ran.
What ever came of bassist Bethan Peters?
YES!!!!
Neville and Lynval seem to have lost their Jamaican accents after The Specials ! Ha!
Yes they sound quite posh here.
Early 80's best era for music. Started to desolve mid 80's with the introduction of the drum machine then everything sounded the same.
Loved the FB3. Shame they only did the two LPS. Thanx to the uploader!
👍🤩
damn who is that on cello?,never figured out her name...
Found her nvm
@@bluephalanx what is her name she is great
@@mancjeff2427 caroline lavell
Please can anyone tell me the name of the music playing at the start when the outside of the venue is showing? I'm sure it was the theme tune to something but cannot remember for the life of me what it was!
🤗💗
why the long face Terry?
Where was you into 1985
not a patch on the specials. Then again who is
Gutted!
sexy eyes...
what was that theme tune at the start please?
3 robins are nesting in that hair.
Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs. That's now my doctor's surgery. Interesting fact eh?
33:01 Gangster

I love this, but sorry to say, the female backing vocals weren't up to scratch, in my egotistical option! XX😜
Blimey, I'm so glad I didn't see them live!!!
as a Specials fan, seeing Terry going down this route was the worst thing ever, so glad he ditched this crap and got The Specials back together and I got to see them in 2011
you're deaf, friend
