Terry's vocals are exquisitely matched to Morrison's lyrics. All I can say is that there are not enough superlatives to describe just how good this is. R.I.P Terry Hall.
@@ScottishTeeVee So true, buddy - a nation mourns the loss of a special talent - no pun intended. Terry was a top class musician. Ghost Town spoke for so many of us living through those times - and now - this country's heading back to Work House days and Terry and the boys flagged it up brilliantly well. Keep up the great work, mate, bringing these media memories back to life. RIP Terry.
Terry looking a bit like Bunnymen's Ian McCulloch with the shades. I raised an eyebrow when I saw they were performing The End, but it's a cracking version. Thanks for the vid.
FB3 were a lot more creative and gifted than they got credit for. Intense. Terry Hall is truly amazing. Indelible vocals,, writing, compelling stage presence. Hard to name a more versatile artist.
I think the only reason FB3 didn't get the recognition is a lot of people heard those Bananarama collaborations and went "yuk, cheesepop" and never gave them another listen. Shame.
There is two songs I never liked , this one and Summertime by George Gershwin. Terry 's versions I absolutely adore , and I cannot stop listening since I found them . Thank you so much for the upload, this is pure magic ❤
@@ScottishTeeVee i too have hours upon hours of great vintage stuff from US tv and more. Got my first vcr in 1982!! Looking for someone to work on stuff. If anybody in the USA is interested. Message me.

Only Terry could take the piss out of Echo and The Bunnymen by looking like Ian McCullough and doing a Doors cover (a big influence on E&tB). R.I.P. Terry.
been doing a deep dive since the sad passing, hearing a Colourfield song that sounds just like Echo, and now listening to a 1985 radio show Terry did where he introduced The Cutter and says the Bunnymen are his favorite british group. Seems like the influence is sincere!
@@danselzer definitely sincere. It was around this time he started working with Bunnymen producer Ian Broudie. He also got Pete de Freitus in on drums on some of the Colour Field tracks. Around the time he split the Fun Boy Three up he was quoted saying something along the lines of he wanted to be in Echo and The Bunnymen. Cue his next shift in style, especially on Things Could Be Beautiful and its B side Frosty Mornings.
100% it is JMK. I was chatting with her on Facebook about the Complete FB3 box set I was helping Chrysalis with the week Terry died. She was massively cut up by it.

Wonderful video! ❤

That's one version that tops the original for me.. and I'm a Doors fan... but a bigger F.B.3. fan. R.I. P. Terry.
RIP Terry. Been listening to you for 40 years but never seen this side of ya. Brilliant
Loved Terry's music since I first heard Gangsters on Peely in the olden days, a great loss
RIP.... Nearly 40 years on ..our youth long gone in the blink of an eye!!

Rest in peace Terry.. You will be missed by so many 🎶✨
I lived in Coventry for a time during the eighties , the music scene was an amazing hot bed of talent .
Eternal music , Terry Hall .

I saw them at the Haçienda around this time and they burned the American flag on stage. Definitely no accident

@@IAMPLEDGE It all makes Sense ...
Heard them do it at Glastonbury in 1984. I'd dropped acid a couple of hours earlier....
Sounds like a good time to me
I remember missing this because, hey, it was only the Fun Boy Three lets go down the pub instead.
Same here, but thankfully the VCR was still recording
Still can't get my head around it that he is dead
Yep, it was a surprise, I kinda thought he would go on for many more years.
😢so sorry🥺
Sadly apropos... RIP Terry.
Better than the original! Great cover.
dont be silly now,,
Good cover but deluded in thinking you can better the doors on the end 🤣.
It's an amazing cover but got nothing on the original
June Miles-Kingston on the drums?
I think you are right. I have watched this clip many times over the decades and wondered who she was, so thank you for commenting.
@@ScottishTeeVee its a cracking cover, I'd put it as one of my fave FB3 tracks. Thanks for sharing

Whoever reads this, do yourself a favor and listen to Virgins and Philistines, one of the greatest albums ever recorded...

I wish goldings guitar was louder
For a second I thought it was Jesus and Mary Chain.
Terry deserves to be in a better place
